“Kiarra is absolutely wonderful. So helpful, flexible, caring and great with communication. Dawson always loves seeing her and she treats him like gold. Best sitter and dog walker in town by far!”

“Can’t thank leony enough for looking after our elderly cat. Amazing updates while we were away. Happy cat on our return. Such a lovely person. Booked again for next week and later in year. Good to know our cat and home was well looked after.”

“Grace looked after my dachshund and he had the best time! Grace was able to accommodate my requested times and had good communication sending me updates through the day. Would definitely recommend Grace and use her to watch my pup again.”

“Madeline was amazing caring for my chihuahua Nala. She treated her like a princess and always updated me with pictures and took her on picnics and gave her so much attention and love . Would highly recommend her five star service.”

“Jade was great with Teddy today. She is super friendly and reliable and obviously loves dogs. She took Teddy out for a couple of walks so I got home to a tired happy pup 😴 Would 💯 recommend”

“This was the first time we left Sprout for a couple of days and as you might imagine that is quite scary. However, Evelyn did an amazing job looking after Sprout and keeping us in the loop with small little updates (and pictures)! We could tell that Sprout was happy and relaxed! Little side note because Evelyn was staying at ours for a couple of nights: She left the place as she found it! So not only did she look after Sprout but also our home. Couldn’t ask for a better service! Thanks so much Evelyn!!”

“Kasie looked after little Arlo today. Since I’ve got back he has slept for a few hours thanks to her taking the time to play with him all day. Any instructions were followed, albeit there was only a few, and the house was as clean as when I left. She also arrived earlier than asked, which is ideal when time is of the essence. You want someone who clearly loves animals, and Kasie is clearly that kind of person. 10/10 recommend to anyone.”

“Angelica is an absolute angel well named, she stayed in our house when we went on holiday to look after our dog Lincoln who can take a minute to get to know new people, he loved her on first site, she respected the property & gave us daily updates & pictures, I would highly recommend Angelica to look after any pet & your home. I will certainly have her look after & walk Lincoln again 5 stars all round. Thank you Angelica ♥️”

“We couldn’t recommend Holly enough! She looked after our dogs while we were away for the weekend and she was absolutely amazing. She took them on walks, sent regular updates, and shared so many pictures which really put our minds at ease while we were away. It was so reassuring knowing they were being so well looked after and loved. We’ll definitely be using Holly again in the future , thank you so much! ❤️”

About: I have been caring for animals for many years, both as a pet owner and as a volunteer. I grew up with a dog and have spent the last 15 years caring for two cats. My cats have needed regular veterinary care, medication and daily attention, including the additional care that comes with older pets. This has taught me to be patient, observant and attentive to changes in an animal’s health, behaviour and routine. I have also regularly walked dogs belonging to friends and family and provided overnight and full-day care for their cats. I understand how important it is to follow each pet’s individual routine and make sure they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I have also volunteered at an animal rescue centre in Poland, where I helped care for rescued wildlife, and at an animal shelter, where I walked dogs and spent time with them. I am reliable, calm and responsible, and I am happy to follow individual instructions regarding walks, feeding, medication and care. I will keep owners updated with photos and let them know if I notice anything unusual about their pet. Most importantly, I want every animal in my care to feel safe, comfortable and well looked after. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available throughout the week, including weekends. I can adapt my availability to your pet’s routine and care needs, and provide reliable, consistent care. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing always come first. In your home, I will respect your space, follow your instructions carefully and keep your pet’s usual routines. I will also keep you updated with photos and let you know if I notice anything unusual.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for pets, particularly cats, as I have my own and understand their daily needs, including feeding, grooming, cleaning litter trays, playtime, and providing plenty of affection and attention. I am comfortable recognising changes in their behaviour and making sure they feel safe and cared for. I also have experience walking and looking after dogs, ensuring they get the exercise, attention, and care they need. I am patient, reliable, and confident handling pets of different personalities. I understand how important it is to follow owners’ routines and instructions, and I will always treat every pet as if they were my own, making their wellbeing and happiness my top priority. I’m currently off university and work part-time, which means I have a flexible schedule and can often accommodate pet care at short notice. I always know my shifts in advance, allowing me to plan visits and provide reliable, consistent care. I’m happy to work with your pet’s routine to ensure they feel comfortable and well looked after. I understand how important it is for cats to feel safe and comfortable in their own home. I’ll follow your cat’s usual routine, including feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter trays, administering medication if instructed, and providing playtime or quiet company depending on their personality. I’ll treat your home with respect, keep it secure, and send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your cat is happy and well cared for
About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life! Growing up, my family had two wonderful dogs, Jazz and Charly. My parents also regularly looked after friends’ and family members’ dogs, since they worked from home and could give them plenty of walks, playtime, and relaxation. Being raised in this environment taught me the importance of caring for animals with love, consistency, and presence. It also showed me just how much better life is with animals around! In addition to dogs, I also have a horse named Lincoln, and I absolutely love animals of all kinds. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments from energetic puppies to senior dogs as well as experience with horses and donkeys. Sadly, we lost our beloved dog Charly last August. Since then, I’ve moved from Canada to Scotland to pursue a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy. While it’s been an incredible adventure, I’ve deeply missed having animals in my daily life. That’s why I joined Rover to spend time with amazing pets and help give owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members are safe, happy, and well-cared-for while they’re away. Rover also helps me support my education and living expenses during school. But most importantly, it gives me the opportunity to do something I genuinely love: spending time with animals and meeting wonderful people along the way. Pet care fits perfectly into my current schedule. I have the most availability on Wednesdays and weekends, which gives me dedicated time to focus on caring for pets. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or check-ins, or anything they may need. When caring for pets in a pet owner's home, I always aim to follow their regular routine as closely as possible from feeding schedules and walk times to play and cuddle time! I take note of any specific instructions or preferences, and make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I also keep the home tidy and send regular updates so owners know everything is going smoothly. If I’m caring for pets in my own home, I make sure the space is safe, calm, and welcoming. I provide plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, and always ensure pets have a cozy place to relax. My goal is to make every pet feel like part of the family while they’re in my care

