“Lauren was amazing with my German Shepherd, Cooper and I highly recommend her services. She is professional, super friendly, and left my home in great condition. It can be challenging to find someone that you trust with your fur baby and your home, and Lauren exceeded my expectations.”

“Reanna pet sat our German Shepherd over a four day weekend. She provided timely updates, photos and took great care of our aging senior shepherd. We are very comfortable with having Reanna pet sit in the future. We came home to a happy girl.”

“Very communicative! She constantly made us feel like our babies were very well taken care of :) It was our first time leaving our puppy overnight and Marlene really went above and beyond to make sure we knew our girl was ok. Will absolutely have her watch our fur babies again!!”

“Amy was fantastic watching Winry! She was super communicative, sent photos, and made sure to keep us informed about anything going on (all good stuff). I look forward to using Amy in the future and I encourage you to as well!”
“Kelli went above and beyond while watching our dog, Kahlua. She was attentive and on top of everything and really made us feel comfortable while being away for a few days! From the pics and updates, we could see Kahlua had a blast too!”

“Alexis was prompt and followed all of my instructions. She sent photos almost daily and Blake looked comfortable and happy. I think he warmed up to her right away which is a great thing. She was neat and tidy and left my house just the way it was when we left. I would have her come back again if we need someone to watch him again.”

“Cara is an excellent sitter and made my first experience with Rover a great one. We received photo and video updates our our dogs throughout the duration of our travel and she is very responsive to text messages. She was able to make mid-day trips to care for our puppy who is on a more frequent eating and potty schedule. Cara was even flexible with her own vacation schedule to ensure our pets were cared for upon our return. I highly recommend Cara. She will be the first person I contact for future pet sitting needs.”

“Blaize was great!! I have 2 very *particular* dachshunds (if you have dachshunds, you know exactly what I’m talking about 😂) and they both took to Blaize quickly!! I really appreciated the daily check-ins and photos I got throughout my trip as well. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“We can’t thank Dylan enough for watching our fur babies. He was very attentive to them and was in constant communication with us. We received photos and updates everyday from him of dogs! I’ve always been very hesitant to leave my dogs behind to go on a trip but Dylan relieved all that worry! He will be our go to from now on to watch our babies! If you are anything like me and super protective over your dogs, I highly recommend Dylan!”

“Iva did a fantastic job house sitting for our cat. We left for 6 days and didn’t want the cat to be left alone so we found someone we could trust. She provided regular updates, photos, and let us know if she had any questions about the house or the cat. We arrived home this morning and both the cat and house are perfect. :) Thank you, Iva!”

“Caitlin was wonderful with our fur baby!! She kept us updated through out our entire trip with pictures and videos. She was on time and very professional. She will be our go to girl for all future trips. I would highly recommend Caitlin for any family or friends in the area!”

“Natalie did an awesome job with my furry babies Jax and Madison! She stayed in communication with me the entire time and sent pictures of the furry babies as well, I would definitely book with Natalie again!”
“Benjamin did a fantastic job taking care of our dog Riley. He was very quick to respond and was able to adjust when we had some last minute changes come up and still provided excellent care to our pup. Will definitely book Benjamin again in the future!”

“This is my second time using Alyssa to watch my young rescue dog Jed. He's a handful and she is the dog whisperer!! She brings along blankets, helps train him, always is on time and communicates regularly. I'll use Alyssa anytime!!”

Aimee is amazing!! She was so great with my Shih Tzu, Bailey!! She was so accommodating. My trip was last minute and unexpectedly had to be extended an extra day and she was wonderful about it! Bailey is scared of storms and unfortunately there was some bad weather while I was away. She made sure he was comfortable, calm, and safe. She sent regular updates and adorable pics of Bailey! She took excellent care of my plants and my house in addition to my little guy! I already have her booked for another stay in September. I highly recommend her!

I've never used a dog sitter before, so I was initially hesitant of hiring anyone I didn't know to come to my home and watch my dogs while I was away. Maria did a fantastic job watching my two bigger dogs and left my home the same way it was when I left. She asked questions to ensure she could provide the best care for them, showed up on time, and sent us updates every day. I would definitely use her again if needed. I would highly recommend her if you need your dogs to be watched!

Reanna was wonderful! My dog and my cat loved her and she took wonderful care of them and my house while I was away. I am a very new dog owner so I felt reassured by all the photos she sent and the frequent updates while I was away, it was good to know they were in good hands!

Jennifer did a great job house and cat sitting. I leave directions for sitters and she followed all directions perfectly. It takes a while for my cat to warm up to new people, and this stay was only several days, but my cat did start to come out before the stay ended, and seemed comfortable with Jennifer. Something that’s important for those of us with scaredy-cats. I’d definitely hire her again

Lauren was great, very friendly, very accommodating, easy to talk, does what she is asked to do and more, we are very happy that she was a dog sitter, I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog or cat sitter. Sincerely, Craig & Alda Very Happy Customers

Joli is amazing!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. We had her watch our dogs in our home for two weeks, and she was like family to them. Every photo she sent us we could tell our dogs were happy and fulfilled. She kept their routine and made sure they had exercise and lots of cuddles. We are so grateful to her, and we highly recommend her as a sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred South Pasadena walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in South Pasadena maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Pasadena choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
