“Lauren went above and beyond my expectations. This was his 1st time alone since his sister passed and Lauren kept him happy and comfortable. I highly recommend Lauren’s service.”

“Such a great experience! My puppy can be a lot and my other dog is a very anxious boy she was so great with both of them. I received pics my whole time away and constant updates. Highly recommend!”

“This was our first time using rover and so happy with Marlene. She kept us informed each day with pictures and left a real sweet note of our pets daily activities. Will definitely use her again and highly recommend.”

“Alexis accepted our request short notice and gave us so much comfort in knowing our little one was taken care of. She came over next day for meet and greet. She sent photo and text updates with our pup. We felt very secure and safe having her in our home, taking care of Myla.”

“My fear aggressive Great Dane warmed up to Benjamin quickly. She usually doesn’t eat for the first few days I board her, but she ate right away for Benjamin. Benjamin house sat overnight to see how my Great Dane would do compared to boarding, and she did great. Benjamin kept us nervous pet parents posted on how our Great Dane was doing. It was a pleasure working with Benjamin and I highly recommend him.”

“Savannah helped us out with a last minute request and took great care of our kitties and our house. She’s very friendly and followed my many instructions without any issues. Great communication and sent cute photos of our cats! Even our scaredy cat warmed up to her quickly. We arrived home to happy, relaxed cats and a clean home. Thank you so much!”

“My cats said they like this nanny! We just adopted a new cat and we didn't feel it was safe yet to leave them alone so we called on Reanna to babysit so we could go out for the evening. Nice to know she's close by when we're ready to do some real traveling!”

“We had such a great experience! Elise stayed in our home with Bones while we were on vacation and took wonderful care of her. Bones can be pretty shy and nervous with new people, but she was so patient with her and completely won her over. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Bones was comfortable and well cared for while we were away. She also kept us updated throughout the stay with messages and photos, which we really appreciated. We would absolutely trust her to watch Bones again and highly recommend her!”

“This was my first time using Rover, and Thomas completely exceeded every expectation I had. As someone who is very protective of my dog, I was nervous about trusting a new person, but Thomas made the entire experience incredibly easy, reassuring, and honestly, better than I could have imagined. Before even accepting the booking, he came by to meet Jax and instantly put both of us at ease. He listened carefully to every instruction, took my concerns seriously, and asked thoughtful, detailed questions to make sure he could care for Jax exactly the way I do. It was so obvious how much he genuinely cares about animals and wants to get it right. Throughout the stay, Thomas sent amazing updates and photos that showed just how happy, exercised, and loved Jax was the entire time. He went above and beyond to keep my pup engaged and comfortable. Knowing Jax was in such great hands allowed me to actually relax — something I honestly didn’t think was possible when leaving my dog with someone new. He stayed in my home and was incredibly respectful of my space. Everything was exactly as I left it, and he followed all of Jax’s routines perfectly. It felt like Jax got a little vacation of his own. Thomas gave me a level of peace of mind I didn’t think I’d ever have with a sitter. My initial apprehension about leaving my dog with someone new is completely gone and that is entirely because of him. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Thomas. He is responsible, kind, attentive, communicative, and genuinely exceptional at what he does. If you’re looking for a sitter who will treat your dog like family, look no further. Thomas is your guy, and I will absolutely be using him any chance I get.”

“Alyssa was amazing with our 2 year old frenchtons . She stayed at our home and sent us a lot of videos and photos. She played and snuggled with them and gave them lots of love. I highly recommend Alyssa. She really cared and that goes a long way for us.”

“I highly recommend Armando! He treated our babies as his own. He shared plenty of updates and photos. Wonderful experience, will definitely request him again!!”

“Blaize was fantastic with our very needy and messy dog. She was timely, sent plenty of videos of our dog while we were away, and was willing to come meet us and our dog prior to her watching of our dog! Would highly recommend!”

“Marina was great. She took great care of our small zoo and shared regular updates with pictures. It felt good that we could focus on our travel and know that our pets were in good hands. I highly recommend her.”

“Alexa was just phenomenal with my senior husky! She was communicative and sent picture updates. Def recommend to other dog parents out there, especially with older dogs!”

