“Peggy was great with Maggie! We could tell Maggie felt comfortable the whole weekend. She was well taken care of and we received updates and pictures throughout the weekend as well. We will definitely rebook!”

“I recommend Marisol and would give 6 stars if I could. She stayed in our home and watched our large anxious dog over July 4th when there were massive storms. I did not have to worry one bit about our dog's nerves, as she did everything possible to comfort him when he was scared (stormed for days!). She followed all of my instructions beautifully, gave detailed updates, and left my house clean and tidy. Marisol exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely use her again and refer her to my friends and family!”

“Faith did an amazing job watching our pup! She was very communicative and fast to respond if I messaged her. She texted when she left and made sure I had an update on my pup of what they did that morning and locked up our home how I instructed. I would recommend Faith to other dog parents as well! Thank you Faith for taking care of our baby!”

“Sarah took wonderful care of our 14 year old Lab, Wally, while we were away for a week. Leaving an older dog can be stressful, but Sarah gave us complete peace of mind from the start She was attentive, caring, and clearly treated Wally like one of her own. She kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was obvious he was comfortable, well cared for, and getting lots of love and attention\. We came home to a happy, relaxed dog, which says everything\. We are so grateful for the excellent care Sarah provided and would not hesitate to book with her again\. We highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate pet sitter.”

“What a gift to have such a wonderful care for our guy Brody over the Christmas holiday. Given Brody’s reactivity with other dogs and separation anxiety, Lauren’s flexibility, communication, and care gave us great confidence and comfort. We will definitely be reaching out to Lauren again for any future house sitting needs.”

“Ann did a great job with our cat, Cheddar! He really enjoyed her visits, we could tell by the photos she shared. She was also very kind and understanding of our need to book last-minute, which we really appreciated.”

“This was our first experience with Kathryn. She did not disappoint. She was attentive to our fur baby and kept us updated with texts and photos. Definitely going to use her in the future. Thanks Kathryn for being amazing.”

“Charlotte was the perfect house sitter. My house was just as I left it when I got home. More importantly, my dog, Polly, received the best of care. Charlotte sent me pics several times during my absence and I returned to a happy, healthy pet.”

“Stephanie stayed with our dog, Louie, for 12 days while we were in Italy. She did a wonderful job! She kept us updated each day with pictures and messages, and Louie seemed very happy and content. He even had a bit of anxiety the first few days, and Stephanie kept us in the loop and let us know as soon as he calmed down and settled in. She left our house in great condition. We can’t wait to have her back!”

“Nancy did a great job watching our dog Atticus! He normally gets very sad when we’re gone, but Nancy made sure he got enough love and attention and he was happy and relaxed. Atticus loved Nancy and even went into the room she stayed in a few times to check if she was still there. She sent frequent updates on his mood, whether he ate, and what they were up to, including sending pictures. We will definitely hire Nancy again!”

“Grant and Annika did great with our senior dog and puppy. They are both rescues and nervous boys and require some specific attention including medication administration. They took care of our home and we came home to clean sheets and a house that was cleaner than we left it.”

“I can't recommend Jed highly enough! He truly saved the day by accepting my booking at the very last minute. He was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and professional. Most importantly, Mazi adored him. I will definitely be booking with him again!”

“Alison was thoughtful and patient with our Lucy, who has separation anxiety. Alison tried several calming methods including soothing music, and we were impressed. Thank you Alison!”

“Diane is amazing! Our dog Juni is really tough. She's petrified of strangers and sometimes nips. She's very slow to warm up and sometimes won't even let sitters let her outside. There have been times when she boycotted eating for days, and even when we have family watch her, she's often sick for days after we get back because of stress. Diane worked with Juni and treated her with kindness, patience, and understanding. She gave her space and even did some emotion/body coding work with her which I thought was really cool. She treated our house with respect and we returned to it spotless. I felt very safe and comfortable having her stay in our home, and I think Juni did too. She was in great spirits when we got back and she even had a great few days of eating, no stress sickness. We so appreciate Diane's willingness to work with her! In addition, she was very communicative and thorough when it came to the details/logistics of the stay, and came by in advance to meet us and Juni. I would recommend Diane to anyone.”

“Glen did a great job .It was the first time our dog had someone stay over night and take care of feeding and walking through out the day. Very happy and would recommend Glen for overnight and daily walks”

Jessica is the absolute best. This is the second time we had her house sit while we were away. She took such great care of our precious cat. She was great at communicating and sending pictures. We missed our cat dearly while we were away, but there is no worrying with Jessica. I knew he was being well cared for. I could tell he was missing her after we got home.

Sarah took wonderful care of our 14 year old Lab, Wally, while we were away for a week. Fantastic sitter! Our cat took to Sandra immediately, which says a lot. She handled a challenging assignment that included administering multiple medications twice a day with great care and confidence. Communication was excellent throughout, she was always reliable and on time, and she has a genuinely wonderful personality. We would happily book Sandra again and highly recommend her!

Claudia made the whole process worry free. She sent me pictures of how my 2 fur babies were the whole time I was gone. She made it so I could enjoy my wedding weekend stress free. The animals just loved her. We would definitely recommend and rebook if ever needed with her.

Ella did a good job caring for our dog. She was communicative and kept me in the loop of what was happening. She didn’t send a lot of pictures but that’s not super important to us, I’m sure she would if requested. She left our house clean and picked up. I would recommend Ella for your pet sitting needs.

Natasha was great! We were able to book her last minute and she did such a great job with Elmer, meeting all of his needs and giving him exceptional care while we were gone. She was easy to communicate with and super reliable. Will definitely be using her again!

Sabrina has been the best Dog Sitter I have ever had and I have had a lot of Dog Sitter. She did two courtesy meet and greets and while I was on my trip, she kept me up-to-date multiple times a day with photos. She stayed in my home and took care of my two puppies and when I returned home, the house was immaculate. Everything was clean and almost better than what I left it before leaving on my trip. Both my puppies were very well taken care of. They almost seem sad that we are back and she is gone, lol. She even left me flowers and a handwritten note which was a very touching surprise. Also, I had a lot of instructions and she followed each and every one of them and I must say she was probably the most honest pet sitter I have ever had. I highly recommend Sabrina to take care of your babies, and will be using her multiple times myself.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Woodridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Woodridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Woodridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
