“Margaret was great and easy to work with. I made a last minute request and thankfully she was able to help. She made sure my dog had fresh clean water when she left and took great care of him!”

“Charlotte was absolutely wonderful. She would take Teddy out for his mid-day walk and she always sent us pictures of how happy he was on his walk. :) She even took care of some packages that were left outside our door. It was such a relief knowing we could trust her with our pup. HIGHLY recommend!”

“Juliana is just great! Our dog loves her and is so excited for his walk every time he sees her. She takes extra special care of our dog and we couldn’t ask for anymore! Highly highly recommend Juliana for any dog owner and would give her higher than 5 stars if we could!”

About: I’m a dependable dog lover with over 10 years of experience caring for dogs. I enjoy taking dogs on walks, giving them plenty of attention, and making sure they feel safe and happy. I currently work part-time, so I offer dog walks around my work schedule. I’m reliable, flexible when possible, and will always communicate if there are any scheduling changes. My goal is to make sure your dog gets a safe, fun, and enjoyable walk every time. Your dog’s safety is my top priority. “Heather was exceptional with Charlie. She was punctual, took the most adorable photos and was very thorough with her reports. She's extremely kind and attentive. Highly recommend!!”

“John treats my dog like his own. I have a large dog, and she can be difficult to handle, but John is comfortable setting boundaries and managing her behavior. He is always friendly and arrives on time, and my dog is always happy and well exercised after her walks. He communicates well, and I would trust him with my dog any time.”

“Alyssa has been wonderful this week. My dog is very nervous around new people. I honestly didn't think Payton would actually get a walk due to being so scared but she got leash and received wonderful pics of Payton having fun and requesting belly rubs!”

About: I love dogs. A few years ago our family’s dog, Lacy passed away at 13 years old. She was a beautiful black and white English springer spaniel. She was so fun, energetic, and sweet. She’s missed everyday. We’re not ready to get another dog yet but since I love being around dogs I thought that caring for dogs would be a fun thing to do. I’ve had experience taking care of my family’s dog for 10 years. Growing up with her, I took Lacy for walks, fed, played with, and cared for her. I’ve house sat my cousins 3 dogs a couple times, whenever they go on vacation for one to two weeks at a time. I’ve also done day visits for one of their neighbors dogs whenever they go on work trips for a few days. I’m looking forward to walking and spending time with your dog(s)! I currently am in between jobs and I’m looking for part time work. I thought dog walking/sitting would be a nice temporary job since I love dogs. I would follow my clients instructions for the care of their dog and the dogs needs. This would include their nutritional needs as well as exercise and play time.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
