“Kelly was amazing! We had a last minute family emergency and she really came through. She took amazing care of our fur babies and our home, with quick responses and tons of updates and images. I would highly recommend and absolutely rebook next time.”

“I have never left my dog with anyone other than family or friends so I was nervous using rover for my first time. I had a friend cancel for watching my dog Saint a DAY before a trip I had planned. I was freaking out and didn’t know what to do. I found Kierra and rover and gave it a shot. She accepted my booking the day before I left and I couldn’t be more thankful. Kierra exceeded my expectations x 100! My dog Saint loves her and when I came home he was happy and well taken care of. Kierra checked in with me and sent me photos during my time away which made me feel sooooo much better. I would 100% recommend her to anyone, and will be using her services anytime I go out of town again and can’t take my baby!”

“Michaela was great! She watched our two dogs in our home for the week and was very communicative, attentive and made our dogs feel comfortable and happy while we were gone. She was also very respectful of our home and space!”

“Such a great experience! My puppy can be a lot and my other dog is a very anxious boy she was so great with both of them. I received pics my whole time away and constant updates. Highly recommend!”

“Constance was an amazing house sitter. We needed a last minute house sitter replacement and reached out and met with her only a couple of days prior, so that alone had us anxious. But from the booking request initial messaging to doing an introduction with our dog Winnie, she eased all the worries we had with her calm and sincere love for dogs nature. Constance was always available to message when we were available during vacation, and gave us regular updates throughout. And to add to that, was a great house guest. Went above and beyond to clean up, making for an extremely stress free and clean up free return from a late night flight. Would highly recommend reaching out to Constance if you’re in need.”

“So thankful for Samantha & her help with the dogs/ watching our house on a busy holiday weekend. She took great care of them & our house. We will definitely be booking her in the future! Thank you :)”

About: Long before I started Rover, I’ve always been the go-to dog sitter for my friends, family, neighbors, and everyone in between. I’ve gotten tons of gigs over the years from word of mouth alone as my clients know how reliable and trustworthy I am to watch their pups. I work full time remotely from home, so I love to get out of the house during the day! Though I’m also interested in checkins/walks before and after work. I’m always respectful of clients’ spaces - I treat your home as I’d want someone else to treat mine. I do what needs to be done for your pup whether it’s feeding, walking, or just giving snuggles.

“Communicative, respectful, caring, and most of all trustworthy. Joli was a pleasure to have. This was my first time leaving my dog with anyone besides my parents, so as you can imagine I was nervous. She was willing to work with my schedule and I could immediately tell my dog was her highest priority. Joli house sat for me as well, and she treated my home with respect and went the extra miles. Joli took the initiative to proactively give me updates on Chip and their adventures, and it made me so happy! Chip had the best time!! The icing on the cake was that on my flight back I was delayed and could have missed my connection. Joli was very willing to stay with Chip longer if I did miss my connection. She made sure I made my connecting flight and made sure I made it home. I will exclusively be using Joli every time I need a puppy sitter and I highly highly recommend leaving your animals with her. She will spoil them with attention and affection while you are away!”

“Dakota has been a wonderful addition to our family while vacationing here in Florida. She presents with calm energy and my dogs warmed up to her immediately. She is prompt and communicates effectively. We feel so fortunate to have found her and highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs.”

“Callie was amazing! She came before the stay for a quick meet and greet, and was great with my dog and cat! I came home to both of them being very tired from a fun weekend. She sent me picture updates and took care of my dog throwing up one day without panicking or making me worry too much! Will definitely book with Callie again!! (:”

About: I have doggie sat a lot of my friend’s dogs. I am the one who spoils them with love, affection and if allowed treats! Treat as they were my own. I make it work with my schedule. I can go in am, daytime and evening, they deserve it and I hate to leave them when I have to go. I clean up after, clean littler boxes, freshen water and food, treats are given and everyone is loved on. They want lovin while I am around.
About: I love taking long walks and who better to join than a special doggo! I regularly take care of my best friends dog when she’s away and would love to meet yours. I have recently been laid off of my full time job of 14 years and would love to spend my free time helping take care of peoples fur babies. In my own home, each cat has their own litterbox that is cleaned every day. They eat wet food in the mornings, dry food in evenings. Both are neutered, chipped and vaccinated.
“Kerri was an amazing sitter for our little crew! Our sitter we have used in the past for our babies was not available for our long European trip, and Kerri happily took on the challenge very last minute! Being away from our gang for 11 days was a really long time! (probably the longest we have been away from them) but Kerri made us feel at ease. We knew our pets were loved and taken care of, and our home was also in good hands! She sent frequent updates and pics and went above and beyond to go buy them extra food when they ran out! We would highly recommend Kerri!”

Nhu was great staying at our house with our Maui for a week. He needs a lot of love and we came home to a happy pup and a well-cared-for home. She sent regular updates and photos and was very conscientious about Maui’s needs and about the house. Would definitely recommend and would request Nhu again!

Blaize came highly recommended from our best friends and we absolutely loved having her come and watch our dog for the long holiday weekend. Our dog is very anxious and it was the Fourth of July weekend so that just added to her anxiety but Blaize was so patient and amazing and caring with her. She kept me updated the whole weekend and was in contact the whole time. I felt 100% comfortable with her watching our girl and would recommend her to anyone!!

Kylie did a fantastic job. My high energy Aussie doodle absolutely loved Kiley. Kylie kept in good touch with me, fed her on her schedule with her raw dog food diet, and sent pictures of her playing with Frankie and walking her. When I came home it was like nothing even changed. I definitely recommend Kiley and will be using her for myself again too thank you!

Emma was absolutely fantastic with her care and support for my sweet cat Juno. I took an extended trip and Emma stepped in to look after my home as well as taking such great care of Juno. She looked after all the details around the house during my time away, and left everything in spotless condition upon my return. I could not be happier to have met Emma and the service she provided - I cannot recommend her more highly to anyone for both animal care and house sitting - Emma is absolutely the best!

Sara was so amazing with my Ella! I went away on a short weekend getaway. I felt so comfortable. Not once did I worry about Ella. She kept me updated with the cutest pictures along the way. In fact, Ella was so sad when she left. She only gets that way with her sisters. It was so sweet! I will absolutely rebook with her whenever I need a sitter again. So happy! 💜💜

We had such a wonderful experience! This lovely couple took amazing care of our two dogs, and from the very beginning I could tell how much they truly love animals. They were attentive, kind, and made sure our pups were comfortable and happy the whole time. We got great updates, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such caring hands. Everything went smoothly, and our dogs clearly adored them. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, loving sitters! 🐾

FAQs for House Sitting - Gandy
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Gandy on Rover is $46.62 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,314 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Gandy. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gandy walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gandy maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gandy choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
