“Peggy was great with Maggie! We could tell Maggie felt comfortable the whole weekend. She was well taken care of and we received updates and pictures throughout the weekend as well. We will definitely rebook!”

“Heidi, was very polite and took care of my dog very well. She even waited up late one night when I came home late the other night. I would recommend her to anyone interested in someone that is reliable. Thanks again Heidi!”

About: Although I have no professional experience working with dogs, growing up I have owned several. As a result, I have turned into a huge dog lover, and I am very comfortable around all breeds and sizes. In addition, I have handled dogs with varying types of demeanor from some that are more nervous and submissive, as well as those who are more dominant. I treat and love every dog I meet as if they were my own. :) I actually did Rover for several years, but took a break as I moved to the UK for a bit. I'm back in the Chicagoland area now though as I figure out next steps, which means lots of time for walks, playtime, and snuggles as I navigate the minefield that is LinkedIn. I'm always happy to check in throughout the day with pictures and videos as I want to make sure you feel confident that your dog is properly taken care of while you're away. Please reach out if you have any further questions! Other languages: fluent in American Sign Language, conversational in Spanish. As mentioned, I'm currently readjusting to being back in the States after living overseas for a few years. As of right now, I've got very open availability. I'm currently unable to have pets in my home. But I'm happy to meet your fur baby where they are and follow whatever routine they've got set. Just let me know!
About: From pups to seniors, I provide expert, compassionate care for your fur baby—whether it’s feeding, walking, bathing, or even nail trims, your pet is in experienced hands. I’m a part-time EMT with a flexible schedule and over 10 years of experience caring for animals. I’m looking for extra tasks to keep me busy—and caring for pets is my favorite way to spend my free time! I take care of animals, whether it’s in your home or mine, the same way as I would take care of my own animal. With love, care and compassion.
“Caroline kept in touch at least once a day and sent pictures of my dogs. My dogs did have several accidents that I found in other rooms and on my rug a few times. When I got home my dogs had no water and both were extremely thirsty. I did ask her to get my mail daily and put it on the counter, however, that didn’t happen and my mail box was over filled. Overall she did a good job, my little dog seemed a lot lighter because he doesn’t eat when I’m gone, they are both back to themselves today.”

“Stephanie stayed with our dog, Louie, for 12 days while we were in Italy. She did a wonderful job! She kept us updated each day with pictures and messages, and Louie seemed very happy and content. He even had a bit of anxiety the first few days, and Stephanie kept us in the loop and let us know as soon as he calmed down and settled in. She left our house in great condition. We can’t wait to have her back!”

“I recommend Marisol and would give 6 stars if I could. She stayed in our home and watched our large anxious dog over July 4th when there were massive storms. I did not have to worry one bit about our dog's nerves, as she did everything possible to comfort him when he was scared (stormed for days!). She followed all of my instructions beautifully, gave detailed updates, and left my house clean and tidy. Marisol exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely use her again and refer her to my friends and family!”

About: I’m a passionate and reliable pet lover with years of hands on experience caring for dogs of all ages and needs. I’ve had four dogs of my own, including my current puppy, so I understand the energy, attention, and patience that younger dogs require. I’ve also cared for two senior dogs with health issues, which taught me how to provide gentle, attentive care and manage more complex needs. In addition to caring for my own pets, I've cared for pets of neighbors, friends and friends of friends. I’m comfortable following specific routines, administering basic care, and making sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Whether your dog needs a fun walk, extra playtime, or calm, attentive care, I treat every pet like they’re my own. I’m dependable, communicative, and truly enjoy spending time with animals of all personalities and energy levels! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, especially during the summer when I’m home from college and able to make it my main focus. I have a very flexible schedule and can plan my day around each pet’s specific needs, whether that’s regular walks, feeding times, play sessions, or drop ins. Because this is my primary commitment over the summer, I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, stay consistent with their routines, and be available for a variety of times throughout the day. I prioritize reliability and communication, so you can feel confident your pet is getting the care and attention they deserve. I tailor my care to each pet’s routine and needs to make them feel as comfortable and stress free as possible. In a client’s home, I stick closely to your pet’s normal schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest, so they can stay in a familiar environment. I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, while also keeping their space clean and secure. Across all services, I focus on clear communication, dependability, and treating every pet like my own, whether that means energetic playtime for puppies or gentle, attentive care for senior dogs. I do prefer that all pet owners leave detailed care instructions for each pet, whether this be on paper or sent through Rover's messaging system. This helps me stay organized and ensures that your pet receives the best care possible!
“Emily was great! She stayed at our house for 5 nights, watching our 10 year old great Pyrenees. She was available to house sit with only a week's notice, which we are very grateful for. She had good communication on giving me updates and also very timely whenever I reached out. I had genuine peace of mind while we were out of state. House was just as clean as, maybe even cleaner than, when we left it, huge relief after our long day of flying. We came home to our happy sleeping dog! Our dog just required morning/evening feeding and morning/afternoon/evening potty breaks at a minimum, and Emily definitely put in more than the bare minimum. She gave our dog all the extra weather permitting outside play time and inside loves that I would have given my dog if I was home, so we are very happy with Emily! Definitely would rebook! Thank you Emily!”

