“If I could leave 6 stars I would! Leony completely put my mind at ease when I was away for a week, the longest I’ve ever left my cat, but I had no reason to worry, not only did she ask questions to make sure she was completely comfortable with my cats habits and routine but she was also so communicative while I was away! I could not have asked for a better sitter! Will definitely be booking her again!”

“Grace was so lovely when we met her for the meet and greet. She took the time to listen to all of my dogs needs and quirks. My dog can be quite anxious but she took to Grace straight away and it was clear in the photos shared with us on each visit that she was always happy and well looked after. Thanks so much Grace!”

About: I’ve looked after my dog since she was a puppy in 2015. I hold most responsibility over her, feeding and walking her. I love playing with her and giving her the attention she deserves. I also own many fish that i feed multiple times a day and love them to bits ! I’m currently a university student so have quite a free schedule !!! I typically go to university for a few hours a day a week and some days i have nothing, so am quite available to anything I live in a flat, with a shared garden, which goes mainly unused by the other residents, it is fenced off from other gardens. I’m typically a clean person so if any accidents occur such as having an accident on the carpet or floor, it’s not a bother to clean up no worries !

About: Throughout my life i’ve owned and taken care of Dogs, Cats - including kittens, Reptiles and other “wacky” animals - Such as Snails, Vampire Crabs, Insects, and Frogs, However I have basic knowledge revolving around most animal care. I have also done basic training for my dog and cat. I’m currently working part time, so have plenty of time to work with animals, aswell as extremely active so can take animals on walks for long timings if needed. I can not house animals at my personal home, however I can happily travel upwards of 30 minutes for home sitting and walks - as well as provide excellent overnight services where needed as I am extremely adaptive and can wake multiple times during the night if your pet requires additional support.
About: I had a wide variety of pets growing up. I've always had positive experiences with pets, and i even look after my friends pets when they're away for trips. I am a student at the University of Aberdeen. I have a flexible schedule which allows me to look after your fur baby whenever is required. I have a shared, walled garden, i am also willing to travel to make sure your pet is comfortable and feels safe. I'm also a short walk away from a park and the beach :)

“Freja provided drop-in visits and dog walking for over a week. Response time and communication were excellent. Freja took excellent care of our dog and will happily ask if she can look after him again, we would highly recommend to others.”

About: I’ve owned and cared for two dogs over the past 10 years, so I’m very familiar with daily routines, feeding, walking, and giving lots of attention and care. I’ve also house sat and dog sat for friends and family, caring for pets in their own homes and making sure they stay comfortable in their usual routine. In addition, I’ve volunteered and helped host fundraisers for my local animal shelter, which has given me even more experience around different dogs and personalities. I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes and energy levels, and I understand how to read their behaviour to make sure they feel safe and comfortable. Being away from my own dogs while studying abroad has made me miss that companionship, which is why I genuinely love spending time with animals and treating them like my own. I’m currently an international student from Canada completing my bachelor’s degree, which gives me a flexible schedule throughout the week. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and check-ins during both weekdays and weekends, and I’m able to adjust my routine to fit your pet’s needs. I’m currently unable to host pets in my own home as I’m living in student accommodation, but I’m very comfortable caring for pets in their own home where they feel most relaxed and secure. I always follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, walk preferences, and any specific instructions you provide. I take safety seriously on walks, ensuring dogs are always securely leashed (unless instructed otherwise) and in safe environments. I treat every home with respect and always aim to create a calm, positive experience for your pet.
About: i’ve been cat sitting for other families since I was 16 and I have had many cats in my own family all throughout my life. I have always been the crazy cat lady in my family and I absolutely adore my little cuddly kitties. I have always been asked by neighbours and family friends to look after their cats while they have been on vacation and I love doing it! I am very experienced with all types of cats whether they are social or a little more reserved. I have also done a three week internship in a cattery when I was 16 so am confident when giving medicine and cleaning cats. I am able to see cats every day in my weekly routine. If you require me to spend more than one 1-hour visit a day with you cat then just reach out and I will see what my schedule is like! I am always very careful to open doors when first entering your home, just in case your little one is waiting to come out. I will always go slowly and gently with your cat at first and let them know that they are in charge of how the pet care is going to be. I always want your cats to trust me, however I understand that some cats are too timid and do not want to speak and that is perfectly fine.
“Indya just loves Kiarra. I feel safe leaving Indya in Kiarras care, she's respectful, trustworthy and gives me the best updates and photos whilst I am away ❤️🥰 she's became my go to catsitter when I am taking weekends away 🙏❤️”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Aberdeen
Kasie has been wonderful looking after our cat. We received regular updates after every visit, along with some lovely photos, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. She adapted brilliantly to our cat's needs and was incredibly accommodating throughout. Our cat seemed very relaxed and settled with her, which says it all. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kasie to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive cat sitter!

Madeline took excellent care of our cat Hamish while we were away on holiday. She took the time to get to know him and understand his personality (sassy!). Madeline gave us brilliant daily updates and made sure we knew how each visit had gone. We would not hesitate to book Madeline again for cat sitting.

Grace was so lovely when we met her for the meet and greet. She took the time to listen to all of my dogs needs and quirks. My dog can be quite anxious but she took to Grace straight away and it was clear in the photos shared with us on each visit that she was always happy and well looked after. Thanks so much Grace!

Kiara was amazing, I needed a last minute visit for my cat. She stayed over an hr each day with my cat and played with him. I got daily report cards with pictures that I looked forward to each day. He was belly up in almost all of them so I know he enjoyed her company. I will definitely be booking her again in the future!

Ashton was a pleasure to work with and I would absolutely recommend him! He responded quickly to correspondence and it was very easy to get details sorted out. My cat is naturally shy, but she was ok with him in my presence. He followed instructions well and was friendly, courteous and professional :)

Alfie & Ruby were excited to see Holly. As this is the first time Holly will be dog sitting we showed her round the house , garden & to go over daily routines behaviour sleep pattern walks & food etc. She has put us completely at ease for when we go off on our trip. Svitlana looked after my cat with drop in visits for 1 week while we went on holiday. I got daily check in reports and pictures. My cat is nervous but she looked happy in the photos, and seemed very comfortable with Svitlana after only a few days. My cat is really happy now we are home, but seems like she really liked Svitlana. My flat was tidy and all my cats chores have been done the whole week. Overall, very happy and my cat seems like she was very happy to be looked after by Svitlana. I will definitely rebook for future trips.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aberdeen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
