“I can highly recommend Kenneth! My Spaniel was very well looked after and treated as part of their family. It was clear from the initial meeting that Kenneth and his wife are dog people and that she would be in safe hands. Being able to go away knowing that my girl was safe and happy meant that I could enjoy myself and receiving a photo of her clearly having a great time with Alfie and Molly was great! 5* sitter will have no hesitation in recommending and booking again. Thank you!”

About: We’re retired and have shared our home with dogs for most of our married life. Having recently said goodbye to our beloved Springer Spaniel, Lucy, we’re not quite ready for another dog of our own, but we’d love to welcome yours into our home. With plenty of time, patience and affection to give, your dog will enjoy lots of company, walks, playtime, cuddles and individual care, with the comfort of knowing someone is at home throughout the day. Our children have grown and flown the nest, although our five grandchildren visit regularly, so our home is warm, friendly and full of life. We understand that every dog has their own personality and routine, and we’ll do everything we can to help them feel safe, happy and loved while you’re away. We’ll care for your dog, as we did with our own, giving you complete peace of mind. We are home all day so will always be on hand to attend to your dogs needs. We are early risers so can easily fit into your dogs regular routine. We have a fully enclosed garden and lots of green spaces nearby. We are happy taking your dog in the car, if this is something you’re comfortable with. We are happy to crate your dog or provide whatever sleeping space it’s used to. We can offer peace and quiet or playtime depending on your pets needs.
“We highly recommend Rachel and her lovely family especially her daughter Elly who cared for Toto so well 🐶. Toto clearly had the best time from all the photos and updates we were sent ❤️we were kept fully informed and felt completely at ease with Toto staying with Rachel and her family. We would not hesitate to rebook, Toto is already looking forward to his next stay 🐾🐾🐾.”

“Sharon looked after our dog Gus for a long weekend, we couldn’t recommend Sharon higher! We do a meet and greet the night before to meet them all. She instantly put us at ease and we felt so comfortable leaving Gus. She kept us updated throughout his stay, sent us lots of pictures and generally just delivered 5star care. We would absolutely use her again, she was utterly fantastic and Gus throughly enjoyed his trip”

“From the first time of meeting Loraine and Mick we knew Truffle would be safe and very well looked after. They are obviously dog lovers. When we dropped him off he went in very happily and upon collection he had obviously been happy staying there with his routine followed. Thank you Loraine and if you’ll have him back we would definitely use you again.”

“Logan was great with our Cockapoo. Took him on lots of outdoor activities and kept us updated regularly. We will be using Logan next time we require a dog sitter in the area. Big thanks.”

About: I have taken care of my own animals and those of friends and family for 10+ years. I have had my own dog, cats, guinea pigs and hamsters, and have taken care of animals of all shapes and sizes. I currently have two confident and dog-friendly cats. I have experience looking after animals with additional health or care needs, including elbow dysplasia, megaesophagus feeding requirements and giving routine medications. I currently work flexibly from home or in my office, depending on my work and personal schedule. I am able to be flexible, but usually work 9-6 with a lunch break for walks with furry friends. I have a fenced and good sized garden and pets have free roam of the house. Our cats come and go through their cat flap and are confident and friendly with dogs after a couple of meetings. For having dogs at my home, I’d like to understand their relationship and behaviour towards cats. In a pet owners home I would take instructions from the owner on how to care for their animals. I would treat their animals and home with respect and care, and would look to meet prior to be shown the home/where things are kept.
About: I have always loved dogs and had family dogs growing up. I have looked after and taken care of plenty of friends’ and family’s dogs to help out while they’ve been away since then! I work full time but do some work from home so can hopefully fit this around stays to be there for company. I have plenty of time for walks before and after work. I’m also often around at the weekends and love a good dog walk. I have a fenced garden so your dogs can spend time outside. I also live close to plenty of green space which is great for dog walks.

About: Laura and I have had dogs all our lives. We routinely dog sit for friends and family. We understand how challenging it can be to have a reliable carer for your dog that you can trust, allowing you to make the most of your time away. Having 3 dogs of varying ages (Axl (15), Chess (12) and Louie (4)), we know how important it is to be flexible in catering to your dog's specific requirements, whether that be medications, toilet routine, exercise or training. Although Chris doesn't hold formal qualification, he is something of a dog whisperer and can use some of the time with your dog to work on specific aspects of obedience with prior agreement. Our baby, TJ, was a 2025 addition to the family and has grown up around our dogs. Naturally, we could not board dogs with a history of agression towards other pets or humans/children. Daily routine - awake 0700-0730, breakfast 0800, dinner 1700, taken outside at 1 - 2 hour intervals throughout the day, short walk around lunchtime, longer walk in the afternoon (dog dependent), bedtime around 2230. Laura and I are currently balancing parental leave and part-time WFH, so there will always be at least one of us at home, if we're not out on a walk. We have a huge (0.25 acre) enclosed grass garden, ideal for training off-lead walking and recall. We are lucky to have locally accessible fields suitable for both on and off lead walks, depending on recall. If your dog travels well, local beaches and forests make for exciting longer adventures.

