Nancy did a great job watching our dog Atticus! He normally gets very sad when we’re gone, but Nancy made sure he got enough love and attention and he was happy and relaxed. Atticus loved Nancy and even went into the room she stayed in a few times to check if she was still there. She sent frequent updates on his mood, whether he ate, and what they were up to, including sending pictures. We will definitely hire Nancy again!

About: My parents have a farm with three big dogs and many small ones, I’ve taken care of them many times over the years. I have neighbors and friends reaching out to care for their furry friends while they are out of town. I promise to give your loved furry one the love they would expect on a day to day basis I work from home so if I need to spend the day with your pet I can be there for them as I work! Outside of work hours I can give long walks and tons of play time. If you pet needs extra attention I can provide lots of head pets or give them space if they like to spend their time alone.

About: I’ve taken care of my friends dogs before and I have two dogs of my own that I watch when my parents are out of town as well as our cat too. I have a way that animals always love em even if they aren’t big with other people. I am currently a full time college student with only one in person class. Classes end latter this month. I always work part time in retail and umpire baseball games on the weekends. I’m typically at my retail job for about 4 hours and I umpire weekends for about 6 hours I have a fenced in yard and my dogs love to run around out there. I also love to take my dogs on walks when i can. I also have a cat that I try to take out when the weather is nice and let him roam in the sun.

Rajda did an amazing job taking care of our 4 small dogs! Each one has their unique personality and she was able to meet each of their needs. They loved her from the first time they met her. She was able to think outside of the box to make sure they all ate and gave our senior dog her daily medicine. She followed our directions and kept us informed and sent photos and videos so we could see how our babies were doing. She was very responsive and left the house in great shape. She even watered our flowers. She was the best sitter we have had! We will be hiring her again!

About: I’ve had pets my entire life and grew up caring for both cats and dogs. Throughout childhood, my family had a cat and we frequently dog-sat for multiple dogs. In college, I continued pet sitting as a side job and gained even more hands-on experience. I regularly care for friends’ and family’s dogs when they travel. I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes, breeds, and ages, and I genuinely love animals. I especially enjoy walking dogs and making sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. I am available Friday-Sunday. I am work from home Friday, so I can help out during the day, and through the weekend. I am flexible to your schedule! When caring for pets in their own home, I focus on keeping their routine and environment consistent so they feel safe and comfortable. For drop-in visits, I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, and get plenty of attention and playtime (my favorite!). I always check that doors, gates, and crates are secure before and after visits. I am extremely responsible as I have cared for pets my whole life. For walks, I use secure leashes and harnesses as instructed by the owner and stay aware of my surroundings at all times. I avoid unsafe areas, watch closely for other animals, and make sure each walk matches the pet’s energy level and needs. I have experience with all sizes of dogs. I treat every home and pet with respect and care, follow all owner instructions closely, and provide updates so pet parents feel confident their pets are safe and happy. I would love to care for your pet!

