“You couldn't ask for a better sitter. This was the 1st time we used rover and our dog had never had a sitter. Shawn used his charm and probably patience to win Bernadette over. He also left our house spotless. An all round gentleman. Would hire him again in a nanotechnology second”
“Alyssa was available to take care of my boy at the last minute, and im not sure why she was available to book because she did an amazing job caring for my 75 pound siberian husky. She went above and beyond to ensure his needs were met and provided lots of photo updates to put my mind at rest that everything was going fine.”

“Hailee was amazing! She stayed at my apartment with my dog for 10 days while I was out of the country. She sent a ton of pictures and videos, and I came home to a happy dog & clean apartment!”

“Stephanie did an incredible job with our two golden retrievers. She sent me lots of pictures while we were gone and i could tell the dogs were having a great time. She left our house immaculate - it looked better than before we left! She was a pleasure to work with and we will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Taylor and Bruno were fantastic taking care of my cat Shadow. He was happy and well taken care of. Shadow gets stressed when I go away and usually winds up with a bladder infection but Taylor took such great care of him that he had no infection and was calm and stress free. I highly recommend them to watch your fur baby’s.”

About: I have taken care of dogs, cats and even exotics ever since I was a child. My major in college was Biology and my first job out of college was a Zoo Keeper. I then became a dolphin trainer working and training several types of dolphins, river otters and pelicans. The past two years I have been a Vet Technician working at a large animal hospital. Animals are my passion in life so any chance I get to be around them, I will! I am currently a full time student again and also working four days a week. Any free time I get I enjoy getting outside or relaxing. I am mainly free on week nights and some days depending on class schedule. I will not be watching pets in my own home due to having a cat myself that gets stressed around other animals in his own space. I will watch other's pets at their home and follow their instructions as given.

“Callie took care of my Lily and did an amazing job! She took her on walks on the beach, gave her a bath, and entertained her all weekend! She also provided pictures of my dog to keep me updated.”

“We’re so happy with Brooke taking care of our fur baby, Maggie Mae! She’s absolutely amazing for overnight stays—we trust her completely in our home, and everything is always just as we left it. On top of that, she’s gone above and beyond for us. While we were away, she graciously was willing to deal with roofers and show them exactly where the leak was—such a huge help! Also, Brooke is incredibly accommodating and understanding, especially when our travel plans shift due to airline delays or cancellations. She sends plenty of pictures (which we love, because we miss our Mags!) and is always super communicative, positive, and reliable. Highly, highly, highly recommend! We are thankful for her.”

“Stephanie did a great job taking care of our senior dog and our home while we were away. She provided updates and photos throughout her stay. I highly recommend Stephanie to take care of your fur baby and home.”

“Excellent excellent job watching my baby girl ?! she was very responsive. She gave lots of updates and she gave really beautiful pictures! I came home to a very clean house and my pup looking great! Thank you so much for everything! ?”

“Ava did such a fantastic job with my dogs. She was super attentive, she asked all the questions, and she really cared for them as if they were her own. She sent pictures the whole time i was away and updated me throughout the day. She was so great and I would absolutely have her watch them again! 🙌🏼”

“There are not enough words to describe how thankful we are to have found Caitlyn. We travel a lot for work but normally bring our dogs with us. They’re a part of our family and it’s hard to trust. We had an opportunity to work in Italy for 18 days and could not pass it up. It was so scary to leave our 3 dogs and be that far away but Caitlyn made it easy. She sent photos every single day and updated us constantly. There was even a hurricane while we were gone and she stayed with them through all of it. Our house was sparkling clean when we got back and our 3 dogs were so well cared for. She even replaced their dog food so we didn’t have to worry about it. You can truly tell she takes pride in her work and cares for home and the animals she’s working with. One of our dogs, Chloe was abused before we adopted her and takes a long time to trust. Caitlyn put the work in and by the time she left, Chloe was her best buddy. Book Caitlyn! You will not be disappointed.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is that I have two of my own cats. One is actually getting ready to give birth in 6 weeks. I know exactly what they need and how to take care of them especially since I’ve raised both from when they were kittens. I top of that I raised to of my family cats growing up as kittens as well. So I’m very educated and loving🥰 My availability is pretty open to whatever is needed from me. I’m available every day aside from Sundays:) just send me a message and we will confirm what is needed:) I scoop litter boxes everyday. Deep clean it 1-2 times a week. Frequency depends on how many cats you own because I’d do more than 2 times if it’s more than 2 cats and how many litter boxes is owned as well. Your cats will be in really good hands with me!
About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats ever since I’ve been 16 years old. I don’t have any animals of my own so helping take care of other people’s, animals means a lot. I make sure I send updates and everything that you would need. I work part time during the summer. I only work Tuesday Wednesday Thursday. I am free on the weekends. I am pretty much free to come help. Take care of your animals. In my client’s home I play with the dog take them on walks. Just make sure they’re safe. Typically, they have a fenced in backyard.
“Alexandra was a good communicator, punctual and above all kind and loving with my dogs. She sent lots of updates with photos and left the house clean. I will definitely hope to use her services again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Safety Harbor
We were new to Rover and had previously only had family or close friends look after our dogs when traveling. We ran into a last minute bind and needed to find someone to look after our dogs a day before we left. That’s when we were fortunate enough to get paired with Katie. From the first interaction, Katie was responsive, accommodating to our requests, and absolutely wonderful with our very co-dependent dogs. She sent us pictures and check-ins daily which truly exceeded my expectations. She took the best care of our pets while we were away and I’m truly grateful we met Katie. We will absolutely book with her in the future.

Jennifer took wonderful care of Angel and Sky while we were away for four nights. She was reliable, attentive, and gave us complete peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such good hands. We received updates, and it was clear that both dogs were happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. Angel and Sky absolutely loved her! We are so grateful for her kindness, professionalism, and dedication. We would highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.

Lillian was very good at communicating with pictures some days. This is one of the most important things to having someone in your home watching our Precious Fluffys . She let our Cockapoo snuggle in bed with her , that made Amber much more comfortable and lessened her missing us . She also made headway with our kitty , that is very shy . She got him to come to her for pets and snacks . This made us feel even better fir a more Peaceful vacation . Lillian is a delight , she also fed the squirrels in our yard and refreshed their water , which is so important during drought times . She also left our hone so clean, we almost couldn't tell she was here . Thank You Lillian for all of your help . We will hire her again .

Jace was fantastic! She did 2 short visits before our trip to get to know our 3 kitties, including one that was still in the integration process. One of our cats has a special diet as well. She was very responsive and sent my wife plenty of photos and videos. We can tell our cats liked her and we will book her for our upcoming out-of-town time when we go to a wedding. She went above and beyond and because of her study situation online, she was able to be at our home about 18-20 hours per day, which replicates our schedule working almost entirely from home. If you think to book her, do it. You will not regret your decision.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Safety Harbor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Safety Harbor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Safety Harbor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Safety Harbor. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
