“Yulia was excellent with our dog Beasley! She was punctual, kind, and incredibly communicative -- and sent a thorough "Rover report card" with photos after each walk. Beasley can be anxious and shy around new people, and Yulia was incredibly patient with her. She read the room well, offered plenty of positive reinforcement, coaxed Beasley through stressful moments, and never pushed her beyond her limits. She even stayed a bit longer at the dog park to let Beasley decompress. We can't wait to book her again!”

“Lydia is awesome! Can’t say enough good things about her. She’s timely, communicative, and also I can tell she actually loves dogs and cares for them well. Definitely will be using her again!”

About: I have taken care of pets since childhood and my two dogs have given me experience with different life stages from puppy to adulthood. They have different personalities and are different sizes therefore I am comfortable with a variety of dog sizes. Our lab has a lot of allergies so we have to be very careful about her food/grass and give her medicine to control her itchiness. Having two dogs means when I have a pet sitter I understand how important it is to communicate details about walking, food, and interactions with other dogs/ppl. I would love to take care of your dog and treat them as if they are a part of our family as well. I will be on sabbatical starting in August, which allows me to maintain a consistent daily routine dedicated to walking, caring for, and playing with dogs. I am fully available on both weekdays and weekends starting mid-August, with the exception of 1 week planned vacation in November. Based on my experience with my dog, my neighbors dogs, and my friends dogs I can provide walks, baths, food, playtime, dog park time, and so forth. I have had my co-workers dog stay with us as well. It is important to me that they eat their food, have expected pees/poops, and feel comfortable in a new environment. If there is anything odd or unexpected I will message right away to confirm if its normal. I love taking pictures and sending them. Anything that could be improved with their care please let me know!

“Naa Kuorkor has done an amazing job with Charlie. She’s been detailed with how the walks went and making sure that Charlie is content. She’s consistent with clear communication. I highly recommend her for your dog walking needs :)”

About: I’ve always had cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up with two dogs and now have two cats in the city! Can’t wait to meet your pet! Currently a student so I have a flexible schedule, so weekday drop ins and walks should be easy to schedule! Mondays and Tuesdays are my busiest days. I have two friendly cats who have regularly interacted with other cats. I would love to take dogs for long walks to help tire them out and keep them entertained!

“Camden is reliable and really took care of my boy, benny. They had a nice walk around the neighborhood, even though outside was pretty hot, they enjoyed their time together, I will book him again!”

About: Lover of all animals with experience growing up with dogs & cats. I would love to take care of your baby when you need a hand. Plus, they make me happy! I work remotely so I can do walks or pet care during the week too. Also happy to spend time on the weekends caring for them. I have a low maintenance cat so I’m more than happy to go to your home to take care of your pets when needed.
About: During the day, I spend time with my cat and a very young kitten, which involves socializing them together. Recently I have started doing side-gigs for friends and neighbors, traveling to their homes to take care of their cats. I really love getting to know the personality of each pet and doing what keeps them happy and fed while their person is away! With every pet, I develop a special private bond just between us :) I work from home during the weekdays which allows me to travel and pet-sit, and I can make time on weekday evenings as well. on weekends, I’m also quite flexible and available to travel for pet care. I like coming in and immediately giving the baby some love and feeding them, so they’re not starved for attention or food! Then I tend to go around and refresh water, clean up after the pet, take them for a walk or clean a little box, and then I try to spend more time playing with or living on the pets I’m caring for before I go

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have experience caring for multiple dogs at once, from small breeds to large breeds with different personalities and needs. In addition to growing up with dogs, I’ve provided pet sitting through platforms like Nextdoor and Facebook and have cared for family pets while working as a nanny. My availability varies by season. During the summer, I’m available most days and many weeks for walks, drop-ins, daycare, or overnight stays. During the school year (September–June), I’m generally available after 4:00 p.m., as I teach elementary school during the day. I’m also a graduate student and typically have evening classes two nights a week, but I keep my calendar updated so you can always see my current availability. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or stopping by for a visit, their safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I’ll follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and plenty of affection. I know every dog is different, so I take the time to understand their personality and any special instructions you have. As an elementary school teacher, I’m patient, responsible, and attentive to details, and I’ll treat your home and pets with the same care and respect I would my own. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands.
“Have used Taylor to walk Tank multiple times. She is always very communicative and it is obvious she cares for Tank and that they enjoy each others company. I will continue to use Taylor to walk Tank any chance I get”

“Jondle was great with our older (and sometimes stubborn) French bulldog! She was very responsive throughout the entire process and made a point to come meet me and Eloise before she started caring for her.”

About: We’ve both had dogs in our family since we were young and we have our very own, paçoca! She’s a nova scotia duck toller. Her name means little peanut in portuguese and nothing describes her better than that. we love nothing more than to be around dogs. We would love to care for yours! We both work a hybrid schedule and at least one of us is always available to care for, play, and walk pets as many times as needed. We can provide your dog with the exercise they may need, whether it is a morning run, long walk in the afternoon, or dog park visit. We live in a pet-friendly two bedroom apartment with lots of light and space. Dogs we’ve cared for prior really enjoyed laying on the couch/their beds and getting some sun. We live very close to Logan Circle, which is a great, pleasant and green space in downtown DC for dogs to walk and play with other dogs. We love incorporating the pets’ routines into our own and can adapt as needed. Taking them on walks during the day is a great opportunity to take work breaks, get some fresh air, and enjoy the day. Our apartment is spacious and gets lots of sunlight, which the dogs love! It’s also close to lots of nice green areas such as Logan Circle or the S street dog park!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - U Street Corridor
Ciera was amazing with our cat and 100 black lab! She played with and took Charlie on walks. AND I hade to unexpectedly stay overnight and she worked me to make sure my lovable babies were tended to. Modified her schedule to care for them. I was at peace with her there. I’ll be using her again!

I feel so lucky that I found Tess! As soon as she met Lovie I saw the loving, caring personality the other reviews mentioned. She listened and took notes on my insights about Lovie. She was sweet and patient and took the cutest pics where my baby girl had big smiles on her face. Would definitely recommend!
