“My 2 chihuahuas had a wonderful experience staying with Jane, I thoroughly recommend her. She has a lovely calm and kind personality which was great for my 2 nervous boys, they were very reassured in her presence. She was also very flexible when working with me on a change of dates which I really appreciated.”

“Niko stayed 2 nights with Jemma and he opened up to her in one afternoon ! Mind you he’s a really anxious dog and a Shiba but he was already sleeping soundly and even had a bath . Will definitely schedule again in the near future.”

About: I've grown up in a family that has always loved dogs, so caring for them has been a natural part of my life from a young age. I truly enjoy being around dogs and understand the love, attention, and patience they need to thrive. As a dog owner myself, I have hands-on experience with daily care, exercise, enrichment, and understanding that every dog has their own unique personality and needs. I'm currently completing additional training to further develop my knowledge and skills, allowing me to provide the highest standard of care. My goal is to ensure that both you and your dog feel comfortable, supported, and confident while in my care. I will always take the time to understand your dog's routine, preferences, and needs so that both you and your furry friend have the best possible experience. As a student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to the dogs in my care. From September 2026, I will be attending campus three days a week during term time, with my timetable to be confirmed. I will always ensure your dog receives the attention, exercise, companionship, and routine they need to feel happy and settled. Your dog's safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. I live in a quiet, dog-friendly neighbourhood and provide a calm, child-free and cat-free environment. My home is kept clean and secure to minimise hazards, and I have a large crate available if required. I take the time to understand each dog's individual needs, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for throughout their stay.
“I recently boarded my Cocker Spaniel with Cami for a week, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. From the moment we dropped him off, Cami showed genuine care and kindness, which immediately put us at ease. Throughout the week, we received regular updates—photos, videos, and messages—which really helped us stay connected and reassured us that our pup was in safe hands. It was clear that Cami treated him with the same love and attention we would at home. My dog seemed so comfortable and happy, which says a lot about how gentle and attentive Cami was. I highly recommend Cami to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate caregiver for their pet. We’ll definitely be reaching out again in the future!”

“Kayleigh and family looked after Rufus for 3 weeks in July. They took exceptionally good care of Rufus so we were very happy and will definitely use Kayleigh again. - Plenty of walks and excercise - Nice house and garden in a nice area, so we knew Rufus would be safe and secure - They have a small dog who was a good companion for Rufus - Socialising with other dogs, which was good for Rufus - Daily updates with lots of photos gave peace of mind”

“Rebecca was absolutely amazing!! She made murphy so welcome in her house and sent a load of photos through the day to keep our minds at rest. He was well exercised and plenty of cuddles and when we came to pick him up he clearly wanted to stay. We will 100% use Rebecca again for looking after murphy and highly recommend her to others”

“Haley was amazing! Her communication before and during Steely’s stay was excellent and she was keen to find out as many details about Steely as possible. She kept us updated with photos and videos and it was evident Steely had a wonderful time! Thanks so much Haley!”

About: I’ve been walking dogs on and off for years, and I’m most experienced with medium-sized dogs, reading their energy, knowing when they need a slower pace or a proper run. I spent years working offshore, which meant I could never have a dog of my own. Looking after your dog gives me the chance to give that care and attention I’ve always wanted to give - so your dog gets someone who’s genuinely invested, not just clocking in. I work from home, so pet care fits naturally into my day rather than being squeezed around a commute. That means regular walks, company throughout the day, and no dog left alone for long stretches. I’m based in Rubislaw, which puts me close to some brilliant walking spots - Harlaw Playing Fields, Hazlehead Woods, and the best parts of the West End - so there’s plenty of variety for dogs who like a proper sniff around versus a good run. Spacious, secure Rubislaw apartment with space for a medium-size crate. I’m happy to tailor the home setup to your dog’s preference, whether crate or free roam.
“Jack did a great job looking after our crazy young Cocker Spaniel at short notice, though I think he was very glad to hand him back! Thanks for taking good care of him. He was also very accommodating of our last-minute change of times, and that was very much appreciated.”

“Leah cared for our two doggies like they were her own and spoilt them rotten. She put us at ease from our first meeting before our holidays and continuously updated us on our dogs and sent beautiful pictures. She gives five star care for pets and our family can’t recommend her enough xxx”

“Jenna was a life saver when we needed a last minute overnight book. She was very patient with Lola and her needs, Lola was very welcomed and felt safe with her. Good communication throughout the stay with me and we would highly recommend her!”

Jane was a lovely, calm, and considerate boarder! She took on all of my crazy collie’s quirks and showered her with love whilst I was away for a work trip and I also really really appreciated her coming to meet us for a walk to get to know Millie first 😊 Millie came home tuckered out after loads of exercise and fun with Jane. Would definitely recommend!!

Angela and her family were absolutely amazing with Lana! Went above and beyond to look after her as she wasn’t feeling 100% when we dropped her but Angela and family kindly still took her in and cared for her amazingly! Thank you so much. Would 100% recommend and use again.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Shaimaa, she is an absolutely wonderful dog-sitter and a very lovely person. The fact that she is also vet qualified only adds to the peace of mind. I have left my pug Celeste in Shaimaa’s care three times now for a number of days, and have been kept updated regularly and been able to completely relax when away. Shaimaa offers one to one care, lots of walkies, follows feeding and medication instructions and I am so happy to have found such a wonderful dog-sitter. I just hope she doesn’t get too booked up!!! I like the pre-pay on booking system as it saves another expense when you actually go on holiday and also gives peace of mind that you are sorted for future holidays. Thanks Shaimaa, Celeste loves you ❤️🐾💕🐾❤️

Leah cared for our two doggies like they were her own and spoilt them rotten. She put us at ease from our first meeting before our holidays and continuously updated us on our dogs and sent beautiful pictures. She gives five star care for pets and our family can’t recommend her enough xxx

Zoe was great while Ellie was boarding with her for two nights over a weekend. She was excellent with communication from the start, and was also very accommodating when we needed to adjust our drop-off and pick-up times. During Ellie's stay, we received plenty of photos and updates, and was well looked after. We'd definitely recommend Zoe to anyone looking for a reliable dog sitter, and will be booking Ellie with her again.

After returning from our holiday, our pet came out as a new dog! Happy, fit and well loved! Our dog generally requires a lot of exercise and Rodger provided plenty of exercise, love, care and attention. The best during the holiday was to receive the updates and photos of Amber! Rodger communicated very well and established a good relationship with Amber! We will be leaving Amber with Rodger in the future! Rita & David

Evelyn has been amazing with both of my dogs both for daycare and boarding. Recently she had my puppy Diana for 2 nights and I can tell she had such a nice time! I got lots of updates and pictures which I really appreciated and Diana came home very happy, thank you Evelyn ☺️

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