About: I’ve always loved animals and truly believe pets are family. I have two French Bulldogs of my own, ages 4 and 5, and I have experience caring for both dogs and cats, including pet sitting, feeding, playtime, walks, cuddles, and keeping litter boxes clean. I’m patient, attentive, and love getting to know each pet’s personality and routine. Whether your pet is playful, cuddly, shy, or a little spoiled, I’ll treat them with the same love and care I give my own. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets with someone you trust, and I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. 🐾❤️ I have a very flexible schedule and am home most of the day, so pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m able to accommodate different schedules and love having pets around for extra company! I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine and give them plenty of attention, playtime, and cuddles. I always follow each pet’s normal routine and the instructions their owner provides. During drop-ins and house sitting, I’ll make sure they’re fed, have fresh water, get plenty of attention and playtime, and are comfortable and happy. For dogs, I’m happy to take them on walks and give them the exercise they need. I’ll also keep their space clean. I treat every pet like my own and will always make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for while their owners are away. 🤍
About: I build a personal connection with each pet. I’ve spent years caring for dogs of all ages, from playful puppies who need guidance to sweet senior pets who need a little extra care. I enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality, and make sure they feel loved and comfortable while you're away. My goal is always to treat your pet like they’re my own, so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. As a full time student with classes Monday through Thursday, I am not always free during the week and free mostly on Fridays and weekends. I focus on providing the best experience for your dog during the time I walk dogs, and I prioritize their safety, comfort, and enjoyment. I make sure to follow any specific instructions you have, whether it’s about their walking route, pace, or any special needs that they might have. I always keep an eye on their behavior and well being during our walks, in order to make sure they get the exercise they need while also having fun. My goal is to return your dog happy, relaxed, and ready to rest after a fulfilling walk.

Kelly housesat for my dogs Linus and Maisie while I was on vacation recently. She sent frequent updates and pup pics/videos so that I wouldn't miss a thing. They went on daily walks around the neighborhood and got plenty of cuddle time. She took such great care of them, which gave me peace of mind while being far away. She was very patient with them especially when they were less obliging to go outside during stormy Florida weather, etc. The house was also spotless when I came home! I would definitely ask Kelly to pupsit in the future.

Kimberly was thoughtful, communicative and vary caring. I was totally at ease while being away from my big old boy. She sent pictures daily with updates and I appreciated that she left my home clean. I definitely recommend Kimberly for any pet sitting (or house cleaning)!

Reanna was wonderful during her stay with Honey! She was great with communication and kept me updated throughout the day, always including photos. She also left the house exactly as she found it. I felt very comfortable having her stay with Honey and will definitely be booking with her again!

Britt was very very patient with Louie. We lost our oldest dog about 5 weeks ago and this is the first time Louie stayed home by himself. Also the first time he met Brittany so a lot of new things happening. At first Louie did not want to go on a walk with Brittany but finally he got used to her and behaved like the sweet boy he is!! We would definitely hire her again. Specially now that Louie is familiar with her!

Regan did a wonderful job taking care of Bitty. She stayed at our home for 3 days with our little 15 year old Yorkie-poo. Bitty is A LOT! She is deaf, very needy but shy. She warmed up to Regan and even cried at the guest room door when she left. Regan sent photos and gave us daily updates. We will definitely use Regan again!

We’ve used Katie for the third time now for in-home pet sitting, and we couldn’t be happier! She is incredibly communicative and took such great care of our dog and our home. Even when he was being fussy, Katie was wonderful at sensing his temperament and mood and knowing exactly how to work with him. We’re so grateful to have someone as kind, caring, and skilled to look after him while we travel. We would not hesitate to recommend Katie to anyone!

Savannah helped us out with a last minute request and took great care of our kitties and our house. She’s very friendly and followed my many instructions without any issues. Great communication and sent cute photos of our cats! Even our scaredy cat warmed up to her quickly. We arrived home to happy, relaxed cats and a clean home. Thank you so much!

Alanna and Mark were so great with our pups! They accepted our last minute request after our booked dog sitter had a major change in their schedule. Mark worked from our house during the day then they did a drop in at night due to their proximity to our house, they were willing to accommodate our doggie girl’s schedules into their schedules and share the role, awesome couple! Highly recommend and look forward to using them moving forward as our primary sitters!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gulfport walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gulfport maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gulfport choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gulfport. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
