“Elayna did an excellent job. We have a timid 6 month old lab and Elayna was very patient and gentle with him until he felt comfortable. They were best buds by the end of their time together! Would highly recommend Elayna for dog sitting or popping in to check on your pup 🐾”

“If I could leave 6 stars I would! Leony completely put my mind at ease when I was away for a week, the longest I’ve ever left my cat, but I had no reason to worry, not only did she ask questions to make sure she was completely comfortable with my cats habits and routine but she was also so communicative while I was away! I could not have asked for a better sitter! Will definitely be booking her again!”

“Kasie is a respectful, responsible, attentive, kind and sweet cat sitter. During her first visit, she arrived on time and took excellent care of our cat, Angus. She approached him gently and tried to play, but today, Angus was not that playful, so she respected his space when he preferred to be on his own. Kasie gave him fresh food, checked his water, attempted to brush him, and ensured that his litter box was clean. We felt very comfortable knowing that Angus was in such good hands, and we would be happy and lucky to book Kasie again :)”

“Very grateful for Kiarra's help with our cats! We booked a last minute drop-in visit while we were away in town and she took amazing care of our sweet boys, sending us updates and pictures on how they were getting on. She has such a kind energy and professional outlook that we are sure to book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Alfie & Ruby were excited to see Holly. As this is the first time Holly will be dog sitting we showed her round the house , garden & to go over daily routines behaviour sleep pattern walks & food etc. She has put us completely at ease for when we go off on our trip. Holly took time to listen to all Alfie & Rubys needs and that we will be very happy leaving them with her know that they will be well and truly looked after.”

About: I have dog sat as a teenager for family friends and now in my adult life I have previously lived with a very nervous rescue dog who needed lots of extra care and attention and have lived with 3 energetic border collies in my last relationship. I LOVE all animals and now that I’m at a point of not living in a home with any pets I am really excited to help take care of your little furry family members :) I have experience with reactive dogs and am happy to help with any specific needs your dog has/take into consideration anything that needs to be avoided. “Caitlin comes once a week to drop in on my puppy while I’m at uni. She has took the time to get him comfortable as he is a nervous puppy and is able to settle him while he is currently getting used to being alone. Definitely recommend ☺️”

About: I have loved and been around dogs my whole life, growing up with dogs of my own and caring for many different breeds, ages and personalities over the years. I understand that dogs thrive with structure, routine and trust. As every dog is different, I know that some may be food-oriented, some more toy-oriented, and others may need patience, compassion and reassurance. I house-sat for a family friend for 2 weeks, caring for their 10 dogs and making sure each one received attention, exercise, and care that they needed. I have also cared for another friend's 2 dogs (alongside their 3 cats) while house-sitting, following their usual routines, making sure they got their medications, and making sure they felt happy and secure while their owner was away. Additionally, my own dog suffered from a slipped disc and had to undergo surgery, during her period of rehabilitation I, alongside my mum, gave her medications to make sure she was comfortable. She was able to be walked in a full-body-weight support harness, with me supporting her entire body weight to avoid putting too much strain on her back when taking her out to do the toilet. In addition, I performed her physiotherapy exercises, instructed by the vet, multiple times a day to ensure her swift recovery. Now, 3 years later, she is fully healed and as happy and comfortable as ever. From these experiences, I understand the importance of noticing changes in your dog's behaviour and health. Having had dogs throughout my life, I will always treat every dog in my care with the same love, respect and attention I would give my own. Currently, I have just finished my university degree, so I have an abundance of free time. I will be looking for and applying to some part-time jobs, so my availability may change. When caring for pets in an owner's home, I make it a priority to keep them comfortable by maintaining their usual routines as closely as possible. I follow feeding schedules, provide fresh water, clean litter trays, and spend quality time playing and interacting with them, making sure they get plenty of attention and affection. Having cared for cats and dogs of different ages and personalities, from kittens and puppies to a senior cat with additional care needs, as well as my dog recovering from spinal surgery, I understand the importance of monitoring their well-being and recognising when something may be wrong. I am very comfortable following specific instructions for pets with unique routines or requirements. I believe pets are happiest when they feel safe and secure in their familiar environment, so I always treat both the pets and the owners' home with respect. I also provide regular updates and photos, giving owners peace of mind while they are away.
About: I’ve had pets my entire life, and caring for animals has always been a huge part of who I am. I’m now 22 and currently have two dogs and five cats of my own, so I understand the love, attention, and patience pets need every day. I’ve grown up caring for dogs of all sizes, from small breeds to large breeds, and I also have experience caring for litters of kittens, small animals, birds, and reptiles. Over the years, family and friends have trusted me to look after their pets while they’re away, giving me experience with a wide range of personalities and needs. I’m especially patient with shy or nervous pets and always take the time to help them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Animals truly are my passion, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I have experience with reactive dogs, just let me know in advance so we can plan around it. I am constantly trying to better myself with online CPD courses on dog training, behaviour and canine communication. Fully insured and looking forward to meeting my new best friends❤️ I am currently working full time, however most of my shifts finish around 12:30/1:30pm, so I have the time for my new besties. All walks and drop in visits will be carefully planned and fitted into the schedule. Please let me know your preferences on dealing with your pets as I would like to honour them. I have a car with back seat cover, hopefully will be able to upgrade to a van soon. I will make sure to check all doors and windows are closed and locked upon leaving.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Aberdeen
I was very happy with the service that Kiera provided. My mind was put at ease, with photos and comments about how Rosie was getting on. My cat is very nervous of strangers, so by knowing that Rosie was well looking after, was a blessing. I can't thank Kiara enough. I would highly recommend Kiara to anyone who is looking for a cat sitter nearby. I will definitely be booking with Kiera again.

Elayna did a great job with our two girls while we were away for 10 days. She was super attentive and kept them active as well as keeping everything clean and tidy. Both our cats took to her quickly and clearly loved her visits. Our shy girl especially loved the extra treats! I would definitely recommend Elayna for her pet sitting services to anyone.

Madeline looked after my Cat Arlo, taking fantastic care of him whilst I was travelling, very attentive and provides regular updates which is super helpful to keep my mind at ease. I would highly recommend Madeline to anyone looking for a caring individual to look after their pet.

Reah has looked after our cat, Nika, a few times now, and it is always reassuring to know she is in good hands. We really appreciate the updates and attention she gives Nika while we’re away, and Nika clearly feels comfortable with her, which gives us real peace of mind! We had very limited phone signal on this trip and weren’t able to check in as much as usual, so it was especially comforting to know that everything was being taken care of. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Reah to anyone looking for a caring & reliable cat sitter 😻

Svitlana looked after my cat with drop in visits for 1 week while we went on holiday. I got daily check in reports and pictures. My cat is nervous but she looked happy in the photos, and seemed very comfortable with Svitlana after only a few days. My cat is really happy now we are home, but seems like she really liked Svitlana. My flat was tidy and all my cats chores have been done the whole week. Overall, very happy and my cat seems like she was very happy to be looked after by Svitlana. I will definitely rebook for future trips.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
