“This was my dog Maeve's first time doing doggie daycare with Julie, Brian, and their dog Horatio, and she had a great time! They kept me updated during and gave me a full report afterward. I'll definitely be making this a regular thing!”

“Evette and her sweet lab Lady made our fur babies feel right at home! They were so happy/relaxed/tired from playing all day when we picked them up! Evette was so professional and accommodating, easy to trust right away. She sent so many amazing updates and photos about their stay together! We will for sure be asking her for help again!”

“We appreciated Christina’s calm and gentle manner As soon as we met her she just exuded knowledge and understanding. Maddie went with her right away. Christina kept us updated about Maddie through photos and texts. We would definitely use her again on another trip to Tampa”

About: Dog person through and through—I grew up with a chow/husky mix and spent the last five years as a very devoted dog mom to a chocolate lab/pit mix. Since then, I’ve been the go-to for friends’ dogs, whether that’s quick drop-ins or longer stays while they’re out of town. I’ve hosted multiple dogs at once (we used to joke my place was a “puppy palace”), so I’m very comfortable managing different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I previously sat on Rover in Denver and am now in St. Pete, excited to get back to spending time with dogs. I’m reliable, communicative, and will treat your dog like my own—expect regular updates, photos, and a happy, well-cared-for pup. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or just hanging out, I’m happy to match their pace. I work 100% remote for a software company. I can easily pop out during the day between meetings/calls and am free to board pets when I am in town. I know your dog is family, and I treat them that way. I take the time to understand each dog’s personality, routine, and any specific needs so they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I live in a large one-bedroom apartment (no other pets) near the pier with plenty of grassy areas for walks. I have a flexible schedule, so your dog will get lots of attention, exercise, and company throughout the day. Dogs are absolutely welcome on the couch and bed here—this is a relaxed, safe environment where they can feel at home.

“Beverly did a wonderful job taking care of my foster greyhound, Mongoose. He always left her home happy and tired, and I know he enjoyed roaming around her fenced yard! She was very kind in accommodating his separation anxiety and I would absolutely hire her again to care for my pets.”

“I’m so thrilled to have found a safe and happy place for June! She gets so excited when she realizes where the car is going!!! And so happy to see Alli and Mac! I don’t have to worry how the day is going because Alli sends photos and up dates!!!”

“Sydney was the absolute best with our little cockapoo baby, Lia. I was nervous coming from NY, not knowing anyone in the area. She reassured me Lia would be in great hands and did not disappoint. She gave her walks (they saw dolphins 🥰), potty breaks, helped our Lia become comfortable around another pup and new surrounding. Checked in and sent pics throughout the day. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend her. Lia will definitely be back to visit ❤️ thank you so much Sydney”

“Heather is absolutely GREAT with dogs, having 4 of her own! She welcomes them with warm love and is so caring and attentive with each one. Gracie had a wonderful first time experience and will definitely be back as we have already booked a few more dates with Heather. I highly recommend her!”

“So fortunate to have found Rachel. She has a cozy comfortable place for my two dogs. Her two cats and one dog are so sweet and friendly. I’d recommend her a hundred times.!”

“Rachel is just the 2nd pet sitter my 2 year old Chihuahua has had. Dante is very much a Momma's boy so I was very worried how he would do. I'm here for a 90 day TDY assignment and didn't want to leave him in Texas. The first day he was mad at me for leaving him with a stranger but by the 3rd day, he was adjusting and the 4th day he made a huge improvement. I'm thankful for Rachel's patience and the follow up. I plan to continue with Rachel 4 days a week thru June. I would definitely recommend her!”

About: Your dog’s safety, happiness, and your peace of mind are my top priorities! With a calm, caring approach and great attention to detail, I make sure every visit is safe, playful, and stress-free. You’ll always get clear, timely updates—because you deserve to know your pup is in good hands! I am able to administer medications if needed, and will provide special care to any ill or disabled pets. Our pets hold a special place in our hearts as if they were children, and I make sure your pet(s) feel loved. I currently work from home and have time throughout the day to play and go for multiple walks a day. I am available all days of the week for care! I have plenty of space in my home for your pet to feel comfortable to run around (zoomies, if that's the case), or they can lay around and be lazy. Either way your dog is free to be themselves.
“Alyssa and Ace are so good for Bailey! Alyssa is so patient with her since she is very sensitive. Ace is great at showing Bailey how to 'dog'. I am so glad we found Alyssa & Ace to help us thru this journey with our sweet girl Bailey. :-)”

“Alex is so easy to work with! I originally connected with Alex in hopes that I could find an occasional weekend sitter but he takes such good care of Shadow that I am using him even on my week days while I go into the office or have errands. I highly recommend.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Gandy
I had a last minute request (day before) for someone to watch my dog for a day because he recently injured his pads on all 4 feet and I needed to go to work but was not comfortable leaving him alone. At the time when Kathleen watched him, he was in a cone and on medication. When we talked beforehand, Kathleen was very kind and thoughtful, asking great questions and anticipating potential needs to make sure he would be safe and comfy in her care. While watching him, he ended up feeling a bit better than he had been in previous days and not as groggy from his medications, so was not as calm as I thought he would be for her, but she still did a great job of making sure he stayed safe and did not re-injure his feet. She provided updates at reasonable intervals without me having to ask and was very kind the entire time, even with me not knowing exactly what time I would be able to pick him up. Thanks so much to Kathleen, I would definitely trust her to watch my boy again.

Voici une version corrigée : Kierra was absolutely amazing with Lucky! She took such great care of her and kept us updated with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that Lucky was happy, comfortable, and well loved while he was with her. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would definitely book with Kierra again. Thank you so much!

Tara is an amazing dog sitter. Her house is huge, her roommates are so kind , and they have an awesome backyard and pool. She is very flexible, kind and understanding. Sent me a few photos.. Tesla seemed very happy and I’m grateful to her because I work weird hours. I will definitely book with her again. My favorite part was she got to spend time with an Aussie which Tesla got along with great. Tara did let me know this which meant so much.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
