“This was the first time we had used Blaize for in home per sitting. We had a family emergency and had to move up our trip by two weeks very last minute. Blaize was so flexible and agreed to sit literally the day before we had to leave. She was also respectful and comforting of my hesitation with having someone I didn’t know stay at my house and care for our two dogs. She was dependable, sent regular updates, and left my house as if she hadn’t even been there. We were very happy with Blaize and will continue to use her in the future.”

“Elise stayed @ my home with my Callie girl for 5 days & did an outstanding job!! She checked in sending pictures several times throughout the days & let me know what they were doing. I trusted her completely in my home. Very nice young lady & will recommend her to anyone to dog sit their fur babies”

“Such a great experience! My puppy can be a lot and my other dog is a very anxious boy she was so great with both of them. I received pics my whole time away and constant updates. Highly recommend!”

“I have never left my dog with anyone other than family or friends so I was nervous using rover for my first time. I had a friend cancel for watching my dog Saint a DAY before a trip I had planned. I was freaking out and didn’t know what to do. I found Kierra and rover and gave it a shot. She accepted my booking the day before I left and I couldn’t be more thankful. Kierra exceeded my expectations x 100! My dog Saint loves her and when I came home he was happy and well taken care of. Kierra checked in with me and sent me photos during my time away which made me feel sooooo much better. I would 100% recommend her to anyone, and will be using her services anytime I go out of town again and can’t take my baby!”

About: I will love your pets the way I loved mine. I recently lost my two miniature schnauzers, Fiona and Toughy, after 15 and 16 beautiful years together. That kind of love doesn’t go anywhere. It just gets poured into every pet I have the privilege of caring for. I’m based in St. Petersburg and available for pet sitting. Since I don’t drive, I keep my focus close to home, which means your pet (and your home) gets my full, unhurried attention. I know what it means to hand over your keys and your baby to someone. I treat every home I enter with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. You’ll always know what’s going on. I communicate, I notice the little things, and I don’t cut corners. Your pets aren’t clients to me. They never have been. About your pet: Tell me their quirks, their routine, what makes them feel safe. That’s the stuff that matters most to me. In the midst of my flexible work-from-home routine, I have ample availability on both weekdays and weekends, I'm not just a pet caregiver, I'm a companion for your fur babies. Whether it's daily walks or playtime, I ensure your babies receive the love and attention they deserve. Your pets are not just clients; they're family. Let me make your life easier and their tails wag happier! 🐾 Creating a safe and trusting environment is a top priority in both my personal and professional life. In addition to consistent care, attention to their needs, and open communication with pet parents, it's not just about feeding and walking; it's about creating a haven where pets can feel safe and happy.
“Marharyta was absoultoely wonderful with Bridget and Ziggy! I was so worried leaving Ziggy for the first time, especially with his separation anxiety, however, I could tell before I even left for vacation that he had already warmed up to her. She kept in constant contact, and I was able to see both Bridget and Ziggy happy and having fun. She watched them in our home, and our home was perfect when we came home. Awesome Awesome sitter!”

“Reanna was absolutely wonderful to work with and a great caretaker for our 10 month old high-energy Cavalier puppy. Prompt and mature communication throughout booking and care. Very polite and mature in person. Highly recommended!”

“Iva did a fantastic job house sitting for our cat. We left for 6 days and didn’t want the cat to be left alone so we found someone we could trust. She provided regular updates, photos, and let us know if she had any questions about the house or the cat. We arrived home this morning and both the cat and house are perfect. :) Thank you, Iva!”

“Absolutely fantastic. Melanie is extremely responsive and goes the extra mile. She was even able to provide medication to our VERY stubborn cat. It’s so nice to know that we can leave town for work or pleasure knowing our pets will be well taken care of!”

“Barbara was wonderful. She kept me informed about my fur babies and they were all well cared for while I was gone. Will be using Barbara again if she is available.”

“Ryan was a fabulous communicator and care giver. He met our older dog (14 years old) twice before we left on vacation. Then he watched her at our house for a full week. Everything went smoothly and we were able to enjoy ourselves knowing Ryan was taking good care of Velvet!”

“Ben was accommodating by fitting us in on short notice for house-sitting. He was very detailed in his care for birdie, making note of Birdie's temperament toward strangers, feeding behavior, and idiosyncrasies. We will definitely be using Ben again for house and dog sitting needs. Thank you Ben!”

“Jonell was spectacular! Sending pictures and videos of our babies- she was very accommodating and super super sweet! Our babies were in good hands I will 1000% be rebooking with Jonell!”

“Rayne was amazing!! she kept us updated and sent photos and videos to show how happy the pups were to have her there! She went above and beyond, and I know Mimi and Binx can’t wait to see her again!”

“Kat is amazing! She stayed at our home for three nights with our two big yellow labs. We received updates and pictures every day, and it was clear they were getting lots of love! Came home to a clean house and happy pups!! We feel SO lucky to have a house sitter we can rely on! Thanks so much, Kat!!”

“Becky was a fantasy dog sitter during our 11 night trip out of the country. She sent us photos and updates every day and immediately brought up any concerns. She took our pup for walks even though we have a big back yard and gave him lots of pets and snuggles. She went above and beyond bringing in our mail and watering the plants too. We’ve already booked her for our next out of town vacation.”

We had such a great experience! Elise stayed in our home with Bones while we were on vacation and took wonderful care of her. Bones can be pretty shy and nervous with new people, but she was so patient with her and completely won her over. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Bones was comfortable and well cared for while we were away. She also kept us updated throughout the stay with messages and photos, which we really appreciated. We would absolutely trust her to watch Bones again and highly recommend her!

This was our first time booking with Elise, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Before our trip, she took the time to come over to meet the girls, learn their routines, and make sure she knew where their food, treats, and everything else they needed was kept. Right away, she made me feel completely comfortable leaving our dog, cat, and home in her care. While we were away, Elise took the absolute best care of them and kept us updated with texts and pictures, which we really appreciated.. we looked forward to the updates every day! We came home to happy pets and a house that was somehow even cleaner than when we left! Elise is friendly, trustworthy, and thoughtful. It was such a relief knowing our girls were in such good hands while we were away. We can’t thank her enough and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful pet sitter! ❤️

Tess stayed at our house and took care of our girl for 10 days while we went on vacation. She took amazing care of our dog, and treated our home with respect. We got daily updates and pictures, and had 0 worries while we were gone. It’s clear our girl was spoiled and loved while we were gone. We will use Tess for any future pet sitting needs, and would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.

Mike was the BEST four-legged friend sitter. He is so attentive and great with animals. I loved all the videos and photos he sent during the day. Definitely makes it easier to be away from your pet child for so long. Would 10,000% recommend Mike! Thanks so much for caring for Roxy… She was definitely a happy dog when I returned! 😊🐶

Emily was such a wonderful dog sitter! Our mini schnauzer can be very barky with new people but made immediate friends with Emily. She kept us updated, and when our flight was canceled and we were delayed by 2 days, Emily was kind enough to extend the stay to make sure our doggo was taken care of. Such a lifesaver!!!! 100% recommend 😊 we’ll be booking again!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West and East Lealman walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West and East Lealman maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West and East Lealman choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
