“Ashley was absolutely amazing with my babies. My original boarding was fully booked so I was hesitant to use Rover, but she made me feel at ease. She provided lots of updates and photos - will definitely be using her again! :)”

“Joy and Casey were AWESOME!!! They took such great care of my babies! Joy sent me updates the entire time, including pics and videos! I was very nervous to leave my babies with “strangers” but they made it very comfortable for me, and the dogs clearly love them both!! I will for sure be using Joy again.”
About: I have been around dogs and pets my entire life and genuinely enjoy caring for animals of all ages and personalities. For the past four years, I have owned and cared for my French Bulldog, which has given me hands-on experience with daily care routines, attention to health needs, exercise, feeding schedules, and providing a loving, safe environment. In addition to caring for my own dog, I have frequently pet sat for friends and family members, giving me experience with different breeds, temperaments, and care styles. What sets me apart is my reliability, patience, and ability to make pets feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. I understand the importance of communication, consistency, and treating every pet like family. I am also attentive to the needs of both younger pets who require energy and structure, as well as senior dogs who may need extra patience, gentleness, and routine-focused care. I am retired and able to pet sit on almost any day of the week during daylight hours. I am open to walks throughout the day and overnight sitting in the right situation. I have a condo and regularly take my dog on walks throughout the complex. I walk her around the lake. She enjoys being outside and interacting with other dogs.
“Zach has consistently done well watching Murphy and caring for the house while we’re gone. Little man is always in a good mood when we return and we see how well he gets along with him.”

About: I really treat every pet like they’re my own. I take the time to get to know their routines, what makes them feel safe, and what brings them joy—whether that’s a long walk, playtime, or just some quiet company. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands. I also recently raised and trained a puppy in the last 4 years. I am pretty flexible for the most part! I work a remote job so its easy for me to be here and there. Just really depends on your needs. It really just depends on what the owner prefers! I am all about sticking to routine to keep the pups happy and relaxed. I follow instructions very closely.

About: We had a family dog for 5 years as older child to early teen. We have had our own family dog, three different ones, for our three children over the past 28 years and currently. Have taken care of neighbors dogs sometimes over the years. I'm currently working full-time but available for boarding on weekends beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday nights through 8:00 p.m. on Sunday nights. I am in a smaller side by side two units apartment with a fenced in backyard and screened in porch. I am very short walking distance walking to the upper Tampa Bay trail.

About: I tested myself with my first dog at age 12, now with both sisters starting to become seniors, I have had experience with all age groups of dogs and cats. On top of that I have pet sat many dogs including 7 bull dogs at a time, which required much attention due to their high maintenance nature. I would mainly be doing this in the mornings and afternoons, as I have part time job and a student. But I am open to some weekends. I make sure my dog is walked on a daily basis both day and night making sure she lets everything out before going in, I also stay on top of feeding and taking care of her.
“Could not have asked for more from Patrick! He was extremely easy to work with and did a fantastic job watching my dog Koda for 8 nights. He sent frequent updates with pictures, videos and even went above and beyond to give Koda a bath. He was very responsive and made me feel so at ease. I will definitely book with him again!”

About: As a lifelong dog lover and owner for 10 years, I’m now embarking on a new chapter after 24 wonderful years in Chicago. Following a long career in advertising sales, I’m seeking a slower-paced, more fulfilling path — one that lets me combine my reliability with my love for animals. At 49, I bring maturity, responsibility, and genuine care to every pup I watch, ensuring your they are looked after as if they were my own. Also, the doodle you see in some pics is my amazingly chill, gets along with every living thing, sidekick Lambeau. So please note your dog(s) must be okay with other dogs. I'm currently taking some time off and won't be going back to remote work until the fall '26, at the earliest. So I'm very flexible with my time at the moment. I live in an apartment complex (2 bed / 2 bath) with a huge unfenced grassy area off my lanai, that Lambeau and I call our own backyard. I also live across the street from John Chesnut park, in the Tarpon Woods area so Lambeau and I spend lots of time at that huge dog park and/or exploring the various trails. So if you're open to that as well, I'll gladly take your pup(s) over there for some adventures.
“We were so lucky to end up with Shelby as a sitter. She was extremely communicative and prompt with her visits, and gave extra care and attention to our pets. Highly recommended!!”

