“Jefferson takes great care of my big guy. He jumped in for a last minute need and now is our weekly walker. During our first meeting he took diligent notes which showed me his high level of care. Definitely will use again.”

“I feel extremely comfortable and reassured with Kyle regularly my dog while I’m at work, as she can be a little reactive. I am so glad I found Kyle to help me out and would recommend to anyone!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover and caretaker for as long as I can remember. Having spent 10+ years in the equine world, I am used to being surrounded by animals every day, so moving to DC and being away from my own pets has definitely left a hole in my heart! Luckily, it also means I have plenty of love, attention, and care to give to your pets. I have experience with large and small dogs, puppies, senior pets, shy or anxious animals, and pets with high needs or medication schedules. I’m also comfortable caring for cats of all personalities—from the social attention-seekers to the independent observers. As a pet owner myself (I have two cats and a dog back home), I understand how important it is to find someone you trust to care for your pets. When they’re with me, I treat them like they’re my own and do everything I can to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m very reliable, communicative, and happy to provide updates so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands. I’d love to get to know you and your pets, and I’m always happy to answer any questions about my experience or care style! 🐾💕 I am available every day before 8 and after 4, and THURS, FRI am available all day to help with pet needs :) Saturday and Sunday are subject to change but generally fully open. I would prefer to watch pets at their home but do have a fenced in yard at my apartment if they did need to stay for short term (small dogs only)

“Claire is wonderful!! She is very professional and responsive. She was easily able to adjust to our schedule and communicated any changes needed with ample time. She also was flexible in scheduling.”

“Jacquelyn has stole my little boy’s heart in a matter of two weeks! He adores her. She’s taking him on a new greener walking path which he loves. I am extremely pleased with her services. Way to go Rover! Your team is top notch.”

“Jennifer was wonderful with our dog and super responsive sorting out logistics. She helped manage him during our engagement photos, stepping in to take him on walk breaks and meeting us as we moved around to get him included in photos. All-around great experience!”

“Absolutely! Here’s your revised review with those thoughtful details included: ⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were visiting Washington D.C. and needed someone to walk and care for our pup while we attended events. Rut was amazing! She even met us the day before for a meet-and-greet at no charge, which gave us total peace of mind. She came to our hotel and walked our cavapoo twice — she was incredibly professional, accommodating, and kind. She really went out of her way to work with our schedule and timeline. Her communication was excellent, and we felt completely at ease leaving our pup in her care. Highly recommend her to anyone needing trusted and thoughtful pet care in DC”

“Allison continues to deliver top-quality care and companionship to our puppy. She has taken the time to understand his particular needs and interests and makes sure that he always has an enriching and enjoyable experience. Thank you, Allison!”

“Karima has been great with my senior dog weekly walks. She is extremely punctual and pays great attention to detail. She was accommodating with scheduling a meet and greet before booking and I’m so glad to have found her!”

About: I'm reliable and have pet sat for my friends, families, and colleagues. I had a german shepherd mix from the pound at my family's house (not with me in DC). I appreciate specific instructions if your pet is particular about certain things, but I'm a problem solver too. I work hybrid so I can visit your place to walk your pet or house/pet sit from your place when I work from home. My schedule can change/be flexible so just ask me first! I can make time for drop-in visits, feeding, litter care, companionship, and more throughout the week. I am comfortable working around a cat/dog/etc normal schedule and following specific instructions so their routine stays consistent. I will not take pets into my apartment. I will come to your place and provide any service you need there! (Pet sitting, pet walking, feeding, etc.) I love all kinds of dogs, cats, even my friend's pet snake!
“Dominic has been walking Madi twice a week for the past two months. He takes great care of Madi, shares cute pics and funny notes/commentary of their walks/encounters. He also puts up w some of Madi’s stubborn ways w/o issue.”

“Lia is awesome! Super friendly, communicative, and clearly a total dog person. She kept me updated with texts/pics and took excellent care of my dog. Would absolutely trust her again! 10/10”

About: I’ve been a dog lover my whole life and finally adopted my first two years ago! Well before my partner and I adopted our rescue, I was helping out family and friends as a sitter and walker. Whenever I was at a house with a dog, I always wound up being the designated fetch partner. I’m a dedicated caretaker who loves taking my pup around the block, to the park and on adventures. I raised and trained my dog from a puppy and have experience watching dogs ages 1-18! As a dog parent myself, I know how important communication, transparency and, of course, getting pictures of your pup is when you’re away from them. I’m excited to meet, walk and play with more dogs around the district! I work five days a week (M-F) from home, but my schedule is flexible and allows for me to take breaks as needed to tend to my own dog and pop out to care for others whenever necessary. Afternoons are ideal, but I can be available in evenings, mornings and overnight with advanced notice. My dog roams free at home, but she started out crate trained and graduated from there. I’m comfortable caring for a dog/dogs who roam free or are crated and have no issue retrieving them from there and returning them to their space as needed.
About: I had 1 dog living with me, her name was Muffin and we adopted our sweet girl 9 years ago from an animal shelter. I also have extensive experience when it comes to walking and dog sitting dogs as well as cats. I treat all animals with the same love and affection as if they were my own. I am currently working part-time, so I do have many hours during the week as well as the weekends to accommodate you and the needs of your pets. I am not able to host an additional pet in my home, but in my house our dog is allowed to do what she pleases to an extent as this is her home as well! She is allowed in all rooms, on the couch, on the beds at times, etc. In the homes of clients I of course follow any rules set by the owner of what their pet is allowed to do, but I would give them as much affection as possible- making sure that they don’t feel lonely, taking them on walks, and anything else the owner would do on a day to day basis.
Shaw dog parents share their Rover experiences
I am so grateful for Thomas the incredible care he takes of my 3.5yo Great Dane! Thomas is a consummate professional, from diligence with all my requests to even thinking proactively about the weather. He is truly a wizard at capturing action shots, too! His detailed descriptions of the walk and fun pictures are such a ray of sunshine to receive in the middle of my work day. My Dane has some dog reactivity and I am grateful for Thomas’s ability to work around his needs. Thomas has been walking him for two weeks now and I will happily keep booking him for as long as I can.

Bruno and Victoria have walked and dog sat for my dog on multiple occasions and have also done some cat check ins. It is apparent that they are animal lovers and treat others' pets as their own. My dog is always ecstatic to run into them in the neighborhood so I know they take great care of her and give her lots of love while I am away. They have always been very communicative and reliable and are willing to work with my dog as she has some reactive behaviors on leash. I would definitely recommend booking Bruno to care for your pets!

We were devastated to lose our Walker due to relocation last month. BUT Havi came into our lives two weeks ago and Frankie is in love. He waits patiently by the door starting at 7:15 and like an alarm clock she arrives promptly at 7:30. She is pleasant has an excellent temperament and we are looking forward to a long Rover relationship. Thank you Lord for answering this dog mom’s prayers.