About: I’ve spent the last 20+ years caring for pretty much every kind of pet you can imagine- dogs, cats, tortoises, iguanas, fish, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, turtles, chickens, rabbits… if it hops, waddles, wiggles, or purrs, I’ve probably fed it, walked it, or given it a pep talk! Animals have always been my grounding place, and I love making sure every pet feels safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. I’m patient, attentive, and great at reading their little quirks, which helps them settle in quickly and feel confident in a new environment. 🛡️ Safety‑Focused & Present Your pet is never left alone for long periods. I stay alert on walks, especially around unfamiliar dogs and wildlife. I keep entrances/exits controlled, adjust pace for excited pups, and follow your routines exactly. I focus on the small details that keep them secure and comfortable, so they can relax, explore, and be their happiest self. I handle all the essentials with ease- feeding routines, walks, playtime, cleaning, basic training, and juggling multiple pets at once. Whether your pet needs structure, exercise, affection, or quiet companionship, I create a stress‑free, cozy space where they can relax and feel right at home. 🛁 Optional “go‑home‑fresh” bath: Warm water, gentle shampoo, and a towel or blow‑dry based on your pet’s noise sensitivity. They’ll go home clean, soft, and smelling adorable. Available before pickup for boarding stays. Your pet won’t just be watched- they’ll be cared for with intention, patience, and love. Pet care fits perfectly into my weekly routine, which means your pet gets consistent attention every single day. From Monday–Thursday, I work 8 AM–4 PM just minutes from home, so I’m able to pop in during lunch for mid‑day check-ins, potty breaks, or a little extra love. This makes weekday care smooth and reliable- ideal for boarding, walks, drop-ins, and daycare. Fridays are even better: I work remotely, so your pet gets full-day flexibility, extra walks, enrichment time, and a calm, cozy environment. Weekends are completely open, which makes scheduling easy for overnight stays, longer visits, or last‑minute needs. Because my routine is steady and predictable, pets settle in quickly, feel safe, and get the kind of consistent care that helps them relax and enjoy their stay. Since I don’t have pets of my own, visiting pets get a quiet, calm space and full attention the moment they arrive. Their routine becomes my routine- familiar feeding times, comfy rest breaks, play sessions, and walks that match their energy and needs. My building includes: • Private pet park- a safe, enclosed spot for pets to stretch out, play, and enjoy fresh air during their stay • Quiet park nearby for peaceful walks- ideal for pets who prefer gentle environments over the hustle of community dog areas • Pet wash room- perfect for muddy paws, quick rinses, and keeping pets fresh and comfortable during their stay • Elevator and stair access- every pet gets an option based on their comfort and mobility needs For boarding/daycare, pets who prefer space from other pets can enjoy a one‑household stay. Your pets get focus, consistency, and a cozy environment made just for them. 💛 Extra Support & Enrichment My partner often spends her days off here, and pets absolutely light up around her. She’s an energetic, intuitive animal lover who brings enrichment, playtime, and companionship. She’s also great at helping maintain personalized care routines, and animals naturally gravitate toward her warm, upbeat personality. Since she’s usually here while I’m at work, your pet always has someone kind, attentive, and experienced nearby. 📝 In Your Home I follow your routines closely- feeding schedules, walk routes, play preferences, training rules, and home expectations. I keep your space tidy, respect the space, and make sure your pet feels safe, relaxed, and well‑cared‑for while you’re away.

About: I've had pets my whole life and grew up caring for all kinds of animals, my family even keeps chickens, so I'm no stranger to that either. My experience has given me a real love for animal care, especially dogs. My family has four dogs at home, and they're truly part of the family. Their care and happiness mean a lot to me. Pet care is a natural part of my everyday life. With four dogs of my own, I'm used to a routine of morning walks, feeding times, and playtime built right into my day. I make sure there's always time set aside for exercise, attention, and just being present with them, whether that's a walk around the neighborhood, some backyard playtime, or simply relaxing together at home. Caring for animals isn't an extra task for me, it's just part of how my day naturally flows. In my home, my four dogs have a regular routine of feeding, walks, and playtime, with plenty of individual attention along the way. In a client's home, I stick closely to their usual routine and keep owners updated with photos so they know their pet is well cared for.

Melissa took care of our three babies. Our dog Pita is a bit high maintenance due to her allergies. Melissa was patient and provided excellent care. Dewey, our youngest cat is very shy. It usually takes a while for him to warm up to new people. He had no problem getting to know Melissa within minutes. She gave our other cat Boogie lots of love and attention as well. We definitely will ask Melissa to stay with Pita, Boogie and Dewey the next time we go away. We cannot thank her enough!

Sarah took wonderful care of our 14 year old Lab, Wally, while we were away for a week. Leaving an older dog can be stressful, but Sarah gave us complete peace of mind from the start She was attentive, caring, and clearly treated Wally like one of her own. She kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was obvious he was comfortable, well cared for, and getting lots of love and attention\. We came home to a happy, relaxed dog, which says everything\. We are so grateful for the excellent care Sarah provided and would not hesitate to book with her again\. We highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate pet sitter.

Ash was an excellent sitter for Stella! Stella was having some stomach issues when we left, Ash followed directions, Stella’s issues resolved in a few days. When storms & 4th of July noises started, Ash gave calming supplement without being asked. I was very impressed - very responsible, updates everyday, pictures every day. Kept her out of the heat, knowing she didn’t tolerate warm weather well. I would definitely ask her back to watch Stella.

FAQs for House Sitting - Lisle

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Lisle on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 8,187 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lisle. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lisle walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lisle maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lisle choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lisle. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