“Rumi did an amazing job watching all 5 (!) of my pets, two cats and three large dogs. No easy task! She even got my defensive Shepard to calm down and accept her enough to get a belly rub, which is a rare occasion. I’m extremely grateful for everything she did and will absolutely be booking her for future trips.”

“Mariana was an absolute gem! She cared for our two dogs in-home and immediately made them feel comfortable with her warm, friendly, and loving energy. She kept us updated with adorable photo check-ins and her communication was always clear and prompt. Our pups were happy and relaxed when we returned—it’s clear she treated them like her own. I’ll definitely be booking her again!!”

About: What sets me apart from others is my genuine love, patience, and personal attention for every pet I care for, along with my reliability, strong communication, and dedication to making each pet feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. But when I get home every day I have my own dog to take care of. that I love and care for so much and I just want him to live the best life he possibly can. I care for pets by following their routines, providing food, water, playtime, walks, and affection while keeping their environment clean, safe, and stress-free at all times when I am around.
“Lydia and Emmitt watched our dog Luna for almost 2 weeks and we couldn't have been happier. We received lots and lots of pictures and updates which we loved 💜 and they really went above and beyond not only pampering our pup but also leaving the house in better and cleaner condition than before. In addition they left us the sweetest note and our dog looked entirely happy and relaxed when we returned.”

“You couldn't ask for a better sitter. This was the 1st time we used rover and our dog had never had a sitter. Shawn used his charm and probably patience to win Bernadette over. He also left our house spotless. An all round gentleman. Would hire him again in a nanotechnology second”
“Michele was great!! She was able to help us out on very short notice. Our pup becomes very anxious when we leave and she was very understanding about his anxiety. We felt very comfortable leaving him and our home in Michele's care.”

The boys really love Jasmin! They did really well w/ a meet and greet, and immediately took to her. For the overnight stay, she was a great communicator with the updates and pictures. My boys, who are normally hesitant about strangers, had fun with her, and get excited when I say her name. Look forward to booking Jasmin again, as she’s a very kind, sweet and responsible person. She eases the anxiety of leaving your babies overnight.

This was our first time booking with Rover and with Kristy. We booked her for over a week of overnight stays and she was incredibly compassionate and kind to our very shy & timid cat. We felt very secure being out of town knowing Kristy was at the house taking caring of it and our cat as if it was here own. Highly recommend.

This was our second time having Rylie look after our two greyhounds and once again she did a great job. The dogs clearly love her and she takes exceptional care of them. We also came home to a clean home and she had even washed the bed sheets and towels and put the new sheets on the bed ready for us to collapse into as soon as we got home! We very much appreciate the great care Rylie takes of our dogs and home and look forward to booking her again in the future!

Christine is always great with Cole - She did a great job with staying overnight with him. It was the first time we have left him since we adopted him. I was not worried at all while we were away and appreciate all Christine did to take the best care of our sweet Cole.

I had an unexpected emergency and had to fly out of town at the last minute, and she truly came to the rescue. She was incredibly attentive to my dog, Charlie, and kept me updated the entire time. It was clear he was comfortable and having fun while she was with him. I came home to a happy, relaxed puppy, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her help during a stressful situation. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!

AnneMarie & Elyse did an excellent job! This was my first time to use Rover and have someone house sit and they put my mind at ease from the start. AnneMarie went above and beyond the call of duty. My dog and house were found in excellent condition upon my return home. I would definitely use them again if they were not returning to school.

FAQs for House Sitting - Westchase
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Westchase on Rover is $47.39 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 4,258 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Westchase. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westchase walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westchase maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westchase choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westchase. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
