“We recently had Sarah house sit our dog for a few days and she was terrific! She provided updates each day on how our pup was doing and had thoughtful questions prior to our departure so we felt all was in good hands before we left. She even put our garbage cans out for us on garbage day and cleaned our dog’s food bowls before we came home. We would definitely use Sarah’s services again in the future!”
“Stephanie was a joy to have taken care of my kitties. I asked for pictures to be sent from each feeding, as one of my cats is diabetic and needs insulin (and I can be a nervous mama around his health!) She sent lots of photos right on time and my cats warmed up to her right away. She was super communicative– asking questions and always responding right away. House was left nice and tidy, and she even offered to put new clean sheets back on the bed when stripping the ones off from her stay. I will definitely be calling Stephanie again!”

“Sam was great with our dogs!! She was extremely flexible when booking at the last minute and very communicative while she watched our pups. She made our trip extremely relaxing knowing our dogs were in great hands.”

“Awesome! We were so lucky to have Heidi watch our dogs while we were on vacation! She was so sweet and caring with them, handled all of their medication and care needs, sent frequent updates, and left our home in perfect condition. She even took out our trash cans on garbage day without being asked. Typically when we have gone on vacation, we have been worried about our dogs the entire time, but not with Heidi. She put us at ease every day and was so great with then. When we came back, both our dogs were happy and calm - a great change from when we would pick them up from boarding or come home to our prior dog sitter in the past. If you need a dog sitter you can trust while away, I cannot recommend Heidi enough. She truly is the best!”

About: I started taking care and training dogs when I was 13. My parents rescued my dog Luna when I was 14 and I took care of her every day and trained her, she even understands Spanish! She is the sweetest dog ever but I currently don’t live with her anymore. I also enjoy taking care of kids and I am very patient and confident in my ability to handle anything. I love to teach and I am very passionate about what I do. Once I start something I work hard to become better everyday. I am currently on summer break so I have plenty of free time. I am fully committed to working Monday-Saturday mostly from 8am-9pm. My current schedule is simple. I go to the gym from 9-11:30am and pretty much free the rest of the day. I have a part time job and I work every other week Sat-Sun from 4-10. I have a really flexible schedule so feel free to ask any questions! I would usually take my dog out for her first walk at 8 in the morning. I would take her out for at least 15min and repeat this every 3/4 hours. After her first walk I fed her breakfast, sometimes I’d crack an egg on top or drizzle honey which is great for dogs, and I fed her twice a day. If it was muddy outside I would clean her paws and fur after. I would play with her and teach her new tricks every now and then. If her breath was bad I would brush her teeth at night. I loved cuddling and sleeping with her and I would do everything to make sure she was happy.

“Ann was amazing with our cat and dog, as usual, but went above and beyond when our flight home got canceled due to a hurricane. We are so grateful she happily agreed to stay another day- it really put our minds at ease during a really stressful and helpless time.”

“Rita was amazing with our two dogs! She kept us constantly updated with pictures and notes throughout our two week trip. The dogs took to her immediately and gave us peace of mind. The proof is that they were happy and content when we returned home from our trip. I would and will hire Rita again for our future trips. I highly recommend her.”

“Angelina was absolutely fabulous with Marshmellow and Emerson. She shared photos and updates each day, she also provided wonderful recommendations on products. I highly recommend Angelina's services to care for your pets.”

“I recommend Marisol and would give 6 stars if I could. She stayed in our home and watched our large anxious dog over July 4th when there were massive storms. I did not have to worry one bit about our dog's nerves, as she did everything possible to comfort him when he was scared (stormed for days!). She followed all of my instructions beautifully, gave detailed updates, and left my house clean and tidy. Marisol exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely use her again and refer her to my friends and family!”

“Oh goodness, I don't know where to begin! Miguel is wonderful! He kept in touch with me and if he had questions on Zona's care he reached out to me for clarity. Photos were sent to me daily with days activities! My home was secure and Zona cared for with Miguel. We will definitely use him again. Thank you Miguel!!”

“My pups love Loraine! We’ve worked with her twice nice and they always seem excited but calm and healthy when we get home! She does great with communicating and we enjoy working with her.”

“Patrick was great to work with! He took great care of our dog and cats while we were out of town. We set up some walks with my dog so she could get comfortable with him. He responded quickly to check-ins and any questions we had!! We’ll be using him again for sure!”

“Katherine was incredibly accommodating and was very thorough to make sure she was giving Caesar the best care. She even stayed additional time to make sure Caesar had company. 100% would book again and highly recommend!”

“Diane is always so thoughtful with Juni! We're very appreciative of all the care she gives her and how communicative she is with us throughout the stay. It puts our minds at ease.”

About: I’m a passionate and reliable pet lover with years of hands on experience caring for dogs of all ages and needs. I’ve had four dogs of my own, including my current puppy, so I understand the energy, attention, and patience that younger dogs require. I’ve also cared for two senior dogs with health issues, which taught me how to provide gentle, attentive care and manage more complex needs with compassion. In addition to caring for my own pets, I've cared for pets of neighbors, friends and friends of friends! I’m comfortable following specific routines, administering basic care, and making sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Whether your dog needs a fun walk, extra playtime, or calm, attentive care, I treat every pet like they’re my own. I’m dependable, communicative, and truly enjoy spending time with animals of all personalities and energy levels! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, especially during the summer when I’m home from college and able to make it my main focus. I have a very flexible schedule and can plan my day around each pet’s specific needs, whether that’s regular walks, feeding times, play sessions, or check ins. Because this is my primary commitment over the summer, I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, stay consistent with their routines, and be available for a variety of times throughout the day. I prioritize reliability and communication, so you can feel confident your pet is getting the care and attention they deserve. I tailor my care to each pet’s routine and needs to make them feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible. In a client’s home, I stick closely to your pet’s normal schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest, so they can stay in a familiar environment. I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, while also keeping their space clean and secure. Across all services, I focus on clear communication, dependability, and treating every pet like my own, whether that means energetic playtime for puppies or gentle, attentive care for senior dogs.

Katelyn was AMAZING!! 😄 she was super communicative, extremely caring and attentive to taking care of my girls, and made every effort to ensure I was comfortable throughout the experience. Sent lots of adorable photos of my pups having the best time. Overall just a fantastic person and sitter! Looking forward to our next trip knowing that my fur kiddos are in wonderful hands! 10/10

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. Jana kept me updated with messages and photos, so I never had to worry or wonder how things were going. It was such a relief knowing my dog was not just being “watched,” but truly cared for, played with, and treated like family. My puppy was happy, relaxed, and clearly well taken care of. It’s obvious Jana pays attention to details, follow instructions, and genuinely care about each pet’s personality and needs. I trust her completely and will 100% be booking again. If you’re looking for someone reliable, loving, and responsible to care for your dog, this is the person you want. Absolute gem!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Burr Ridge on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Burr Ridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Burr Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burr Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
