We would definitely be booking with Holly again when we are in town—highly recommend!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have had many family dogs since childhood, so caring for pets has always been a part of my life. Over the years I’ve looked after dogs for friends and family, and since moving to Washington, DC I’ve also cared for both dogs and cats, including feeding, playtime, walks, and staying at the owner's home when needed. I’m a freelance graphic designer, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to work from home or from an owner's home, so pets can often have more company and attention during the day. I’m comfortable following each pet’s routine and needs, whether that means feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or reinforcing basic training habits. I enjoy spending time with animals and paying attention to their personalities and comfort levels. My wife is also around on some weekdays and all weekends, and helps care for pets as well. We live right across from Meridian Hill Park, which makes walks easy and enjoyable, and our residence also has a small dog park. Our building is very pet-friendly and home to many dog owners, creating a welcoming environment for dogs. I'm very flexible as I only work part time and from my laptop, so I can work around your pet's schedule. I’m available for boarding, house sitting, drop-in visits, and walks, and I’m happy to adapt to your schedule and your pet’s usual routine to make things as easy and comfortable as possible. I care for pets by creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment while respecting their usual routine and habits. Whether in my home or the owner's home, I make sure they receive attention, playtime, exercise, meals on schedule, and a space where they can feel relaxed and secure.
About: I've sheltered many animals from reptiles, ferrets, pigs to the more common dogs and cats and I love what I do. Pets should come first. I am in college right now and have free time during the days. I mostly do school at night but can work around your scheduling Adaptable to various situations and can provide excellent care and support for all fur babies. The pets comfortability is the most important thing to ensure.
About: I believe in providing individualized care tailored to each pet's specific needs and preferences. Whether it's administering medication, following a special diet, or simply providing extra cuddles, I ensure that each pet receives the attention they deserve. I have extensive pet sitting experience - from pup-arthritis, cancer and separation anxiety - I cater to all your needs. NOTE- First time clients will require a meet up prior to booking. This is to ensure good care, understanding and communication. I work from home so I am available on listed days 24/7; I also board one dog at a time during weekends. I walk the pets once every 2-3 hours. I board the pets in my house. I live in a gated community, and the house has ample space, and a small backyard. I'm able to do house sitting during the day if you are within a 1 mile radius.
“Joey did a fantastic job to take great care of my 7-year-old labrador who had a bit of separation anxiety. I am so grateful with Joey to accept the last minute request after a brief meet up. I would love to use his services again and highly recommend him. Thanks again Joey for your flexibility and patience with Meimei!”

“Took amazing care of our dog. Was thoughtful, responsive and shared updates throughout the day. Would definitely recommend and book again. Thanks Erika!”

“Wally loved staying there and Claire was wonderful with him. She was very responsive in terms of communication and was willing to meet up once before our stay as a meet and greet to make sure he was okay!”

“They were absolutely amazing with Whiskey! They would send me pictures throughout the day and give me updates which really helped with feeling at ease. I would highly recommend them to dogsit for you!”

About: My husband Galen and I have both had dogs since we were in our teens. We are both experienced in caring and loving for our pups. As a couple we have owned pets together for 13 years. We are a US Air Force Family and have been stationed in DC for the past six years. We love how the community is a dog centric town!! Galen is full remote, meaning your pup will never be alone. We currently have a bulldog named Burrito. Our miniature american eskimo named Mojo unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge in December 2024. I love our dogs so much I know how nerve-racking it can be to leave your BFF to a stranger. I promise I’ll provide your pet the love and attention they want or need as if they were my own. My husband is full remote and I unfortunately am back in the office full time. Galen will be home with the pups all day. I do an early morning walk and an after work walk while he does multiple midday walks. In the evenings we both are able to take the pups on long walks. We monitor any bones given and are in close proximity during feeding time. We also continuously reinforce good behaviors by pets, praise, and treats if you allow. We only accept one dog at a time. Pups are allowed on the couch. Bundy Dog Park is across the street, if you allow for additional exercise. Your dog will receive lots of pets, praise and love while in our home!
U Street Corridor dog parents share their Rover experiences
Aroa was wonderful with Brie! She was available to pick up a last minute request and was attentive. Brie is never fully open to a new person, but she was immediately comfortable with Aroa. Lots of pics and updates and we would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Holly was absolutely amazing with Stella! Stella can be incredibly nervous in new environments, but Holly showed so much patience and gentle care to help her settle in. She truly went above and beyond to make Stella feel safe, comfortable, and loved. It is incredible to find someone who understands anxious dogs so well. We would definitely be booking with Holly again when we are in town—highly recommend!

Zachary and Christina are the best kept secret in DC. I tried a few other dog sitters when I moved to the area and none are as attentive. My picky dog loves going over and I’m quickly ignored as he scampers inside. They send phenomenal pictures and videos throughout the stay and my guy looks playful and happy in each one, another great sign of these thoughtful sitters.

Kudos to Hannah and Graham for taking care of my dog for half a day last week. I know it can be somewhat trying to care for dog who is typically a loner and very anxious in new surroundings. But my dog was super chill when I picked him up so I know that Graham and Hannah were patient and kind with him. They even invited him back for another stay! Highly recommend this couple anytime you need a dog sitter.

Emily was incredibly helpful and caring with the boarding of our dogs. Very timely responses and convenient availability. She gave us updates and pics of our pups as they enjoyed their time with Emily. We look forward to booking with you again. Thank you so much!

I booked a daycare stay with Claire, and she was great with my dog! She was easy to coordinate with, flexible with drop-off and pick-up times, very responsive, and sent plenty of updates and photos throughout the day, which I really appreciated. It was clear that she was attentive to details and followed all of my care instructions. My dog clearly had a great time with her and came home happy. I'd definitely book with Claire again and would highly recommend her to others.

Troy was great! I adopted a dog and needed a sitter to watch him while I get him used to being crated when I go to work. He took the last minute request, was responsive, and took great care of my Beau! He also reported on some of his behaviors for me which was very helpful. All in all a great sitter and I would absolutely leave Beau with him in the future!
