“Kimberly was thoughtful, communicative and vary caring. I was totally at ease while being away from my big old boy. She sent pictures daily with updates and I appreciated that she left my home clean. I definitely recommend Kimberly for any pet sitting (or house cleaning)!”

“I have never left my dog with anyone other than family or friends so I was nervous using rover for my first time. I had a friend cancel for watching my dog Saint a DAY before a trip I had planned. I was freaking out and didn’t know what to do. I found Kierra and rover and gave it a shot. She accepted my booking the day before I left and I couldn’t be more thankful. Kierra exceeded my expectations x 100! My dog Saint loves her and when I came home he was happy and well taken care of. Kierra checked in with me and sent me photos during my time away which made me feel sooooo much better. I would 100% recommend her to anyone, and will be using her services anytime I go out of town again and can’t take my baby!”

“This was my first time using a pet sitter. Shannon made the experience so nice and stress free. She was on time and took great care of my pets and went above and beyond on a special request. I would recommend Shannon highly and plan to use her again!”

“As always Kelly is great. I have two additions to my household - two kitties! She didn’t miss a beat and took great care of all of the babies. I will continue to book with Kelly!”

“Ben is THE BEST. I could tell right away that my dogs felt loved and comfortable around him. They don’t snuggle right away with everyone but immediately wanted his attention. I had to modify the dates a couple of times and he was very accommodating and friendly in his communication. He gave my dogs lots of attention while sitting and left the house spotless. We got regular updates and I very much appreciated his attention to detail with the directions we left for the dogs. I will for sure be booking with him again!”

“Zach was a very conscientious and reliable dog sitter. He sent pictures regularly with updates. Pogo was well taken care of while we were gone for a week. Our home was very clean and tidy when we got home. Thanks Zach”

“Our pup was well cared for and along with our home and fish. Becky is a great communicator and loving caregiver. Our dog is old with ailments and she was so good with him.”

“Aimee is amazing!! She was so great with my Shih Tzu, Bailey!! She was so accommodating. My trip was last minute and unexpectedly had to be extended an extra day and she was wonderful about it! Bailey is scared of storms and unfortunately there was some bad weather while I was away. She made sure he was comfortable, calm, and safe. She sent regular updates and adorable pics of Bailey! She took excellent care of my plants and my house in addition to my little guy! I already have her booked for another stay in September. I highly recommend her!”

“She was seriously the best. My dog was at the dog park everyday. He got a little staycation while we were away. House was super clean and she even filled our pool to help us out. Will definitely be booking again!”

“Kat is amazing! She stayed at our home for three nights with our two big yellow labs. We received updates and pictures every day, and it was clear they were getting lots of love! Came home to a clean house and happy pups!! We feel SO lucky to have a house sitter we can rely on! Thanks so much, Kat!!”

“We can’t thank Dylan enough for watching our fur babies. He was very attentive to them and was in constant communication with us. We received photos and updates everyday from him of dogs! I’ve always been very hesitant to leave my dogs behind to go on a trip but Dylan relieved all that worry! He will be our go to from now on to watch our babies! If you are anything like me and super protective over your dogs, I highly recommend Dylan!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Pasadena
Britt was very very patient with Louie. We lost our oldest dog about 5 weeks ago and this is the first time Louie stayed home by himself. Also the first time he met Brittany so a lot of new things happening. At first Louie did not want to go on a walk with Brittany but finally he got used to her and behaved like the sweet boy he is!! We would definitely hire her again. Specially now that Louie is familiar with her!

We had such a great experience! Elise stayed in our home with Bones while we were on vacation and took wonderful care of her. Bones can be pretty shy and nervous with new people, but she was so patient with her and completely won her over. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Bones was comfortable and well cared for while we were away. She also kept us updated throughout the stay with messages and photos, which we really appreciated. We would absolutely trust her to watch Bones again and highly recommend her!

Savannah helped us out with a last minute request and took great care of our kitties and our house. She’s very friendly and followed my many instructions without any issues. Great communication and sent cute photos of our cats! Even our scaredy cat warmed up to her quickly. We arrived home to happy, relaxed cats and a clean home. Thank you so much!

Lisa was so wonderful with our 16 year old pups. Our Goldendoodle has hip and weak back legs needing help getting up, a special hip brace for walks and overall extra care. She was so loving with her and aware when a storm was approaching to put her thunder vest on. I just can’t say enough good things about her. Thanks Lisa for loving our fur babies as much as we do!

I've never used a dog sitter before, so I was initially hesitant of hiring anyone I didn't know to come to my home and watch my dogs while I was away. Maria did a fantastic job watching my two bigger dogs and left my home the same way it was when I left. She asked questions to ensure she could provide the best care for them, showed up on time, and sent us updates every day. I would definitely use her again if needed. I would highly recommend her if you need your dogs to be watched!

Reanna was wonderful! My dog and my cat loved her and she took wonderful care of them and my house while I was away. I am a very new dog owner so I felt reassured by all the photos she sent and the frequent updates while I was away, it was good to know they were in good hands!

Jennifer did a great job house and cat sitting. I leave directions for sitters and she followed all directions perfectly. It takes a while for my cat to warm up to new people, and this stay was only several days, but my cat did start to come out before the stay ended, and seemed comfortable with Jennifer. Something that’s important for those of us with scaredy-cats. I’d definitely hire her again

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred South Pasadena walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in South Pasadena maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Pasadena choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
