“Our experience with Jesse was absolutely amazing! We’ve never had someone stay at our home with our fur baby before, so we were a little nervous at the beginning, but the moment I met Jesse, I felt 100% comfortable leaving Thor and our home in her hands. She offered to come over before we left to meet us and Thor, and to go over details of the stay. She sent pictures during our trip (which I loved!) and I could tell Thor was very happy to have her there. We are so thankful to have found Jesse, and will absolutely be using her in the future! I recommend Jesse 100% !”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! She was incredibly communicative from start to finish, sent frequent updates and adorable photos, and was always prompt and so sweet with our two cats. She truly went above and beyond what we asked- she even tidied up and washed a couple of dishes we had accidentally left in the sink before leaving, which was such a thoughtful surprise to come home to. We felt completely at ease knowing our cats were in such caring and responsible hands. We will absolutely be using her from now on and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who genuinely cares.”

“Michaela stayed in our home for several nights to take care of our dog while we were away. Michaela was very reliable, sent photos and videos, and did her best to keep our dog on her normal routine- we know she was well taken care of! Michaela was also very professional and patient when a few unexpected home issues came up. We wouldn't hesitate to hire Michaela again!”

“kyleigh house sat for a week while we travelled abroad, and when we came home our pup was acting totally normal and the home was spotless. she also sent us photo updates most days which helped us enjoy the travels without worrying about our doggo. highly recommend!!”

About: Pets have always been a part of my life and I adore them. I will take very good care of your pets as if they were my own. I am currently retired and am free during the day for walks and visits. I live in Pinellas County and can visit one time or several times depending on the need. I will be able to care for your pets in your home. I do have a dog and he does not get along with other dogs. I would be able to give your dog the attention he or she needs in your home.
“Great experience. Shannon was responsive and happy to do a meet and greet to get to know my little guy. Booking was easy and I got plenty of photos of their time together. My pup can be stressed out easily when I’m out of town, but he was relaxed as could be when I returned. Definitely recommended!”
“Kailynn stayed at my house to take care of my 3 pups. They're a lot of work, but she was fantastic! Kailynn sent pics on multiple days and left my home better than when she arrived. I wasn't expecting her to put my guest room back together (it doubles as my office, but I set it up for her to use as a bedroom when I left). She washed all the bedding and communicated really well the whole time (better than me!). I would definitely use her again.”

“Andi is a great pet sitter! She did a great job watching our GSP, Josh, who really liked her. I love how she sent us a few updates and photos every day and stayed in touch with us while we were away. She came to meet Josh before staying at our house with him and texted to confirm the appointment a day before which was great. Thank you, Andi!”

“A great overnight stay for my pups with Bre! She arrived on time, sent lots of photos and gave my pups lots of love while I was away. I'm so happy that Bre could help out and will use her again!”

“Kallie was absolutely incredible, my pup can be a little nervous sometimes & immediately was comfortable with her. She never failed to update me with photos and how the day was going. I will definitely be using her again ♥️”

“Hailee house sat with our dog who has separation anxiety. Meaning she couldn’t leave the house. Not ideal for sure. This is the first time we had used a house sitter and we were a bit nervous. Everything went perfectly! We are so thankful for Hailee and will definitely use her again. Thank-you Hailee 🐕”

“Courtney did a great job sitting with Shelby. I received several pictures and updates every day and Shelby enjoyed her time with Courtney. Came back to a clean house as well!”

“Marharyta was absoultoely wonderful with Bridget and Ziggy! I was so worried leaving Ziggy for the first time, especially with his separation anxiety, however, I could tell before I even left for vacation that he had already warmed up to her. She kept in constant contact, and I was able to see both Bridget and Ziggy happy and having fun. She watched them in our home, and our home was perfect when we came home. Awesome Awesome sitter!”

“Mr. Jason was absolutely amazing in taking care of my husky. He followed all my instructions and went above and beyond, taking my boy on walks down the trail. If you want someone who will be attentive to your dogs needs and provide them with all the love, cuddles, and attention, this is the sitter to book. I have booked several sitters before on this app, but I dont think my boy has ever loved and missed a sitter before. He definitely misses hanging out with mr Jason.”

About: I have had dogs in my home since the day I was born. My family owned, a Husky, Rottweilers, Boston terriers, and a Shitzu over the years. As an adult I have owned and cared for a Pitbull boxer mix for 8 years, cat sitted for a dear friend for over a year, and another friends small dog. Animals always warm up to me quickly and enjoy my attentive presence with them. I am currently not working, since I have an (older) dog at home it is important we get daily activity in! This usually includes a walk between 1-2 miles or an hour or so at the dog park. I have a fenced dog park at my apartment, along with 1 dog in the home. She is docile and very friendly, but not very playful. No stairs, and a lanai for the animals to lounge around.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Highpoint
First time using Rover for our pups and Paola was fantastic! We didn’t know exactly what to expect but she for sure exceeded expectations. Daily walks, continued check ins (on both dogs and with pics to us). Overall, 10/10 experience and would recommend her to anyway looking to leave there pups in good hands!

Michaela was absolutely amazing and took wonderful care of my dog and two cats! She sent photos and updates of all three every day, which gave me so much peace of mind. She was also incredibly respectful of my home and personal belongings. I would recommend her 10/10 and will definitely book with her again!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shannon did an amazing job taking care of our two dogs, Leo and Choco! This was our first time using Rover, and she made the entire experience stress-free. She was very communicative, sent us regular updates and photos, and followed all of our instructions carefully. She was incredibly patient with Leo, our Husky, who can be a little stubborn at times, and she handled everything with great care. We came home to two happy, relaxed dogs, and it was clear they were well looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Shannon again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!

Diane was amazing! We were in a bit of a jam because our former sitter quit after we had already purchased plane tickets. Diane found someone to watch her dog, so she could stay with our 3. She was here day and night, other than running errands. She sent pics and updates throughout the day and was very communicative. One of the dogs was having digestive issues, so Diane picked up chicken and rice at my request. She also made him some homemade bone broth because he wasn't drinking much water, and she didn't want him to get dehydrated. Our house was very clean when we returned. Diane went above and beyond for us and the pups, and we are so grateful! Highly recommend!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Highpoint walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Highpoint maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Highpoint choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
