“Zlata took the best care of our pup and our home!! Was super communicative and sent lots of pics and videos. We’ll definitely be having her back next time we need a sitter!”

“Joli was very accommodating to a last-minute schedule change, and was great with Greg Junior! So happy to be able to recommend her to other pet owners, and she is a natural with dogs!”

About: Having pets for over 25 years, and having done a lot of pet sitting for others, has taught me what unconditional love is. I am committed to understanding what each individual pet needs and wants and I tailor my attention to every pet accordingly. Long walks for dogs ✅ shorter walks ✅ playtime ✅ lots of cuddles ✅ no cuddles, no problem ✅ I am here to care for animals the way they like, as it is all about them. I always walk the dogs at their pace and they can stop and sniff as much as they want ❤️ Working for myself, and two days part-time outside my home, offers ample time to care for your pet, whether in your home or mine. I have a big yard for your puppers to play and take long walks everyday...I would love to have your dog along on my neighborhood treks. I also like to load them up in the truck and drive to new, unexplored parts of town...new sights and sounds and smells to keep our awareness sharp.
“Reanna is excellent. We have three dogs each with something that makes them special. We have an 80 pound pitbull with leash reactivity, a nearly 14 year old senior pit mix whose age is definitely showing but he’s still a sweetheart, and a beagle (enough said). Needless to say we’re very cautious with choosing a dog sitter and Reanna took wonderful care of our three pups, including house sitting, walking all three individually, and giving pills. I highly recommend her.”

“Alexis accepted our request short notice and gave us so much comfort in knowing our little one was taken care of. She came over next day for meet and greet. She sent photo and text updates with our pup. We felt very secure and safe having her in our home, taking care of Myla.”

“Iva did a fantastic job house sitting for our cat. We left for 6 days and didn’t want the cat to be left alone so we found someone we could trust. She provided regular updates, photos, and let us know if she had any questions about the house or the cat. We arrived home this morning and both the cat and house are perfect. :) Thank you, Iva!”

“Marlene was great with my boys. Very loving and caring. When I came home, they reacted like they do any other day, so I felt great knowing they didn't really miss me because of the care they received.”

“Kelli went above and beyond while watching our dog, Kahlua. She was attentive and on top of everything and really made us feel comfortable while being away for a few days! From the pics and updates, we could see Kahlua had a blast too!”

“This was my first time using Rover, and Thomas completely exceeded every expectation I had. As someone who is very protective of my dog, I was nervous about trusting a new person, but Thomas made the entire experience incredibly easy, reassuring, and honestly, better than I could have imagined. Before even accepting the booking, he came by to meet Jax and instantly put both of us at ease. He listened carefully to every instruction, took my concerns seriously, and asked thoughtful, detailed questions to make sure he could care for Jax exactly the way I do. It was so obvious how much he genuinely cares about animals and wants to get it right. Throughout the stay, Thomas sent amazing updates and photos that showed just how happy, exercised, and loved Jax was the entire time. He went above and beyond to keep my pup engaged and comfortable. Knowing Jax was in such great hands allowed me to actually relax — something I honestly didn’t think was possible when leaving my dog with someone new. He stayed in my home and was incredibly respectful of my space. Everything was exactly as I left it, and he followed all of Jax’s routines perfectly. It felt like Jax got a little vacation of his own. Thomas gave me a level of peace of mind I didn’t think I’d ever have with a sitter. My initial apprehension about leaving my dog with someone new is completely gone and that is entirely because of him. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Thomas. He is responsible, kind, attentive, communicative, and genuinely exceptional at what he does. If you’re looking for a sitter who will treat your dog like family, look no further. Thomas is your guy, and I will absolutely be using him any chance I get.”

About: I own 2 cats myself and have taken care of/lived with a large dog before (German shepherd). I have more experience with cats but have taken care of multiple types of dogs. I am open to animals that may have some disabilities as well. I have experience taking care of blind dogs/senior dogs! I am located on st Pete beach but am open to the surrounding Tampa Bay Area. I work full time but it is a late/evening shift so I can be available during the day as well as nights after work. I like to care for pets based on the how the owners would like them to be cared for. I would appreciate some instruction and background on pets so I can understand them better.
“Jolie watched our pets and house when we went on vacation, it was a seamless experience! She left the house spotless, and most importantly, our pets were happy and relaxed when we returned. Our dog is quite anxious and he’s usually extra clingy when we leave him, but not this time! Jolie’s secret to keeping him happy was to make sure he got lots of exercise in the form of extra long walks. She’s a clear communicator, and is responsible and flexible. We feel lucky to have found her!”

“Ben was accommodating by fitting us in on short notice for house-sitting. He was very detailed in his care for birdie, making note of Birdie's temperament toward strangers, feeding behavior, and idiosyncrasies. We will definitely be using Ben again for house and dog sitting needs. Thank you Ben!”

“Blaize was very responsive and messaged me multiple times to coordinate my pup’s care and ask questions. She also sent multiple photos. She also left my place very clean. We had some back and forth over the start and end time, but she was able to stay for most of the booking time. Highly recommend! Thanks Blaize!”

“Robin was wonderful with my pets. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing that she was caring for Grayson and Sasha. The pictures I received showed two very happy and spoiled pets. LOL I'm so grateful that she was available.”

“Caitlin was wonderful with our fur baby!! She kept us updated through out our entire trip with pictures and videos. She was on time and very professional. She will be our go to girl for all future trips. I would highly recommend Caitlin for any family or friends in the area!”

“Alyssa was amazing with our 2 year old frenchtons . She stayed at our home and sent us a lot of videos and photos. She played and snuggled with them and gave them lots of love. I highly recommend Alyssa. She really cared and that goes a long way for us.”

“Dylan took excellent care of our pets while we were out of town. We met a couple weeks prior and discussed what was needed. He took time to get to know us and our pets and answered all our questions. He provided updates and pictures each time he came by the house. ?????”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Pasadena
Reanna was wonderful! My dog and my cat loved her and she took wonderful care of them and my house while I was away. I am a very new dog owner so I felt reassured by all the photos she sent and the frequent updates while I was away, it was good to know they were in good hands!

Jennifer did a great job house and cat sitting. I leave directions for sitters and she followed all directions perfectly. It takes a while for my cat to warm up to new people, and this stay was only several days, but my cat did start to come out before the stay ended, and seemed comfortable with Jennifer. Something that’s important for those of us with scaredy-cats. I’d definitely hire her again

Lauren was great, very friendly, very accommodating, easy to talk, does what she is asked to do and more, we are very happy that she was a dog sitter, I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog or cat sitter. Sincerely, Craig & Alda Very Happy Customers

Joli is amazing!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. We had her watch our dogs in our home for two weeks, and she was like family to them. Every photo she sent us we could tell our dogs were happy and fulfilled. She kept their routine and made sure they had exercise and lots of cuddles. We are so grateful to her, and we highly recommend her as a sitter.

This was our first time using Rover and we were so impressed with Julia’s exemplary service. We were camping at Fort DeSoto and needed someone to check in on our Yorkshire Terrier while we took the ferry to Egmont Key. She took great care of him and provided lots of updates. I highly recommend booking with her!
Niko and Willow were so happy with Aimee during her first visit we had her back! Aimee took excellent care of the two dogs and the house they allow me to live in. Aimee has proven herself to be 100% reliable in regards to caring for the dogs and we will absolutely have her back. She’s quickly becoming our most reliable and trusted sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred South Pasadena walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in South Pasadena maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Pasadena choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
