“Penny stayed with Matthew and Michelle for 2 weeks while we were on a trip. This was the longest time she had ever been away from home. She settled in very well into their home and we were kept updated on a regular basis which was very much appreciated. We could tell she was happy staying with them and won’t hesitate to book her next stay. Excellent care and accommodations!! Thank you so much!!!”

“This was our first stay with Justine and Brett. They watched my 13 year old Golden for 4 days. Everything from initial contact with Justine, to picking up my pup later than expected after a flight delay of three hours, went very smoothly. She sent pictures to me while I was away…gave morning medication, and stayed in touch throughout the time I was gone. KC will definitely go back the next time mom needs to leave town. 😊🐶. Thank you Justine and Brett!”

“Vanessa took great care of our sweet, but rather nervous 11 year old dog. Lana took to Vanessa quickly and was happy and comfortable with her. Vanessa sent lots of photos during Lana's stay and let us know how she was doing. We have already re-booked for another time with Vanessa.”

“Christina’s family is so caring and loving! You can tell how much their kids enjoy hanging out with Milo and accepted him as part of the family. It’s so great to see how sweet their dog Brydie is too! I know he always has a great experience with Christina and her family 💗”

“Susan was great with our pup Ernie! She was communicative and kept us updated with pics and messages. He was well cared for with lots of pets and snuggles to ease his natural anxiousness at being in a new home. Thank you Susan!”

“Susan, David and their son,Jack, were conscientious caregivers for our dog. They asked questions to make sure they understood her needs and preferences. We received updates with pictures of her walks and outside play. We would highly recommend their service.”

“We were so relaxed leaving Shirley & Bluey with Traci on our month long trip to India. She kept us updated with photos and messages on a daily basis and both of them had a blast with Charlie. Definitely recommend Traci for your pet boarding needs.”

“Kelly and Tariq were awesome! I received regular updates which put me at ease since this was the longest I had left my pup with anyone. Definitely will book with them again.”

“Denise is an excellent pup caregiver! She is knowledgeable about dog care and did execptionally well with our puppymill rescue Maggie who is usually very timid and shy. Maggie took to Denise right away and was kissing her hand and going to her for pets and ear rubs during our meet and greet. Maggie's tale was wagging in the update photos sent and she ate and took her meds without any issues. I highly recommend Denise and will definitely use her again!”

“Robert did a great job with our weimaraner Geddy. He gave him lots of good exercise and worked with Geddy’s quirks. Robert kept us updated throughout our trip. I would highly recommend him and we will definitely plan to use him in the future. Thanks for everything Robert.”

“Lisa and her family was amazing! They treated my dog with a lot of love, and he definitely loves to spend time with them! Their kids are really lovely and played with with my dog too!”

“We are so thankful for Freya’s care this week!! It’s is so comforting to know he was happy and taken care of while we were having a construction project going on in our home. Brody would have been completely stressed, but instead our guy found a home away from home. ❤️”

“It was a last minute request for the holiday weekend and Jessica was so willing to help. She is great with my little girl and kept her from freaking out with the fireworks!! Thank you again for taking care of our baby!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Valley View
I’ve boarded my dog with Mathew and Michelle 3 times this year and will do it again! I feel confident my dog is well cared for while I’m gone. At drop off she runs to the house and is excited to see Mathew. I receive numerous photos while I’m gone which show my dog making herself at right at home and happy. Highly recommend!
Amanda and Anton were great with Leo, and they accommodated a last minute request which I really appreciated. They sent pictures to keep us updated. At pick up time, Leo wanted to go back in the house which told me that even though this was his first time with them, he felt very comfortable and enjoyed his time with Amanda and Anton. Highly recommend!

I am so happy to have found Lynda. She took great care of Fontaine while I was on vacation. I had made other plans for him then I found out that he had diabetes. I was gone for 11 days and I was so glad to find someone who was comfortable giving Fontaine his shots. I also appreciate that Lynda wanted to meet Fontaine before my trip. It let me know that she was serious and wanted to make sure that it was a good match. I would highly recommend Lynda. She is definitely a dog lover and will care for your pet as if they were her own.

Jean and Al were so great. They treated our girl like she was their own. We could tell how happy and comfortable she was with the pictures Jean sent and even when we picked her up as she was happy to keep hanging out and play while we talked whereas with a lot of other sitters, she’s been happy to go home asap.

Natalie was great with our dog while we were out of town. He got along great with her cats and we got plenty of pictures while we were gone of him living his best life looking relaxed and happy. We’d definitely book with Natalie again if she’s available next time we’re traveling!

Deb is amazing! We have a very active Vizsla and she had the best time at her house while we were on vacation!! Deb sent updates and pictures throughout the time Nora was with her- I was so comfortable and relieved knowing how well cared she was while we were gone. She goes above and beyond with the care she provides. Nora was lucky enough to have other dogs her size (and energy) to play with while she was there, and came home a happy and tired girl! Definitely recommend Deb and am so happy to have sound the best sitter for our dog! Thank you Deb!

Tori took such good care of our dog !! Our dog is very anxious being away from us but Tori helped her feel welcome and nurtured while we were gone. She sent frequent updates and were flexible with our pick up and drop off times. I would highly recommend booking with Tori!

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Valley View.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