“Evelyn was FANTASTIC! She ensured Nugget was not only comfortable and fed but also stimulated. She was also super respectful of my home and went above with leaving the space neat. Will definitely ask her to sit again.”

“Jessica was the absolute best!!! Our 2 cats did amazing with her and they were so so so well cared for and loved during our vacation. Jessica stayed 3 days and 3 nights at our place and did cat sitting and house sitting and made our vacation stress free knowing our babies were well taken care of! She was so respectful of our home and left everything as is and clean. She sent us daily photos and text updates as we requested. Our cats absolutely loved her and were so happy with her. We will definitely be rebooking and recommend Jessica to everyone!!!”

“Nancy did a great job watching our dog Atticus! He normally gets very sad when we’re gone, but Nancy made sure he got enough love and attention and he was happy and relaxed. Atticus loved Nancy and even went into the room she stayed in a few times to check if she was still there. She sent frequent updates on his mood, whether he ate, and what they were up to, including sending pictures. We will definitely hire Nancy again!”

“Diane is amazing! Our dog Juni is really tough. She's petrified of strangers and sometimes nips. She's very slow to warm up and sometimes won't even let sitters let her outside. There have been times when she boycotted eating for days, and even when we have family watch her, she's often sick for days after we get back because of stress. Diane worked with Juni and treated her with kindness, patience, and understanding. She gave her space and even did some emotion/body coding work with her which I thought was really cool. She treated our house with respect and we returned to it spotless. I felt very safe and comfortable having her stay in our home, and I think Juni did too. She was in great spirits when we got back and she even had a great few days of eating, no stress sickness. We so appreciate Diane's willingness to work with her! In addition, she was very communicative and thorough when it came to the details/logistics of the stay, and came by in advance to meet us and Juni. I would recommend Diane to anyone.”

“Repeat bookingbw Patrick! He does a great job taking care of our big doggies (who are a handful) while we are out of town. We always trust that they're ok when he's watching them! Will book again”

“We cant find the words to express how grateful we were to have Jennifer watch our two furr babies, full blooded Labradors. We have never left our kids with anyone before, so it was a pleasure to have her in our home with the kids for 8 days and had not one worry! She sent us pictures and updates daily, which was wonderful to see how happy the kids were. Even with it being cold outside, she threw the ball for them and played with them. Not only did she take fantastic job watching our kids, she kept our home in tip top shape, and I have the worst case of OCD and I would have her back with no questions asked!!! If you want the VERY BEST, go with Jennifer, you will not be disappointed, worried or concerned about anything. She also did things in my house like vacuumed, mopping, and ran errands for me. She has the most upbeat personality and super likeable! We hit it off right off the bat.”

About: Hi there! My name is Adrianna, and I’ve been around animals my whole life—I’ve had pets since I was 3 years old and started pet sitting when I was 8 for family friends. I truly love and adore animals, and I always treat them like my own. Whether your pet needs medication, shots, feeding, overnight care, a cozy place to relax, walks, or just some extra love and attention, I’m happy to help. Your pet’s happiness and well-being are my top priority! Let me know how I can care for your furry (or not-so-furry) friend! I have a 2 cats and 1 dog here in Illinois but I have 3 cats and 4 dogs in Florida with my mother where just recently moved from. I am willing to do anything for my animals and other animals that aren’t mine. I had to give cats and dogs medicine in any kind of way. With oral, anal ways, ear canal, soaps & shots.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lemont walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lemont maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lemont choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
