About: I have a lot of experience with dogs. Since I was 14, I trained my family dog and have been taking care of him for 9 years. I also assisted my brother in training his lab along with dog sitting for neighbors, friends, and family growing up. I’m currently a nurse at a local hospital, and on my days off I love spending time outdoors and staying active. I’m looking to earn some additional income while doing something I truly enjoy—caring for dogs! With a flexible schedule and plenty of free time on my off days, I’m excited to help care for your pup and give them the attention they deserve. I have extensive experience working with animals, having studied them in college and grown up in a family business that operates a doggy daycare. As an active person who enjoys spending time outdoors, I’d love to have a furry companion join me for walks and fresh air. I always prioritize the safety and well-being of every pet in my care, and I understand how important trust and communication are when someone else is caring for your animal—so you can count on me to keep you updated and ensure your peace of mind.
“Jacqueline was great! Timely and prompt communication, and our dog was super excited to see her. She handled our dog’s puppy energy really well, and I’d highly recommend her in the future.”

About: Hello! I am appreciative of all fuzzy friends, big and small. I have two cats of my own, with loads of dog care experience. I have lots of experience with young puppies, senior pets who need medication (oral pills or otherwise), fickle kitties, and shy pets. I’ve trained three cats from kittens, and can provide care for those still learning litter box manners. I work a traditional 9-5, and wfh 3 days a week. Depending on the day, I can offer a lunch break check in, meal time pop ins, and lots of weekend love! As a visitor of your home, I am open to whatever method you employ for your friend’s safety. I have experience with crate training and am happy to continue your training practices. In my own home, I keep my cats safe by keeping out a toxic plants/food items and practicing general cat safety (no breakables near the shelf edges ifkyk).
“Cooper was so excited to see Gracie for their morning walk! This was the first time she had walked him but he recognized her from our meet and greet. He had fun on their walk with his ball and she sent tons of pictures. Thanks so much!”
About: I’ve grown up with cats/dogs my entire life and am a huge animal person. I’ve watched friends and family’s animals off and on throughout the years and make sure I spend as much time with them as possible during visits and follow any given instructions. I have two cats of my own, Evan (8) and Cuphead (9), and expect great cat sitting from those who watch them when I’m gone. Therefore, I would give nothing less to animals I sit for as well! I have a full-time job so I’m available on the week-days before 9AM and after 5:30PM. Weekends I’m available at any time you may need. I’ll always make sure to follow all instructions you give- both of my cats are on specific diets so I’m very conscious of animals’ needs. I also am happy to spend as much time with your animal as you’d like in order to keep them company and keep them happy. I have experience giving pills as well. Also happy to clean litter boxes and make sure there’s always fresh water for cats.

“Jondle was great with our older (and sometimes stubborn) French bulldog! She was very responsive throughout the entire process and made a point to come meet me and Eloise before she started caring for her.”

“Katherine was extraordinarily communicative, professional, and flexible even on short notice. I had so much peace of mind knowing that she was taking care of my pup while I was at work.”

“Nathalia has been so helpful in walking my pup while I'm away at work for long hours. She has been super communicative and I love the Rover cards I get after they make my day and I know my pup is well taken care of!!”

About: Hi! My name is Riley, and I would love to help care for your dog. I have two goldendoodles of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone who is trustworthy, patient, and loving with your pets. I have experience walking, feeding, playing with, and caring for dogs, and I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or just some extra attention, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I know every dog has their own personality and routine, so I’m happy to follow any specific instructions you provide. I can’t wait to meet your pup! I am currently a graduate student at George Washington University. I have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I am available for dog walks most other days and times. I’m happy to be flexible and work with your dog’s routine whenever possible! I care for my own two goldendoodles at home, so I have daily experience with feeding, walking, playtime, basic grooming, and giving dogs lots of love and attention. I also understand how important it is to keep dogs on their usual routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. When caring for a client’s pup, I will always follow the owner’s instructions closely, including walk preferences, feeding schedules, leash rules, and any special care needs. I’ll treat every dog with patience, kindness, and the same level of care I give my own pups.

I work remotely so I can do walks or pet care during the week too. Also happy to spend time on the weekends caring for them. “Dominic has been walking Madi twice a week for the past two months. He takes great care of Madi, shares cute pics and funny notes/commentary of their walks/encounters. He also puts up w some of Madi’s stubborn ways w/o issue.”

“Courtney was great with Cracker Jack! This is my first time using rover and Courtney made the whole process a breeze. She’s very communicative and responsible. Cracker Jack loves her and it’s so good to know that he’s getting some outdoor time with someone who is trust worthy and reliable when I’m gone all day! I will definitely hire Courtney again.”

“Rory is wonderful! He has become our daily dog walker and takes Ellie on such sweet walks throughout the week. I’ve been impressed by his patience with her as she warms up to him, and it’s clear he really cares about building a trusting relationship with her. This has made a big difference for Ellie, who can sometimes be a little apprehensive, and now they are off to the races exploring the neighborhood, and it’s clear Ellie is so happy to go out on a walk with him. We’re so glad to have found Rory and highly recommend him!”

“We hired Rachel to walk our dog for the first time this week, and we couldn’t be happier with how it went. From our initial communication, she was highly professional, punctual, and very attentive to our pup’s routine and needs. She made the whole process seamless. Rachel also shared an update and photos after the walk. Our dog came home happy, well-exercised, and completely relaxed. It’s clear she has a natural way with animals and genuinely cares about our precious angel. We will definitely be booking her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog walker!”

About: I've spent years fostering dogs and cats, and have had a household full of dogs since I was old enough to remember -- from Mastiffs to Chihuahuas, if there's a dog breed out there, I've probably shared a home with them at some point. I have experience taking care of dogs with medical and mobility needs (my current family dog is a 16 year old blind pitbull!), as well as a range of energy levels. I’m a grad student, so I am fairly flexible in the hours your pet may need care! I am happy to do weekends, evenings, and early mornings as well. I love walking dogs and giving them all the love! Whether a pup wants couch time or run time, I'm here for it. I also love figuring out the nuances of cat affection and each of their very unique personalities, and am ready to find ways to play that make them happiest!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Kalorama
Leah walks our guy Otis a few times a week and has been nothing short of wonderful. She takes care of Otis like he is her own dog. She did us a huge solid and agreed to start walking him only a few days after we had adopted him and didn’t know much about him. She communicates reliably and consistently; she always gives advance notice if she can’t make a walk. And, she is very mindful of Otis’ needs and adjusts accordingly, asking questions and giving updates as needed. The one time I happened to be home when she came to get Otis for his afternoon walk, he ran to the door and never looked back. He LOVES Leah. At the risk of losing our cherished dog walker because she gets booked up after this review, we would give 10 stars if we could because Leah very much deserves her flowers!
