“I could not recommend Alison enough - she was beyond amazing! We have a rescue dog who is very fear aggressive and Alison took the time to come meet with him to see if they’d be a good match. She is so patient and kind, and that’s all we wanted for our older rescue. Alison also communicated with us on everything and was very timely. I came home to a relaxed, well taken care of pup. 10/10, book with Alison!”

“We are so lucky to have found Kim!! My wife and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, caring, and knowledgeable pet sitter. She sends hilariously detailed reports of her visits with our cats and the fun they get up to. We completely feel at ease knowing she is looking after our cats. We can’t praise her enough!”

“We are SO thrilled with our new sitter Marlene! She takes such good care of my Alfonse and my home while I'm at work. Perfect! Which is why we continue to schedule with her week after week :)”

About: Having pets for over 25 years, and having done a lot of pet sitting for others, has taught me what unconditional love is. I am committed to understanding what each individual pet needs and wants and I tailor my attention to every pet accordingly. Long walks for dogs ✅ shorter walks ✅ playtime ✅ lots of cuddles ✅ no cuddles, no problem ✅ I am here to care for animals the way they like, as it is all about them. I always walk the dogs at their pace and they can stop and sniff as much as they want ❤️ Working for myself, and two days part-time outside my home, offers ample time to care for your pet, whether in your home or mine. I have a big yard for your puppers to play and take long walks everyday...I would love to have your dog along on my neighborhood treks. I also like to load them up in the truck and drive to new, unexplored parts of town...new sights and sounds and smells to keep our awareness sharp.
“I can’t thank Mary enough for taking care of my little girl while I was gone. I was a nervous wreck but she goes above and beyond for our loved ones. Also she is an animal whisper and my cat looked forward to seeing her everyday, she made sure that my kitty was set up for the rest of her day with her drop in visit! Cannot say enough good things about Mary’s visit!”

“Lisa was great! This is our 2nd booking and she is perfect for our pups. Always prompt and takes lots of photos. Sweet and caring. We can’t wait to use her again!”

“I highly recommend Miles. She was excellent with my little ones, attentive and caring, she earned their trust and communicated very well with them. And she kept me informed of everything. I loved her work. 💖”

“Brittany was amazing, really investing in making friends with our cats, even the one that was being standoffish. She also sent tons of pictures and a quick written update that I really appreciated. Looking forward to having her sir for us again.”

About: I have been happily adopting animals into my family home since 2005! That comes with hands on experience with training, quality care, and an extreme love for pets and animals! I have been pet-sitting for years, whenever I can add it to my schedule it becomes a priority! I am a recent graduate from Pennsylvania State University! I studied Psychology and Neuroscience, and I moved to Florida to work for a year before returning to graduate school. I would be available for drop-in visits during the week in the mornings, and in the evenings I have open availability! I have experience with training, and handling animals that require extra care and comfort! I aim to not only make your animal(s) enjoy our time together, but for you as the owner to have a positive experience as well!
About: I had my dog from age 6-18 and I was her main caretaker. I taught her a lot of tricks, so I am familiar with a lot of common commands. She was so special to me, so I can ensure that I will always treat your pets with the most kindness and respect to honor that bond. I am currently going to college, but I have a lot of flexibility. It is summer so classes are not currently running, and I have more time to care for animals! While boarding, I have a fenced in yard as well as a nice neighborhood for walks. Either while boarding or pet sitting, I make sure that I learn their routines from you and make sure that I follow them as closely as possible.
“Can’t rave about Sam enough! She was able to come feed my kitties last minute when someone cancelled day of. She sent pictures and videos so I was able to relax and know my girls were taken care of!”

About: I’ve spent my life caring for animals of all kinds, including horses, rabbits, cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies. I truly love animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. I have four cats and experience caring for pets of all ages and with medical needs. I’m comfortable giving oral medications and injections, and I’ve cared for cats with complex conditions, including FIP, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), asthma, allergies, hyperthyroidism, and hypothyroidism. In Los Angeles, I worked with local cat rescues, and earlier this year I fostered a five-week-old puppy full-time for three months before helping him find a wonderful forever home. One of my own cats was diagnosed with FIP, and I never gave up on her. After that, I helped the owners of two other cats with FIP by administering their injections and supporting them through treatment, and both cats survived. I owned my horse from 2001 until she passed away at 25 years old in 2024, which taught me a lifetime of responsibility and commitment. My own cats have traveled to 16 states with me, and I love taking pets on walks, hikes, and safe adventures. Because I work remotely, I have a very flexible schedule and can provide attentive care throughout the day. I’m reliable, patient, and would do anything for animals. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. Pet care is part of my everyday life. I work remotely, so I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide reliable care throughout the day. My own pets are my top priority, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, whether that’s playing, going for walks, giving medications, or simply keeping them company and making them feel safe and loved. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I’ll follow your routine as closely as possible, making sure your pet is fed, exercised, played with, cuddled (if they enjoy it), and given plenty of attention. I’ll clean litter boxes for cats, take dogs on walks, and administer medications if needed. I know how important peace of mind is, so I’ll send regular updates, photos, and videos while you’re away. I’m also very understanding of anxious pet parents, so you’re always welcome to message me with questions or check in at any time. If you have pet cameras in your home, I’m completely comfortable with that too. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gulfport. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
