“Christina was so great with my dog Molly. Molly is afraid of people and other dogs but Christina quickly had her relaxed and mingling with the other dogs. She sent me lots of pictures during her stay and I couldn’t believe it, she was happy and playing with the other dogs! Christina has a wonderful house and large lawn, and she is with the dogs all day. She keeps all the dogs relaxed and happy. It’s like a summer camp! Molly can’t wait to go back!”

“Sydney was the absolute best with our little cockapoo baby, Lia. I was nervous coming from NY, not knowing anyone in the area. She reassured me Lia would be in great hands and did not disappoint. She gave her walks (they saw dolphins 🥰), potty breaks, helped our Lia become comfortable around another pup and new surrounding. Checked in and sent pics throughout the day. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend her. Lia will definitely be back to visit ❤️ thank you so much Sydney”

“I had a last minute request (day before) for someone to watch my dog for a day because he recently injured his pads on all 4 feet and I needed to go to work but was not comfortable leaving him alone. At the time when Kathleen watched him, he was in a cone and on medication. When we talked beforehand, Kathleen was very kind and thoughtful, asking great questions and anticipating potential needs to make sure he would be safe and comfy in her care. While watching him, he ended up feeling a bit better than he had been in previous days and not as groggy from his medications, so was not as calm as I thought he would be for her, but she still did a great job of making sure he stayed safe and did not re-injure his feet. She provided updates at reasonable intervals without me having to ask and was very kind the entire time, even with me not knowing exactly what time I would be able to pick him up. Thanks so much to Kathleen, I would definitely trust her to watch my boy again.”

About: Hello! I am a lifelong pet-sitter, new to the platform. After recently losing my elderly cocker spaniel, I am looking to return to caring for other people’s pets! I have experience with dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and hamsters, and live in a clean, pet-friendly home with a fenced yard and walking distance to three different parks. I am retired from healthcare, BLS certified, active, fun-loving and professional. I look forward to meeting your pet! I have an empty nest and am an active young retiree, so I am home all day except for trips to the park for exercise and the petstore for treats! I live in a pet-friendly home with a fenced yard for quick potty breaks, but prefer taking walks around one of the beautiful nearby parks if your dog is willing. I welcome all well-behaved dogs, crate-trained or not.
“Our sweet and shy Athena had a great time at Heather's for doggy daycare. We felt at ease knowing she was in good hands. We'd definitely bring her back again! Thanks Heather!”

“This was my dog Maeve's first time doing doggie daycare with Julie, Brian, and their dog Horatio, and she had a great time! They kept me updated during and gave me a full report afterward. I'll definitely be making this a regular thing!”

“Bailey had another great day with Alyssa & Ace. Alyssa is so patient with Bailey! We could not have found a better sitter to help us bring Bailey out of her shell. :-)”

“Mr James was a lifesaver today and extremely accommodating… I couldn’t ask for a most accommodating, loving plus kind person to take of my puppy today which was unexpected and in an emergency basis🤍 forever grateful!”

“Fabulous week for Juno our Alaskan Husky mix! She was so settled and happy with Denise and her Border Collie Frankie! Such peace of mind knowing Juno was in good hands and happy. Denise is a wonderful person. She understands dogs and she totally gets dog owners worries too. Would not hesitate to use her again!”

About: I am an absolute pet lover! Any time I see a dog, I stop and bond with it. We had a miniature poodle for over 17 years, who I miss daily. I have a special way with animals and shower them with love! I work from home, so I have flexibility! Because I create my own schedule, I can make sure to prioritize a pet’s needs and give them my full attention! I am very devoted to all animals I care for. They have my full attention and become my priority for the time I care for them.
“Marquita watched my puppy for a whole day and took such amazing care of her! Such a sweet person with a nice family! She also sent me great pictures and updates while I was out. I was so grateful to have a caring person to leave my very energetic little pup with. Marquita was an excellent communicator and I highly recommend her as a pet sitter!”

“I highly recommend Debora. She watched my puppy for a couple hours and upon my return my puppy was learning to “leave it” and to calm down when other dogs are near (she gets super excited). Debora was very nice, super knowledgeable and my puppy loved her the second they met. 10/10”

“Athena was AMAZING with my little Louis, he came back home and you could tell he had an awesome time with her. I’m glad I found a sitter to watch my floof, definitely will be using her again!”

“Jason was able to care for our 6 month old puppy, Teddy on short notice! We are so grateful to have found him. Teddy loves him, and came home a happy tired puppy. Thank you again!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
