Ashley is part of our family now! My pups seemed a little disappointed when I walked through the door. Ashley is exactly what you would want in a pet/house sitter, communicative responsible and amazing with dogs. And she takes adorable pictures of the pups. We can't wait to have her back!

Nancy did a great job watching our dog Atticus! He normally gets very sad when we’re gone, but Nancy made sure he got enough love and attention and he was happy and relaxed. Atticus loved Nancy and even went into the room she stayed in a few times to check if she was still there. She sent frequent updates on his mood, whether he ate, and what they were up to, including sending pictures. We will definitely hire Nancy again!

Ashley was fantastic! She housesat for our two pups who don’t do well being alone. She gave them lots of attention and treats. She sent many updates and was very communicative the entire time. She followed all of our instructions and made sure the dogs were taken care of. She was great to work with throughout the entire process of coordinating a meet and greet and confirming all of the details for sitting in advance. We would absolutely use Ashley again!

About: Your pet won't just be watched, they'll be genuinely cared for. I’ve spent over 20 years caring for animals of all kinds, and that experience has taught me how to support pets with every temperament and need. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, playful, senior, or requires specialized care, I take the time to understand their routines, triggers, and comfort cues so they feel safe and secure from the moment they arrive. I’ve worked with puppies to seniors, small to large breeds, multi‑pet households, and pets needing medications or structured routines, giving me a strong foundation in reading behavior, building trust, and adjusting care to match each animal’s personality.

My favorite part of pet care is building trust. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a shy, anxious, or reserved pet relax and let their personality shine. Some of the most rewarding feedback I receive is when owners tell me their pet seemed more comfortable, playful, or affectionate than usual. I pay close attention to body language, routines, and emotional cues so pets feel safe, understood, and comfortable being themselves.
And when those moments happen, you'll get to see them too. I love sharing photos, videos, and updates so you can enjoy your pet's adventures while you're away!
 🛡️Safety First, Always
I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to give you peace of mind by providing attentive, thoughtful care and keeping you informed every step of the way.

I actively supervise pets both indoors and outdoors rather than simply being nearby. I pay close attention to body language, energy levels, routines, and any signs of stress, anxiety, excitement, or changing needs. During walks and outdoor time, I'm mindful of surroundings, unfamiliar dogs, wildlife, weather conditions, and anything that could impact your pet's safety or comfort. I also have experience introducing dogs to one another thoughtfully and at a pace that keeps everyone comfortable. By recognizing signs of curiosity, playfulness, uncertainty, stress, or overstimulation, I can adjust interactions appropriately and help create positive, safe experiences for all pets involved.
I believe great pet care comes from being engaged, observant, and proactive. From the moment your pet arrives until they're safely back with you, their well-being is my top priority.
🌟Personalized Care for Every Pet & Every Owner No two pets are alike, and neither are their owners.
Some families provide detailed instructions, schedules, and preferences. Others simply want peace of mind knowing their pet is in experienced hands. I genuinely enjoy both approaches.
I'm naturally detail-oriented, attentive, and precautionary, so I carefully follow every instruction provided. At the same time, my years of experience allow me to confidently care for pets whose owners prefer a more relaxed approach. Whether you prefer frequent updates or occasional check-ins, detailed summaries or quick messages, I'll adapt to your communication style while providing the same level of attentive care. Your pet's care stays consistent regardless of how much or how little direction you provide. Pet care fits naturally into my schedule, allowing me to provide reliable, consistent attention throughout the week.
Monday-Thursday: I work 8 AM-4 PM just minutes from home, so I can stop by during lunch for potty breaks, walks, check-ins, and extra attention when needed.
Fridays: I work remotely, which gives me even more flexibility for walks, playtime, enrichment, and companionship throughout the day. Weekends: My schedule is open, making it easy to accommodate overnight stays, extended visits, and last-minute bookings.
Because my routine is consistent, pets settle in quickly and receive steady, dependable care. Whether your pet enjoys activity, companionship, or simply a predictable routine, I make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for during their stay. 🤍A Calm, Low-Stress Environment
One of the things pets benefit from most in my care is that I don’t have any animals of my own. This means visiting pets receive my full attention in a calm environment without competing for space, affection, or supervision. For many dogs, especially anxious, young, senior, shy, or independent dogs, this can make a huge difference. They often settle in more quickly because the environment is quiet, predictable, and focused entirely on them.
Your pet's routine becomes my routine. Whether they enjoy long walks, playtime, cuddling on the couch, frequent potty breaks, or simply relaxing nearby, I take the time to learn what helps them feel most comfortable.
My building includes: • Private pet park- a safe, enclosed spot for pets to stretch out, play, and enjoy fresh air during their stay • Quiet park nearby for peaceful walks- ideal for pets who prefer gentle environments over the hustle of community dog areas • Pet wash room- perfect for muddy paws, quick rinses, and keeping pets fresh and comfortable during their stay • Elevator and stair access- every pet gets an option based on their comfort and mobility needs All designed to help pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for.

