“John (Johnny) is a fantastic walker! He told me he’s new to the Rover platform but I can tell he’s very experienced and fantastic with dogs/animals. My dog Monty is not a huge walker and after about 10 minutes walking, Monty was dragging him back to my apartment and didn’t want to keep walking. Johnny called me to communicate that he is happy to do the full 30 minute walk, but that Monty wanted to come home and wouldn’t walk. He came back to my apartment and hung with Monty inside for the remaining 20 minutes. I recommend Johnny as a walker. He’s also so friendly and kind!”

About: I've grown up with animals my whole life — dogs, cats, and even horses — so caring for pets isn't new to me, it's second nature. I understand different temperaments, energy levels, and needs, from a high-energy pup who needs a good walk to a senior cat who just wants company. Your pet will get consistent routines, plenty of attention, and someone who treats them like their own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I'm based in the [Washington, DC] area and typically have [mornings and evenings / flexible weekday] availability for walks and drop-ins, with more flexibility on weekends for boarding or longer sits. I build a consistent routine around each pet's normal schedule, feeding times, walk times, and downtime, so there's minimal disruption to what they're used to. Whether I'm in my own home or a client's home, safety and comfort come first. I keep a close eye on pets at all times, follow any feeding, medication, or routine instructions exactly as given, and make sure spaces are secure (leashed walks, safe yards, doors and gates checked). In my own home, pets have a calm, comfortable space to settle in, away from hazards, with fresh water always available. I communicate regularly with owners, photo updates and check-ins, so they always know their pet is safe and happy.

About: Hello! I am appreciative of all fuzzy friends, big and small. I have two cats of my own, with loads of dog care experience. I have lots of experience with young puppies, senior pets who need medication (oral pills or otherwise), fickle kitties, and shy pets. I’ve trained three cats from kittens, and can provide care for those still learning litter box manners. I work a traditional 9-5, and wfh 3 days a week. Depending on the day, I can offer a lunch break check in, meal time pop ins, and lots of weekend love! As a visitor of your home, I am open to whatever method you employ for your friend’s safety. I have experience with crate training and am happy to continue your training practices. In my own home, I keep my cats safe by keeping out a toxic plants/food items and practicing general cat safety (no breakables near the shelf edges ifkyk).

About: I've been around animals my whole life, about 35 years now. Growing up, my house was basically a small zoo. We had cats, lovebirds, finches, a sun conure, a chinchilla, a bearded dragon, turtles, fish, and even a pet chicken. My mom worked at a pet shop for over ten years, so we were always taking in animals that needed extra care or medication while they recovered. Dogs came later in life and I fell for them hard. I've lived with roommates' dogs, done pet sits through TrustedHousesitters, and I help look after my family's cat. All of that made me pretty calm and easy to have around your pet, and I can usually read what an animal needs before it turns into a problem. One more thing: I do standup comedy on the side, so expect a lot of ridiculous photos and videos of your pet. Your updates definitely won't be boring. I work from home, so I'm around during the day when a lot of sitters aren't. That makes me a good fit for daytime walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting. When I'm house sitting I can set up my laptop at your place and work from there as long as there's wifi, which means your pet has company most of the day instead of an empty house. I'm flexible on weekdays and weekends, early or late, and I'll always sort out the timing with you ahead of time. When I'm in your home I stick to your routines and house rules exactly, and I treat your space with respect (I'm the guest who does the dishes). Doors, gates, and leashes always stay secure. On walks I wear a body cam, so if anything ever happens you'll have as much detail as possible. It keeps me accountable and gives you peace of mind while I keep an eye on your dog and everything around us, from traffic to other dogs to that one suspicious squirrel. You'll get regular photo and text updates, feeding and meds exactly how you've asked, and fresh water down at all times. If something ever feels off you'll hear from me right away, and I know when it's time to call a vet.

About: I’ve cared for dogs since I was 12 - I’m new to Rover, but have spent the last 6 years dog sitting (for just a day to multiple weeks at a time) for coworkers and friends. Decided to sign up because I’d like to do it more often! I work full time and in person, so I’m available Fridays from 5pm on and throughout the weekends. Taking a weekend trip or need a break? I’m your girl! My space: I live in a two bed room apartment with plenty of space. While I don’t have a yard, I love to walk and live right next to meridian hill park and not too far from rock creek park. I have no pets of my own, so all of my attention will be making sure your pup feels safe, comfortable, and attended for! In your space: You tell me what you need and I’ll make it happen. I’m respectful of others spaces and have been trusted to do prolonged dog sitting stays and have never run into any issues!

About: I’ve always had cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up with two dogs and now have two cats in the city! Can’t wait to meet your pet! Currently a student so I have a flexible schedule, so weekday drop ins and walks should be easy to schedule! Mondays and Tuesdays are my busiest days. I have two friendly cats who have regularly interacted with other cats. I would love to take dogs for long walks to help tire them out and keep them entertained!
