“Dian was incredible. Sunny actually went to another house with cats that kept swatting and hissing at him. He was already timid with animals so was skiddish and freaked out. We were in a bind with no animals allowed at our condo so Dian took him in very last minute. Dian had SUCH a calming atmosphere and home. She was patient with him and so was her super friendly pup. Sunny ended up relaxing and had the best time. Felt right at home. She was the absolute best sitter and I will use her any time I’m town. I would give her 10 stars if possible.”

“Hurley felt right at home with Pamela and her dog. She took great care of him. She kept me updated and sent pictures throughout the day. She gave him all his medicine and walked him everyday. Definitely recommend her to anyone!!!! Next time I need someone I will use her again!!!!”

“We had a great experience with Liz and Brian watching Lou while we were out of town for a few days. They were friendly, easy to communicate with, and sent photos of Lou while we were gone. Their home was neat and tidy and they have a nice backyard that Lou enjoyed with their dog Rocky. We appreciated that that they only watch one households pet at a time with their dog Rocky. We would have no hesitation using them again in the future. Lou was happy and tired when we got him home.”

“Pam provided very good care for Ziggy. He seemed very happy with his companions. Pam carefully selects similar size dogs and limits number of boarders at the same time. Will definitley use her and Alfy again. Torsten”

“My dog had the best time and Laurie was fantastic in keeping in touch with pictures and videos of his stay with her and her dogs. Thank you so much for accommodating and giving Maverick a weekend of fun and excitement.”

“There is nothing better than leaving your pup and knowing that they will be well taken care of. From start to finish, Maddie made everything easy. She asked the right questions, was an excellent communicator, shared pictures throughout the stay, and was genuinely kind. We are so grateful! Thank you Maddie!”

“Dawn was wonderful. My good boy had the best time. He played ball in the backyard and was well taken care of. Gil even participated in her son’s sleepover and loved it. He loved all the attention he received. Dawn sent plenty of pictures letting me know how my good boy was doing. I definitely recommend Dawn.”

“Kolin and Adam were wonderful pet sitters for my 3 year old cavalier! They took excellent care of him, sent me great updates on how he was doing, asked appropriate questions about his care and also sent some really cute pictures! They both are very user friendly and have a great sense of humor. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them as pet sitters.”

“Amy was a great sitter for our dog, Theo, while we were away on vacation! She was easy to work with, sent great photos and updates, and even bought Theo a ball that she sent him home with. He has played with that ball daily! Her dog and Theo got along well too. We will definitely consider her again for our future needs. We're happy to have found her!”

“My dog loves Amy! She pays attention to what you tell her about your pup and treats it as if it were her own. I recommend Amy to all dog/cat parents and will use her services in the future.”

“Tiffany provided an amazing home away from home for my dog lambeau while watching him! Her backyard was perfect for Lambeau to run around and explore. I will definitely be using Tiffany in the future!”

“We boarded our 12 year old little beagle, Dodger, with Daniel for a week. We received at least one photo of Dodger every day which was very reassuring because we could see how content he was in this new environment. Daniel is great with all breeds and very knowledgeable, a definite dog friendly person. We will absolutely seek him out the next time we need a place for Dodger to stay. He has a huge fenced in back yard, his dogs get a great deal of play and exercise and every one of them seem happy.”

“Joli was great! We were super comfortable leaving our handful of a Dane with her while we were out of town. He seemed really at home when we picked him up and she kept us updated with pictures.”
“Ruthie and her husband were incredibly kind and took such great care of our Benny. They kept him active, happy, and well loved throughout his stay. We especially appreciated the frequent photos and updates, which gave us a peace of mind while we were away knowing he was in such good hands. We would happily trust them with Benny again!”

“We had a great experience with him! He took amazing care of our american bulldog and kept us updated throughout the stay with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dog came home happy, well cared for, and clearly got lots of attention. He was reliable, communicative, and treated our dog like one of his own. We would absolutely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring Rover sitter!”

“Adrina and Scarlet were friendly and professional. They gave constant updates by pictures and text and very accommodating to Whiskey’s needs. We’ll definitely use them again.”

“Milo loved his stay with Susan. He especially loved chasing lizards in the beautiful back yard. When I went to pick him up, he wanted to stay longer. Susan sent me updates and communication was timely.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Gulfport
Mark is an angel! My pup, Fernie, is a 17 year old maltese and I had to go on a mandatory work trip for the week. I just moved to the area and so happy I found Mark on this app. He was very caring, asked specific questions about how to care for Fernie. He didn't have any other pets in his home, which was very nice since Fernie doesn't move around so well. Mark sent me a picture every day of Fernie. He went to the store to buy her some diaper pads, he gave her meds to help with her anxiety. Mark is truly special and if I ever have sitter needs in the future, I will definitely be contacting him.

Jennifer and her family treated my two goldendoodles like they were part of her own family. The whole family loved and enjoyed them, and Jennifer sent me wonderful updates and photos, so I never worried the whole week we were gone from them. This was such a positive experience for my dogs and me. You could see how happy they were in all of their photos. Jennifer was pleasant and patient and such a great communicator. I appreciated the peace and confidence of our doodles being in her care and we will definitely be utilizing her professional services again in the future.

We had a great first experience! The communication was excellent from start to finish and it was clear Francesca had read our care instructions, which gave us peace of mind. She has a nice fenced backyard and our dog, Gracie, settled in quickly and seemed happy and comfortable during her stay. Francesca was kind, attentive, and we'd definitely feel comfortable leaving Gracie with her again.

my past dog sitter moved away and Savannah was able to help me with a last minute booking, she was incredibly caring and made sure to send me lots of pictures and updates of my baby! diego seemed really sad to leave her which is always a good sign! i will definitely be using her services again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
