“Lauren was very communicative, left the apartment extremely clean, followed instructions, and took good care of our dog. When our trip got extended by a few hours, Lauren was very understanding and accommodating of staying with our dog a bit longer to close the gap. My neighbor also reached out saying that she saw Lauren with our dog in the hallway of our building and that she was doing a great job with her. Overall, we would definitely hire Lauren again!”

About: I have been my go-to pet person in my friend circle, whether it is home stays with their dogs or checking in on their cats to make sure they are fed/have clean spaces. My reward has always been the quality time with the animals, I pride myself on being their favorite non-family members! I was recently laid off, so I have full availability (and will make sure my interview schedule does not interfere, or I can work around it). If there are any conflicts, I will always communicate them to owners to make sure they can plan around it and ensure the best care for their pets. I will always have lots of patience and respect for pets' boundaries as a stranger stepping into their space! I make sure to follow owners' instructions as well, with regard for caring for their pets and respecting homes. Additionally, I understand that not all pets have the same needs, and never try to assume your pet's behavior based on other experiences. They all communicate differently, and learning that process is what I find most rewarding in caring for them!

“Mecca was so great! We had her stay in the house for about one week and you could tell the cats were missing us, but were so happy with the care they’d received. The house was in great shape and she even changed the sheets before she left, which she didn’t need to do, but was a nice surprise. She kept us informed when we asked but didn’t bombard us with cat photos. We’ve been through a good amount of Rovers and so many of the people don’t do basic things even with explicit instructions (like fill water). Mecca may be ‘the one’ Highly recommend!”
