About: My home has never been dog-less. We grew up with labs and mutts. I currently have a 4 year old rescue gremlin. I have fostered 14 dogs. I have a weakness for the pitties and big drooly dogs. I volunteer with a dog rescue, Wags and Walks, so I have experience with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. Just let me know your pup's routine. I will tailor my walks to your dog's needs.... exercise, potty breaks, socialization, etc. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Thanks for checking out my profile! I hope to meet your pup soon! I WFH so am pretty flexible with times I can swing by. Im mindful of hot florida afternoons and won't walk your dog on concrete if it means burnt paws. I'll treat your pup like my own! Your house will be locked up while we're walking and your pup will be brought back safely.
“Zach is wonderful with Louis. Louis is recovering from surgery and Zach is gentle and kind with him. He has helped us when given little notice, too. Highly recommend him.”

About: Hi fur moms and dads! I'm Marinella and after 15 years of having two energetic terriers on my hands, I find myself with an empty dog nest and plenty of time to care for your kiddos. I love actually spending time with animals when I watch them and after having senior pets, I take instructions pretty seriously. Whether it's an overnight you need or just a walk when you get delayed during your day, I'm your girl. I do have a kitty at home so for boarding, your pups would have to be very friendly with cats. Right now, I’m unemployed so I am able to care for your pets as long as I’m in the area. I wake up very early most days: 6 am at the latest. I’m not a big sleeper so if your pet needs attention at 2 am, I’m okay with that! In my home, the pets would have to be comfortable with a condo. I have a screened patio and I live on the first floor. There’s plenty of grass and open space for walking in the complex. At your place it’s totally your call how you want me to handle your pet.
About: I grew up with dogs and cats but currently live in an apartment with roommates and can’t adopt my own! Has experience with boxers, pit bulls, rotties, german shepards, and some sassy cats. I live in Saint Petersburg but work in Tampa and can set my own hours/ work from home if needed! Generally work from 8-4 on weekdays. Not offering my home currently but have house and pet sat numerous times since I was a teenager. I also have a car and can take your fur baby to a dog park or beach if wanted!
“Michaela did a wonderful job watching our cat. She showed up on time, sent pictures, and went the extra mile when we still had our old address was still linked to our profile. Would highly recommend!”

“I can't say enough positive things about Kyleigh! She did an excellent job with the drop-in visits for my dog, taking her out, feeding her, and keeping her happy. She also managed to fit in a last-minute visit when I took longer than expected returning home, which saved the day. Super dependable, courteous, and professional. I highly suggest her for amazing pet care!”

This is our first time using the Rover service and Beth was a wonderful sitter for our 2 cats. She communicated and took photos of our babies daily. When there was an issue, she helped to get it corrected and made both our cats and us feel comfortable. She’s a great resource for those who travel

Appreciated Rachel’s willingness to care for my pets! I have a very reactive cat and she was willing to come and meet him to assess if it would be a good situation with VERY little notice! Additionally, she was honest about how comfortable she felt with the situation. Very kind and non-judgmental!

Kierra was absolutely amazing!! She took great care of my cats while I was away. Any time she had a question she would contact me and go to extra efforts to make everything work. She is very responsive, flexible, and reliable. I highly recommend booking with her!

Maria is such a great Rover. She has great communication and always makes me feel like my cats are in good hands while I’m away. My cats just love her too! She is attentive and makes sure to spend time playing with them and loving them as if they are her own.

Samantha was phenomenal with James. So many detailed updates and photos that I loved seeing when I was on my travels. I know Samantha took great care of my son with how we was acting when I got back home. I would not hesitate to book her for any pet sitting needs! She’s the best

Jennifer was an excellent cat-sitter for my two cats while I was away for 9 days. Great communication, I felt comfortable knowing how things were going daily with each visit and she responded timely to my messages. I would definitely recommend her for your pets.

Took care of my cats and hedgehog over the holidays. Allison was a great communicator and took care of them well. One of my cats is very outgoing and the other is more shy -- I was surprised how quickly my shy one started playing with her and wasn't afraid at all. Wonderful, thank you.
Ellie was fantastic! Our dog is sometimes stubborn on the first few days we are away, but she was so patient with her while we were gone. She hand fed her, tried treats and multiple other suggestions we had until she got her to eat! She sends lots of photos/videos and even got our grumpy cat to accept pets from her! We couldn’t have asked for a better babysitter for peace of mind while we were away.

I had such a great experience using Shannon for drop-in visits. She was super communicative the entire time and made me feel really at ease while I was away. I loved getting the photo updates and details about how each visit went. I’d absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter, and I’m definitely looking forward to booking with her again in the future!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gandy. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
