“Very happy with Rodger's communication and attitude. He cared for Suki for a night so she would get more comfortable with him and his place before he takes her for a longer boarding over Christmas. Rodger is very accommodating, kind and you can tell he loves dogs as he's got a great approach. Lots of updates and photos, and Suki seemed happy and comfortable with him 😊 Will be booking again for sure!”

“Second time and couldn’t be better! Mayo really enjoy this small holidays and Mapple is the only dog that she is really confident for playing, was really good see the videos of them playing together, I think Mayo can’t wait to the next time, thanks :)”

“Daisy and her boyfriend took great care of our dog. She really went above and beyond for him and us. She worked hard to make him feel comfortable as he is a very anxious dog. She was also really accommodating for all his complex needs. He seemed really happy and well looked after when we got him home. Id highly recommend her as a dog sitter.”

“Super flexible and understanding, Stephanie is clearly super experienced and knowledgeable on dogs and all their weird and wonderful needs and behaviours which was super appreciated! Millie had a fantastic time with Hope & Boris. Would definitely recommend! 🫶🏻”

“Evelyn took the best care of my little kitty, and on such short notice too. She was really good at providing updates throughout my pets' stay with her and made sure my little guy enjoyed himself. Couldn't ask for a better pet sitter :)”

“Emma and Rover were fantastic with our little terroir dog. From our first meeting, it was clear they genuinely cared, and I felt confident he was in good hands. We maintained excellent communication throughout, and he returned home a happy little dude.”

“Glen and his family were fab! Daisy had the honor of being their first official Rover guest which she was happy about. We were struggling to find someone to look after Daisy and Glen was happy to help at short notice. He made us feel very comfortable about leaving Daisy with his family. We got daily pupdates and plenty of photos. Daisy went on lots of adventures with the family and she looked like she had the best time. She was one tired pup when we took her home, which is good for us :) we would highly recommend to other and will definitely be in touch in the future :) x”

“Asha had a great time with Jemma overnight and was spoiled! We got lots of photos and Jemma even dealt with an unexpected tic! Would definitely recommend and will definitely use Jemma again for dog sitting. Thank you so much :)”

“I cannot recommend Celeste highly enough. From the moment we first met, she was warm, friendly and an absolute pleasure to deal with. It was clear straight away how much she genuinely loves and cares for the dogs she looks after. Daisy had a wonderful stay and was treated like one of the family, with plenty of walks, attention and affection. It was so reassuring to receive regular updates, along with photos and videos, which showed just how happy and settled Daisy was. Knowing that Daisy was in such caring and capable hands gave me complete peace of mind. I would not hesitate to leave Daisy with Celeste again and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, trustworthy and dedicated dog sitter.”

“Another great stay for Harley with Zhi! Harley was happy to be back and settled quickly. With lots of photos and videos from Zhi during her stay we could be relaxed and know that Harley was in great hands with Zhi and his dog Dream. Harley slept and ate well, had lots of fun playtimes and several walks each day. We cannot recommend Zhi highly enough!”

“Dolce had a better holiday than us, she was so well looked after by Amy who set us daily pupdates and made us feel at ease being away from our doggo for 10 days! Will definitely book again! And again, and again!”

“We were so glad to have Sean looking after our dog for 11 days. With his rich knowledge and experience, our dog had become calm and relaxed once he arrived at Sean’s home. We were rest assured that our dog would be doing well. Our dog is a timid one, Sean let him socialize with other dogs and people, teaching him to be gentle and calm. From the videos taken by Sean every day, we could see how cheerful and playful our dog was. Definitely we will come back on the next occasion.”

“We have never left Remi with strangers before so we were a little concerned leaving our little boy behind. Why did we worry, Euri and her husband were just perfect. Remi loved his stay, had lots of walks and love. We would have no hesitation recommending Euri and will definitely be in contact again if Remi needs a kind, loving place to stay.”