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats my entire life, so I’m very comfortable caring for animals of all sizes and temperaments—from small breeds to large, high-energy dogs. I’ve been dog and cat sitting for over 10 years for family, friends, and others, covering everything from walks and feeding to overnight care. I understand how important routine and trust are when looking after someone’s pet. I’m very active and can offer both short walks and longer, more energetic outings depending on your dog’s needs, as well as calm, reliable care for cats. I currently have a very open schedule. I am available 7 days a week at all reasonable hours. I can be booked in advance or on short notice :) I have lots of experience animal sitting in others homes, I am more than happy to do quick drop in visits or longer visits if preferred.

This was the first time we left Sprout for a couple of days and as you might imagine that is quite scary. I cannot recommend Holly highly enough. She put our minds totally at rest while on holiday. We received daily updates showing us how relaxed and comfortable our labradors Alfie and Ruby were, totally spoiled. Pictures of her playing with them in the garden and out for walks. Alfie sometimes suffers from itchy skins his nose and eyes suffer too. Holly text as she was concerned, we told her to put him back on his medication. She text to let us know it has settle down again. I have no hesitation recommending Holly for housing sitting she was a total star. I had to laugh my neighbours saw her out walking them, they ask how well behaved they were yet when they see me their pulling like mad and barking. Hollys given me some tips to try fingers crossed I get as good as her.

Cannot recommend Leony enough she is brilliant - if I could give her 10 stars 🌟 I would. Such a lovely person and our cat was so well cared for and good updates during our stay away and came back to a very happy cat and lovely clean home. Booked again already for another getaway knowing our cat and home are in good hands. Thanks Leony you are amazing 🥰

We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! Darien took such amazing care of our dog, giving her plenty of cuddles, taking her on walks, and making sure she was well fed and happy. It was clear she genuinely cared for her, and knowing she was in such kind and loving hands gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We came home to a very happy, relaxed dog. Thank you so much for everything, we’d happily book with you again and highly recommend you!

Madeline looked after Oz so well for us while we were away. When we came back he was happy and calm and had obviously enjoyed having her stay. She’s very contentious and I was confident she would deal with any issues that came up while we were away, Oz has had problems with his legs so this level of care was very important to us. Thank you very much 😊

Grace was absolutely tremendous while watching my boys. Apollo took to her straight away and was very happy all day. She was extremely attentive, followed every instruction and provided regular updates throughout the day. Could not have asked for a better sitter and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Kasie house sat for our 9 month working retriever who went into season just before the booked dates. Kasie was not phased at all and took everything in her stride. Kasie is a great communicator, she is confident, calm, caring and extremely competent. We would not hesitate to have Kasie look after Harley again.

This is the first time we had used this service for our labrador Lola and we were a little bit nervous as to how she would respond. However, Kiarra seemed to have the magic touch putting her at ease almost immediately. Kiarra's communication was excellent, sending us photos of Lola doing all her favourite things. This allowed us to relax and enjoy our holiday. Lola seemd very settled when we got back - already missing Kiarra i think. We would have no hesitation in using Kiarra again and are already looking at dates.

Mia was amazing, gave great daily updates, spent a lot of time with my cats, and ensured they were greatly looked after. She absolutely cares a lot for animals, which shows in her work. I will absolutely rebook with her in the future, and cannot recommend her enough.

Gen was great! She came out to meet the dogs before the sitting and this was very useful. The dogs were happy to see her and settled well. I was kept updated with photos and messages on a regular basis. The house was also well cared for and all plants still alive !! Perfect service … thank you again Gen !!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aberdeen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
