I'm retired so other than watching my grandkids, I have tons of free time. I have worked since I was 14 and I don't do downtime well. So this works into my life well, with occasional time off for vacation or personal appointments. If I need more than a few days off, I refer clients to my son who is also on Rover and happy to fill in. Unless your booking times are set in stone (NOT a problem I assure you), you can expect me to arrive within 20 minutes of your requested time. 45 minutes if you tell me time is not an issue. That window allows me to pivot for unexpected client needs like a suddenly sick pet, unexpected clean-ups, other emergencies, etc. Bottom line: I am not a clock-watcher who scrolls on my phone the entire visit. I'll try to stay as long as it takes to do my job right, even if it makes me a few minutes late to another client. And if you tell me you only need me for 10 or 20 minutes of a 30 minute appointment, I'll usually find something to do for the entire 30 unless you truly don't want me to. After all, that is what you are paying me for.

Safety, trust & environment

I always schedule a free Meet and Greet before any first-time visit, whether it's a long-term relationship or a one-time deal. It's better and safer for you, your pets, and me. I care for pets exactly how the pet parent prefers, as long as it doesn't hurt me or the pet. I understand pets have unique personalities and quirks. It's what makes them so cool! I absolutely welcome Ring-type cameras inside and outside the home, as long as you disclose their presence to me prior to my visits (as required by Rover terms of service). I nearly always use a "Rover Card" for visits, with extensive notes. I will take as many pictures of my visits as you like. I also send videos when someone is being cute. I'll happily keep an extra key, use a door code or whatever else works for you.

Information Audrey F. would like to know about your pet

Just let me know what will make you and your pet happy, and I'll do it as long as it doesn't harm me or your pet. I know all dogs and cats are different, and sometimes quirky. I am happy to accommodate those quirks. I like to know things like their comfort level with new people, if they are escape artists, what they like/hate in food and snacks, basically anything that will keep them happy and safe.

A typical day

Cuddles, scritches, belly rubs, games, balls, backyard zoomies, string toys, sticks, snacks and food/water. I can't walk energetic/large dogs, but that's my only limit (back issues). I don't do house sitting/overnights but I do anything else you need in the time I'm there.

Pet care experience

IMPORTANT: I WON'T WALK, SIT OR VISIT A PET WITHOUT A MEET AND GREET FIRST. NO LAST MINUTE REQUESTS. You wouldn't let someone you haven't met into your home to take care of your kids, so why are your pets any different? I need a few days notice to meet you and your pet, so we know we are comfortable with each other. Thank you. (Also FYI: I can't walk larger, uber-energetic or leash-reactive dogs due to back issues.) MY STORY: I have had dogs and cats my entire life. Some of my relatives and friends care for pets professionally on Rover. So now that I'm retired from a long teaching and first responder career, they encouraged me to join them on Rover, and stay busy and useful. I have two dogs (a pittie and a labradoodle), a long-suffering husband, five grown children and 2.5 grandchildren. No cats right now; my last two died a few years ago at the ripe old ages of 16 and 18. My former cat Oscar bullied my pittie Sylvie into submission but there's no guarantee a new kitten or cat will too. So no new cats for me for now. TLDR: I have plenty of extra time and love for your pets including attention, scritches, tummy rubs, head pats, food, water, walks, treats, and more. I also clean up reasonable messes (emphasis on the word "reasonable" lol) and decon after puppies and kittens. I also scoop occasional litter boxes (emphasis on the word "occasional" lol). I can't walk big dogs due to a bad back, unless they are chill and not squirrel-chasers. Smaller dogs are fine. I also supervise backyard play and sternly use my "grandma voice" when necessary. Cats can be clawed or declawed, doesn't matter to me, as long as you warn me what creates a "clawing" offense in their mind :) I'm not a housesitter. But I'll happily stop by your home in the morning, afternoon, dinnertime, midnight or before sunrise. I prefer homes with security cameras to prevent misunderstandings and assure your total satisfaction with your pet's safety. I take pictures (and videos sometimes) of all visits, including extra details you need.

We had a great experience with Audrey. She was reliable, communicative, and took excellent care of our cats while we were away. We came home to happy, well-cared-for kitties and appreciated the updates throughout our trip. We would gladly book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter.

Audrey is the best! She’s reliable, communicates everything we need or want to know, and is so patient and loving with my old girl. It’s such a nice feeling to know that when I’m at work, Pudgie is being taken very good care of!
