I work full time from home, 7:30 - 4:00pm Monday through Friday. My dogs get potty breaks during that time and plenty (sometimes too much!) attention.

All dogs must get along- mine love all kinds of dogs. No breed restrictions or preferences. Dogs must not be cat aggressive. In rare circumstances, if your pet is aggressive towards my animals, they will be separated and you will be contacted to see if another sitter can cover. This is not only for my pets safety but for your pets as well. Your pets safety is my number one!
A typical day
Lounging, Forest preserve walks, playing with my dogs. Throwing ball in the backyard. Let me know what your pet loves and I will do my best to accommodate.

Hello! My name is Alana and I have worked with animals for over a decade, beginning in high school. I worked for a veterinary clinic for 10 years until I moved into a different field. Even then, I still missed working with animals and enjoyed it so much that I ran my own animal rescue for 6 years. On top of a full time job, I work part time taking care of other people’s pets because I love it so much! I currently have three dogs in my home, Frank, a chihuahua mix, and Estelle, a Boston terrier mix, and Roxanne (Roxy) a lab/poodle mix. I also have a Maine Coon cat named Lenny who loves my dogs. I have worked with every dog breed out there, from tiny to large and special needs animals. I also consider myself a cat whisperer and reptile enthusiast. Please feel free to ask me any questions!

Alana took great care of my pup while we were out of town. She was very patient with getting him settled in and adjusted to her home. He was extremely energetic during her stay and she took it in stride. She updated me as needed. All around good experience boarding with Alana.
Alana S. cancelled a booking 2 days before it was scheduled to begin.
Alana was awesome, she kept me updated, followed all of my instructions, and took good care of Nemo on his walk! Nemo can be a bit much sometimes but she did perfect with him! Can’t wait to use her again to walk Nemo :)
