“My 2 chihuahuas had a wonderful experience staying with Jane, I thoroughly recommend her. She has a lovely calm and kind personality which was great for my 2 nervous boys, they were very reassured in her presence. She was also very flexible when working with me on a change of dates which I really appreciated.”

“Emma and Rivers were amazing with Broxi. They helped us out last minute and I felt good knowing he was going to be looked after well. They were really appreciative of the fact that he can’t really be left alone and were able to facilitate that with their schedules. He had a lovely time and we got updates as needed. Thank you both again.”

“Ellie put up with my overload of messages asking how my baby was and sent me video after video, letting me know exactly how she was doing when I needed it, I would definitely recommend, such a calm environment x”

About: I've grown up in a family that has always loved dogs, so caring for them has been a natural part of my life from a young age. I truly enjoy being around dogs and understand the love, attention, and patience they need to thrive. As a dog owner myself, I have hands-on experience with daily care, exercise, enrichment, and understanding that every dog has their own unique personality and needs. I'm currently completing additional training to further develop my knowledge and skills, allowing me to provide the highest standard of care. My goal is to ensure that both you and your dog feel comfortable, supported, and confident while in my care. I will always take the time to understand your dog's routine, preferences, and needs so that both you and your furry friend have the best possible experience. As a student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to the dogs in my care. From September 2026, I will be attending campus three days a week during term time, with my timetable to be confirmed. I will always ensure your dog receives the attention, exercise, companionship, and routine they need to feel happy and settled. Your dog's safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. I live in a quiet, dog-friendly neighbourhood and provide a calm, child-free and cat-free environment. My home is kept clean and secure to minimise hazards, and I have a large crate available if required. I take the time to understand each dog's individual needs, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for throughout their stay.

“Zhi looked after my elderly lab Milo for a few hours. Milo has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and needs insulin injections. I was very happy to leave Milo in Zhi’s care and for him to do the evening injection. Zhi is caring but also very professional in his approach. His home is perfect for Milo who could roam securely in the garden and sit in the sun. A very positive experience for both Milo and myself.”

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover and proud owner of a sweet 16-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, so caring for pets is second nature to me. Over the last 16 years, I’ve learned patience, attention, routine, affection, and became someone who truly notices a pet with their personalities, habits and moods. I understand how important it is to trust the person looking after your dog. Whether your pup is energetic and playful, anxious and shy, or older and needing a gentler pace, I always adapt my care to their personality and needs. Living with a senior Yorkie has taught me to be especially mindful of safety, comfort, medication routines, slower walks, and giving pets emotional reassurance when they need it. know how important updates are, so you can expect regular photos, messages, and peace of mind while your dog is in my care. I am working full time with an hour lunchbreak, so am available mid day, evenings and weekends to give your pet all the attention they desire. I am happy to walk, check on your pet and give the attention each pet deserves. The service would be adapted to your instructions, pets' needs and schedule.

“Very happy with Rodger's communication and attitude. He cared for Suki for a night so she would get more comfortable with him and his place before he takes her for a longer boarding over Christmas. Rodger is very accommodating, kind and you can tell he loves dogs as he's got a great approach. Lots of updates and photos, and Suki seemed happy and comfortable with him 😊 Will be booking again for sure!”

“My dog has stayed with Eury many times, mainly day care, occasionally for a weekend, but for the first time he stayed for 2 weeks yet I wasn’t at all worried about leaving him as I know he gets the best care. Eury and her family, as usual, did an amazing job keeping him happy, healthy and exercised providing updates and photos of him having a fantastic holiday with them. Thank you Eury, Ronald and especially Simon for taking such good care of my crazy boy. What a team!!! Happy to recommend x”

After returning from our holiday, our pet came out as a new dog! Happy, fit and well loved! Our dog generally requires a lot of exercise and Rodger provided plenty of exercise, love, care and attention. The best during the holiday was to receive the updates and photos of Amber! Rodger communicated very well and established a good relationship with Amber! We will be leaving Amber with Rodger in the future! Rita & David

Rebecca and Jamie was absolutely fantastic with my dog he had the best time and little holidays with them. Rebecca was sending updates and pictures and Lilo was looking like a one happy little boy, we definitely recommend them as a sitters and Lilo will be coming back to stay with them again ☺️

I had an excellent experience with Shaimaa, she quickly replied to my initial enquiry and we set up a Meet and Greet. That went well and she showed us her home where Romy would be staying, her garden and we went for a walk in a nearby park. On the day the drop off went smoothly and she double checked exactly when to feed Romy and how much. The stay was for three nights and Shaimaa kept in touch sending regular messages and photos. At the end she even took Romy and his gear down to the car for me. I was very happy with Shaimaa and would not hesitate to use her again and to highly recommend her.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
