“We don’t have any family in the area and were very nervous to leave our dog for a few days while we went to another country. Amanda was so good with our boy and put us totally at ease! Will definitely be hiring her again. Wonderful!”

“Erin always provides exceptional care for our 6-year-old greyhound, Happy. Erin showers Happy with affection and makes sure she has fresh water, a treat, and clean feet. During this muddy weekend, I really appreciated that. Erin was kind enough to alter her visit time when my schedule changed at the last minute. Because Erin is kind, professional, and flexible, I can confidently recommend her services. Erin is always our first choice for care.”

“Heather watched our two ragdoll cats for the first time recently. Naturally, I was a little nervous because our cats have never been left alone overnight. Heather did an amazing job of keeping me updated about the kitties, which gave me great peace of mind. When we came back, the kitties looked great and everything had been taken care of wonderfully. We will definitely use Heather again!”

“Stephanie is great! She was able to relax my kitty before giving him ear drops, she gave him his pills and takes great care of my kitty. Her communication eases any anxiety of leaving my pet when I travel, and I always know he’s in great care.”

About: What sets me apart as a pet sitter is my extensive hands-on experience with a wide variety of animals and my ability to provide specialized care. I have a 12-year-old dog that I personally trained and continue to care for through his senior years, managing complications from old age and two ACL tears With dedicated rehab and treatment. In addition to this, I rescued two kittens when they were only two days old, bottle feeding them for months after losing their mother. I’ve also worked on a horse ranch where I trained and rescued horses, and took care of a range of animals, including pigs, goats, cattle, chickens, and more. My experience with hunting dogs and my background in animal rehab rehabilitation further sets me apart, as I understand, the unique needs for each animal, and I’m committed to providing the best care possible. Whether it’s training, senior care, or helping with recovery from injury, I bring compassion, expertise, and a deep love for animals to every sitting experience. I’m currently a student athlete at Lewis University with most of my weekday availability in the mornings and evenings. My weekends are typically available as well. When caring for pets in your home, I prioritize respect and attention to detail. I always ensure your properties is treated with almost care, keeping everything clean and organized. “Wow! Amanda took such great care with our mature dog. I was apprehensive (no terrified) to have anyone take care of him but we were stuck and she saved the day!!! She was a great communicator, made sure to give him his meds and even gave him a little walk. Amazing!”

“Shelby is so good with our Tug who is a sweet but anxious dog. Shelby stayed with Tug a few weeks ago for a week and he has become fond of her. Today he remembered her and welcomed her back. He jumped right into her lap!! We are so pleased with the way Shelby takes care of Tug and our house. Thank you Shelby!!”

“Bradlei was quick in her responses to my request and was willing to take my request on such short notice. She asked the right questions and even took notes during our meeting to ensure as little discomfort to kitty as possible while I was out. Her updates were timely and clear, and she took initiative to take care of an unexpected sickness/clean up that we had not discussed beforehand.”

About: What sets me apart for other sitters is that I have them enjoy their walks at their own pace. In my years of experience, I have not only taken care of dogs but also cats just to name a few. Every animal is unique in their own way so being kind goes a long way. I like to have the owners as well as the dogs comfortable with me so I obtain as much information from the owners regarding their furry friends as I can. I am currently free to play, drop-in or bring your furry baby home with me. Whatever your pets needs are, I am here to help. I have a big backyard where I normally allow the dogs to run and play. But it does not have a fence in one area where the driveway begins. My home has two floors which the downstairs I use for the dogs to lay down, play or sleep. I do own a dog myself but she isn't allowed to interact with guests dogs unless previously approved by the guests parents first. I also have cameras, where I can capture video and photos to send to the pet parents.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Lemont
This was my first time getting help from someone on Rover and it was fabulous. Margaret took such good care of our cats and sent regular reports on how things went. Even our cat who is afraid of most people came out when she stopped in—so she clearly has a way with animals! I will definitely rely on Margaret for future trips!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