About: Hello, I’m Naomi, a 28-year-old Veterinary Nurse with a lifelong passion for animals. Choosing someone to care for your pet is a big decision, and I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust. As a Veterinary Nurse, I have extensive experience caring for animals of all ages, breeds, temperaments, and medical needs. I share my life with a dog of my own, so I know that pets are family. Whether your pet loves long walks, gentle strolls, playtime, cuddles on the sofa, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll tailor their care to suit their individual personality and routine. My professional background means I’m confident administering medication, monitoring health and wellbeing, recognising signs of illness, and caring for senior pets or those with additional needs. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my top priority. When your pet stays with me, they’ll be treated as if they were my own—with plenty of love, attention, enrichment, and care. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can relax knowing your best friend is in safe hands. I like to call them “pupdates”. I’d love to meet you and your pet and discuss how I can provide a happy, safe, and caring home-from-home experience while you’re away. 🐾 Feel free to get in touch—I look forward to meeting your furry family member! I work full-time as a Veterinary Nurse at a Veterinary practice in Inverness but I am available almost every weekend, and depending on my shift pattern, I can also provide evening care. I have a spacious, fenced garden, perfect for your pet to explore and play in. Our home is located in a rural area, providing a safe environment. We also have a Labrador with a wonderful temperament who has been raised with other dogs. He is crate trained and enjoys the freedom to move in and out of his crate as he pleases, making him a great companion for another dog.

About: I have had animals since I was a small child and started riding when I was 5. I have had cats most of my life and dogs since I was in my 20s. As well as having my own animal companions, I have been a keen horse riders most of my life and worked with horses/ponies over various times of my life. I have two lovely horses who I ride daily. My dream is to have a small croft where I can have a horse and lots of other animals: goats, sheep and hens. I have 4 collies (2 bitches/2 dogs) who I am bringing on and are well trained and excellent with other dogs. Two of my collies are sheepdogs and I train them regularly. They need a lot of mental and physical stimulation so I am out three times a day, either in the park playing football or further afield at the farm, beach, lochs woods or more rural areas to get plenty of uninterrupted doggo time. I am also experienced in breeding and have raised 3 litters of pups. I work from home Mon- Thùr and take my dogs out three times a day. Fridays and weekends are adventure/play time for longer walks, swimming or exploring new areas. I have a 6ft fenced garden with access to fields, walking tracks, woods. I transport my dogs in a Mitsubishi L200 that is kitted out with transport crates. We love beach time, outdoor swimming and collie-ball (football with collies). My dogs are my best friends and closest companions. I have a teenage son who assists with park and beach walks and shorter walks locally if they require 1:1 time. I work 4 days per week from home and have plenty of flexibility in my schedule. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are dedicated to family time and dog time with plenty of adventures 😀 we go on adventures daily and the dogs gets plenty of exercise at the farm where I keep my horse. I have an enclosed back garden and access to fenced fields for exercising the dogs. I am responsible and attuned to the needs of my animals. Health and safety comes first.

About: I have years of experience looking after all kinds of dogs. I have owned rescue dogs and ran a doggy day care centre as a previous job. I will treat your fur ball as if they are my own and enjoy long walks with my 2 own furry friends. I can adapt to your dogs needs and have experience looking after puppies and senior dogs. I work from home Tuesday to Friday so am here all day and will be with your dog all the time. I can walk them daily in the woods and they can run about the garden or have a nap in the house whenever they want. I have a large fenced garden and 2 dogs to keep your dog company. I live beside the woods which is easily accessible for walks. Your dog can sleep where ever they feel most comfortable and I will treat them like they are my own
“Laura was a wonderful overnight carer for our greyhound. He clearly enjoyed his walk and was completely relaxed and happy in Laura’s home. Always an anxious experience when you leave your dog with a new carer but Laura was totally relaxed and and clearly very competent.”

“We had not used a dog boarding service before and were quite apprehensive about leaving our Cocker Spaniel, Keira, with a stranger for two weeks. However, after our initial visit to meet Kerry and her own pets we felt more at ease and happy that Keira would be able to settle down with her new friends and family. During our holiday Kerry responded to our messages promptly and kept us informed about Keira’s integration into her new surroundings. I would say that Keira was made very welcome and possibly even spoiled by Kerry and her family so, she would have felt very comfortable in her new “home”. I can highly recommend Kerry as a dog boarder and would have no hesitation in using her services again. Thank you so much for looking after our precious pup. William”

“Sandra was a great cat-sitter whilst I was away last weekend. My cat went and stayed with her and Sandra took extra care of her individual needs, as well as her basic ones. Thanks so much Sandra - appreciated! Would recommend :)”

Riemu had an amazing time at Katrina’s, she would have happily stayed there longer, snoozing on the sofa!! She warmed to Katrina straight away and was very contented when I picked her up. Katrina was great at providing updates and pictures. Riemu also had a sore leg and Katrina adapted Riemu’s care to accommodate this, which I really appreciated. Thank you from me and Riemu!!!

Jemma was absolutely wonderful with Paco! We got daily photo updates, and it genuinely looked like he was on vacation—complete with a beach day at Nairn. He came home and gave us the side-eye, clearly wondering why we had taken him away from his holiday and when could he return please. Jemma was incredibly diligent, caring, and gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who treats your pup like royalty.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