For boarding/daycare, pets who prefer space from other pets can enjoy a one‑household stay.

 💛Extra Support & Attention
My partner is also a lifelong experienced animal lover and often spends her days off with me. Pets naturally gravitate toward her kind, playful energy. She provides an extra set of eyes, hands, and attention, which can be especially helpful for puppies, active dogs, and multi-pet households. Like me, she respects your pet, routines, and home, and takes their care seriously. 🏡 House Sitting: Respectful Pet Care & Home Care
When caring for your pet in your home, my goal is for you to return to a happy pet and a home that looks exactly as you left it. I come fully prepared with my own laptop, hotspot, meals, and daily essentials. I don't require Wi-Fi, snacks, streaming services, or household supplies. Most of my time is spent playing with, walking, cuddling, grooming, or simply spending quality time with your pet. I closely follow feeding schedules, household rules, training routines, and walking expectations. I also: • Bring in mail/take out trash • Vacuum pet hair • Keep food and water areas clean • Tidy up after myself • Wipe down surfaces I use • Handle pet-related cleanups • Respect all security measures and gates
You'll never have surprise visitors, smoking, parties, or drinking in your home. I treat your home with the same care and respect I would expect someone to show mine.
One of my strongest qualities is being a respectful house guest. Your home, routines, and pet's comfort matter to me.

I am so very happy to have found Sarah! I am always worried about my dogs when I go out of town...will the pet sitter let them out as often as their accustomed to? Will my house be a wreck when I return? For the first time in a long time, I took a trip and felt at ease. Sarah was absolutely fantastic! She took such great care of my senior girl and entertained the younger pups. Never have I returned home from a trip and had my house as clean (if not cleaner) than when I left. I am so grateful to Sarah and will most certainly be using her services again!

About: I feel strongly about the human animal-bond and I believe your pets deserve the best care possible! My experience goes back to childhood since I've had cats and dogs my whole life. I've walked neighbors dogs and even watched a friend's horses while she was out of town. I walked dogs at a humane society as a kid. I worked for a pet sitting company for a little over a year. I began school to become a CVT in 2020. After graduating and passing the board exam I entered the field of veterinary care in 2023. My schooling did include kennels- aka walking, cleaning up after and caring for the rescued dogs and cats we learned on (they were adopted out at the end of each semester). I also have helped walk boarding pets at veterinary hospitals. I can do medical treatments on your fur baby if necessary. I am open to watching exotic pets. I have a huge admiration for spicy cats. Rover is a part time job for me but I have flexible availability. I am your person for kitty visits, house sitting, walks for dogs under 40 lbs and select dog walks for babies over that size. I will be using Rover for part time work but I do have flexible availability! I have stepped away from full time work all together for the foreseeable future. I am a morning person and I would love to spend some time outside with your pup whatever the weather may be. I enjoy walking outside even in zero degree weather! I am happy to accommodate any routine you need for your fur babies. Greeting your pet is important, especially if I am new to them. I will give them food and water and clean dishes as advised by you. I will take them for a walk or outside to play and go potty depending on what they are up for. If you need pills or treatments or any kind to be administered I can absolutely do that.

Ash was an excellent sitter for Stella! Stella was having some stomach issues when we left, Ash followed directions, Stella’s issues resolved in a few days. When storms & 4th of July noises started, Ash gave calming supplement without being asked. I was very impressed - very responsible, updates everyday, pictures every day. Kept her out of the heat, knowing she didn’t tolerate warm weather well. I would definitely ask her back to watch Stella.

FAQs for House Sitting - Valley View

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Valley View on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 8,252 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Valley View. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Valley View walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Valley View maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Valley View choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