“My 2 chihuahuas had a wonderful experience staying with Jane, I thoroughly recommend her. She has a lovely calm and kind personality which was great for my 2 nervous boys, they were very reassured in her presence. She was also very flexible when working with me on a change of dates which I really appreciated.”

“Our dog, Storm was treated really well, getting lots of treats and toys, taken out for walks and given plenty attention. He was well taken care of, and we got plenty photos and videos, which kept us updated and we enjoyed seeing them. When our Storm was slightly sick, Ellie was really worried and contacted us immediately, and once we got photos of it, we could quickly reassure her that it was nothing to be worried about. And we were really grateful for Ellie’s care and attention for Storm. We would happily book her again.”

“This is the second time we have booked Molly to look after Cooper. She is absolutely excellent in looking after Cooper, making sure he has plenty of exercise and enrichment and is very good and making him feel at ease and feel at home. Molly is really good and sending updates and replies quickly if you need to reach out for anything. We will continue to use Molly to look after Cooper”

“Zoe is so lovely and took such good care of our boy when we needed a dog-sitter unexpectedly. Not only that, but we have a terrier who takes time to get to know people before being friendly and he took an immediate like to Zoe. That, to me, is the best praise there could be”

“Thanks for looking after Huxley. He is a very high energy spaniel and Kieran had a nice calming manner with him. We loved getting a photo of him snuggled on the sofa looking very happy. Thanks again!”

Can not thank Lauren enough for taking such great care of Archie and Seymour!! She was really friendly, had a lovely nature and had great communication. She looked after the two of them amazingly! Would highly recommend Lauren and would not hesitate to have the two of them stay again if we were back in Aberdeen!

Fantastic. Our dogs usually stay with relatives however due to illness we were left without care at very short notice. Bruna messaged and everything arranged hassle free. Regular photos and updates showed our dogs having the best time. Niw home our dogs are still resting after what must have been a fun packed weekend. Highly recommend.

My dog Meryl had a great time at Eury’s. Lots of walks by the river, in parks and at the beach and lots of pictures and updates. We arranged a meet up before the booking and Meryl loved it and was happy to see Eury at drop off. Eury and her family are so friendly and absolutely love animals. I’ll definitely be booking Eury again.

Carla has looked after our golden retriever Mabel multiple times and it has always been a great experience. Carla is very accommodating and sends adorable picture updates of Mabel and Billie together. Mabel absolutely loves staying with them and we will continue to use Carla for boarding and would highly recommend her to anyone.

This was my first time using Rover, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Evelyn was absolutely amazing with my dog, Walter, and put my mind at ease from the very beginning. She kept me updated with messages and photos, and it was clear that Walter was happy, well looked after, and loved spending time with her. I was quite nervous about leaving him, but Evelyn made the whole experience stress-free. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy sitter, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Thank you so much, Evelyn!

A huge thank you to Camilo for looking after Betty at short notice. Camilo was always contactable, sent lots of pics each day and gave us lots of updates during Betty's stay. A huge thank you to Camilo’s mum for the lovely little gift she gave Betty when we picked her up 😊, Betty was clearly very relaxed in their company. Would 100% recommend.

Jane was a lovely, calm, and considerate boarder! She took on all of my crazy collie’s quirks and showered her with love whilst I was away for a work trip and I also really really appreciated her coming to meet us for a walk to get to know Millie first 😊 Millie came home tuckered out after loads of exercise and fun with Jane. Would definitely recommend!!

Angela and her family were absolutely amazing with Lana! Went above and beyond to look after her as she wasn’t feeling 100% when we dropped her but Angela and family kindly still took her in and cared for her amazingly! Thank you so much. Would 100% recommend and use again.

Leah cared for our two doggies like they were her own and spoilt them rotten. She put us at ease from our first meeting before our holidays and continuously updated us on our dogs and sent beautiful pictures. She gives five star care for pets and our family can’t recommend her enough xxx

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
