“Absolutely wonderful!!! Our babies had a great time. Christina is very responsible and professional. We received picture updates throughout the day. Her place was very clean and safe. Will be back again. Thanks Christina”

“Marquita was excellent. My puppy had a great time. Marquita was communicative and sent photo updates of my puppy. I will definitely be using her as a dog sitter next time I am in the area.”

“Sydney was great, very accommodating as I was always running late and she would always say no problem. What I loved about her was that she would wear my Jobu out and that’s what I wanted. Jobu is a westie and so full of energy and it’s tough at time to find someone that will truly GIVE it their all to make it happen!! Thanks so much Sydney, the feedback and pics were really cute!!!”
“We are so so glad we found Alli! Our 1 year old Australian shepherd Harry has a lot of energy and can often be a handful. Alli is wonderful with him! She sends updates several times a day and is always keeping us in the loop. Her sweet dog Mack is the perfect playmate for Harry and insures that he comes home tired :) we know whenever Harry is with Alli he is in amazing hands.”

About: I’m an experienced pet sitter and lifelong animal lover who has cared for both dogs and cats for many friends, family members and neighbors over the years. I’m also a dog mom to two large breeds, a Golden Retriever and a Husky, so I’m very comfortable with big dogs, strong personalities and higher-energy breeds. I work from home, which means your pet will have plenty of company, attention and potty breaks throughout the day instead of being left alone for long stretches. I understand that every animal has their own personality, routine and comfort level, and I’m happy to follow the schedule and care instructions that help them feel most at home. I’m also comfortable caring for senior pets and animals who need medication or extra patience. One of my dogs has epilepsy, so I have experience giving daily medication, monitoring health needs and staying calm when a pet needs additional care. My three-bedroom home also gives me the flexibility to provide a separate, quiet space when needed, along with a white-noise machine to help pets settle in. Whether your pet wants walks, playtime, cuddles or space to decompress, I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I give my own. I work from home full-time, so pet care fits naturally into my everyday routine. I’m available throughout the day for regular potty breaks, meals, walks, playtime, medication and plenty of attention. My own dogs are already part of my daily schedule, so caring for an additional pet doesn’t feel like an interruption—it simply means one more animal to include in our routine. Because I’m home most of the day, pets won’t be left alone for long stretches. I can also adjust my schedule based on their normal routine, energy level and individual needs. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. In my home, I take introductions slowly and supervise interactions with my own dogs to make sure everyone feels comfortable. I have a three-bedroom home, so visiting pets can have their own quiet space if they need time to decompress, eat separately or simply relax away from the other animals. I also have a white-noise machine to help nervous pets settle in. I carefully follow each pet’s normal routine, feeding instructions, medication schedule and any household rules provided by their owner. I keep doors secure, monitor pets during outdoor time and never force interaction between animals. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their space with respect and make sure their pet receives consistent, attentive care in the environment where they feel most comfortable. I’m happy to provide updates and photos so owners can feel confident that their pet is safe, comfortable and well cared for.
“As someone knew to the city and state with a new puppy to boot along with another dog, I was nervous about last minute accommodations. I have found a second home for my Gertie! Coming from an apartment environment, she has a whole yard to run and play in and the hosts are exceptionally great and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend them to anyone. If there are more stars, I would give them to them. I am looking no more for anyone else. Trust me you will be happy and so will your babies.”

“Nancy took fantastic care of my sweet boy. She asked questions and made sure she had all the information she needed to give the best care. Loved the pictures she captured during his stay as well.”

“Enzo had a great day with Jennifer today. We will definitely continue with daycare when we need it! Thanks for taking good care of our sweet boy.”

About: Hi! I’m 28 years old, I’ve been happily caring for pets for 10+ years, I have some experience as a kennel technician at a veterinary hospital. I am home full time so I am always available. Something you and your fur babies will love about me is how attentive and kind I am. I will care for your babies as if they were my own so you can feel great about leaving them with me and knowing they will have a good time and they themselves will feel comfortable even while you’re away. I do not have any animals myself, however I do have children so your babies must get along with small children. I live in a friendly neighborhood and have a large fenced yard for lots of play time! I’m currently working part time and spend the rest of my time at home, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with and care for your fur babies. I live in a friendly neighborhood and have a big fenced yard for lots of play time! Also happy to go on walks or car rides anytime!

“Great experience! I felt safe and comfortable leaving my fur baby with Jennifer. She was very responsive and sent photos. Would definitely recommend and hire again!”

About: More fun than the owners :) I have a lunatic GSP. I have trained this beautiful animal and have a huge soft spot for my GSP Moab. I love working with dogs of all ages to make sure they are comfortable. I work full time from home but have gaps during the day and free on the weekends to help with your pet needs should the need arise. I always treat puppies like they are my own. They first have to trust me in their own space. Then the fun time can commence.
About: I have taken care of dogs (family, friends, coworkers, personal) for over 10 years. My lab-mix Cooper is extremely well behaved and loves making new friends! Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Largo
My full throttle doggo went to sleep as soon as she got in the car telling me she had a blast and a playmate to help expend some of her energy. His dog Rex was an adorable bundle of joyous energy when I picked up my girl. I have a Boston Terrier and Jonathan grew up with them so understood their personalities and how to care for them. He was also very personable and I would use him again.

We are so grateful to have found Marquita! Her welcoming and detailed profile initially drew us to her, and she exceeded all of our expectations. She was incredibly kind and patient with our dog’s timid nature, making Ozzy feel safe and comfortable right away. Marquita's kids are the sweetest and so clearly raised with a love and understanding of animals. I loved receiving her photo updates throughout the visit, and her flexibility made drop-off and pick-up completely stress-free. Ozzy came home happy and relaxed. Everything about Marquita and her home environment made any anxiety about leaving our boy disappear. I am super thankful we were lucky enough to connect with Marquita and I highly recommend booking with her!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Largo commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
