About: Hello! My name is Cecilia, and I am a junior at UNC Chapel Hill, but I will be in DC until August. I am a well-known contact for dog/cat sitting and walking in my neighborhood and thought I would expand my services to the rest of D.C. I have also fostered dogs and successfully gotten them adopted. I often volunteer at Lucky Dog Rescue on weekends to help handle dogs. I have had cats before and adore them. I often cat sit for my neighbors. I mostly work from home and can be around pets all day. For dogs, I have time to take them on at least 2-3 walks a day and can do more/less based on the dog. For cats, I am available to give them a lot of attention and care throughout the entire day. My house is dog proof as I have had dogs for my entire life, and there has rarely been a time when at least one dog is not residing there. We have a really large, fenced in yard and I like to take dogs to dog parks nearby if they do well there. I like to work outside and be around them in the sun and grass. There is a small pool in our backyard that dogs can cool off in as well.

About: I’ve had dogs and taken care of them since I was a child. I’ve owned an Airedale terrier, a pug, a Russian terrier, and my family currently has a Japanese spitz. I’ve got all sorts of experience - I have adopted a doggie from a shelter before, and I’ve also raised my two pups from 3 months old until they passed a few months ago at ages 14 and 16. I’ve boarded dogs - I looked after a friend’s pug for a week, a family friend’s elderly golden retriever, and fostered a stray my sister and I rescued before someone adopted her. I’ve taken road trips with multiple pets, and flown across the country with 3 of my dogs, I’ve taken them to all sorts of vet appointments, and been with them through all stages of their lives. I’m on this platform looking for company to heal from losing my furry friends, because being around dogs brings me peace and joy. I am a performing artist and I travel a lot for concerts, so having my own pet is unfortunately not feasible at the moment, hence I decided that taking care of someone else’s furry babies while I’m home between performances is the second best thing:) You can rest assured that I’ll take great pleasure in taking care of them and having them in my home. I work from home during the day and I am home from evening until morning, too. I do however step out for errands and appointments. Your dog will be with me most of the time while staying in my home, walked 2-3 times and fed on schedule, but should be comfortable being on its own for 2-3 hours max, if I have things to do. If your doggie has severe separation anxiety and is unable to be alone at all, I can accommodate that with enough notice and for 2x my normal nightly rate. I’ve always let my dogs run free around the house and make a safe space for them where they liked, but I did crate my rescue doggie when he first arrived to slowly acclimate him to the new place. Whatever you prefer for your dog is fine by me and I’m happy to accommodate. I don’t have a yard, but I have plenty of green areas nearby where I’d walk your furry pal. I keep my dogs on leash at all times. I like training them and playing with them to give them some mental stimulation, but if they prefer to chill and not be bothered I’m cool with that as well

I recently retired and am available every day and most evenings of the week except for occasional Wed., Fri, and Sat. evenings but I can adapt my schedule to yours. First, I arrive on time. Then I check the overall state of the pets and home for health and safety. Next, I love and feed them and change their water according to their owners' instructions. I clean the litter and the surrounding area. For dogs, I get them out for their walks/ runs/ playtime as soon as I arrive, and on dog walks, I'm a diligent poop-scooper. For cats and dogs, I will play with and groom them, and exude love. All along, I will take pictures and send them to you. Once the visit is over, I'll ensure that everything in your home is in order and the door is securely locked.

About: I am experienced in taking care of dogs including those with high needs that require medications and puppies as young as 3 months. I have had wonderful experience with walking, boarding and overnight stays over weekends. I am very engaging when I care for dogs, always making sure they get plenty of play and exercise if they are physically able, and I enjoy incorporating some basic training as a part of that play. I am sensitive to different needs of each dog and I socially accommodate for each of their needs. I am a very patient and warm caretaker. I build my schedule around my responsibilities and planned pet care but I typically wake up around 7am and go to sleep around midnight. I am used to frequent outings for dogs because I raised mine from when he was very young and he needed to go out about every hour. I have learned to be very patient and read signs of discomfort and needs in order to keep all animals safe, happy, healthy, and comfortable. I have close access to a secluded dog park and beautiful green spaces in a very walkable neighborhood. If I am watching a dog in a new area, I always look for similar spaces where dogs can safely engage with their environment. Within the home, I like to combine toys and training to get the most out of my time there. I am very affectionate towards cats and will help them get their daily activity in. I know some cats are nervous and need their space, and I can always accommodate for their individual needs.
