“Ashley was absolutely amazing with my babies. My original boarding was fully booked so I was hesitant to use Rover, but she made me feel at ease. She provided lots of updates and photos - will definitely be using her again! :)”

“Lucas did a great job caring for our lab. He engages well with the dog and seems to genuinely like caring for him. He was very respectful of our home and communicates well. Lucas is very responsible and trustworthy. Highly recommend him!!!”
“Stephanie was amazing with my pups. She sent me photos and stayed in communication with me the entire time. She was even sweet enough to leave them an extra toy! My dogs loved her!”

About: Hi! I'm Sharon, and caring for dogs has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I'm retired, so I have a very flexible schedule and can give your dog the time, attention, and companionship they deserve while you're away. Whether your pup needs a walk, a potty break, playtime, or simply someone patient and loving to keep them company, I'll care for them as if they were my own. I've spent my entire life around animals and have been the proud owner of a sweet French Bulldog for the past four years. I also regularly care for dogs belonging to friends and family, giving me experience with many different breeds and personalities. I know leaving your dog with someone else can be stressful. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind by providing dependable care, lots of communication, photo updates, and plenty of love and attention. I especially enjoy caring for small and medium-sized dogs that are friendly and under 40 pounds. Because I'm retired, I'm available most weekdays and weekends, and I can often accommodate last-minute requests. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your best friend! I am retired and able to pet sit on almost any day of the week during daylight hours. I am open to walks throughout the day and overnight sitting in the right situation. I have a condo and regularly take my dog on walks throughout the complex. I walk her around the lake. She enjoys being outside and interacting with other dogs.

About: We had a family dog for 5 years as older child to early teen. We have had our own family dog, three different ones, for our three children over the past 28 years and currently. Have taken care of neighbors dogs sometimes over the years. I'm currently working full-time but available for boarding on weekends beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday nights through 8:00 p.m. on Sunday nights. I am in a smaller side by side two units apartment with a fenced in backyard and screened in porch. I am very short walking distance walking to the upper Tampa Bay trail.
“There are not enough words to describe how thankful we are to have found Caitlyn. We travel a lot for work but normally bring our dogs with us. They’re a part of our family and it’s hard to trust. We had an opportunity to work in Italy for 18 days and could not pass it up. It was so scary to leave our 3 dogs and be that far away but Caitlyn made it easy. She sent photos every single day and updated us constantly. There was even a hurricane while we were gone and she stayed with them through all of it. Our house was sparkling clean when we got back and our 3 dogs were so well cared for. She even replaced their dog food so we didn’t have to worry about it. You can truly tell she takes pride in her work and cares for home and the animals she’s working with. One of our dogs, Chloe was abused before we adopted her and takes a long time to trust. Caitlyn put the work in and by the time she left, Chloe was her best buddy. Book Caitlyn! You will not be disappointed.”

“David was great with my dogs and cat while I was away for a few days on vacation! Treated the dogs as if they were his own. He even cleaned up before he left! 10/10 would recommend and would book him again in the future. You can tell he really loves the animals!”

“Joy is an amazing human being. She loved my furbaby and did a house sit in for a week while I was away on a vacation. She's very caring and considerate about all the little quirks and needs of a pet. She was very proactive with the updates, she had video calls to help me talk to my pet. She kept my house spotless, I would 100% recommend her to anyone and hope that she is able to care for my pupper again.”

“You couldn't ask for a better sitter. This was the 1st time we used rover and our dog had never had a sitter. Shawn used his charm and probably patience to win Bernadette over. He also left our house spotless. An all round gentleman. Would hire him again in a nanotechnology second”

“Wow amazing! Amazing communication and even came by for a meet and greet with such short notice. One of our pups had some tummy troubles and she kept us updated the entire time and even made a vet visit on our behalf. The whole process she made a breeze. We will for sure be using again. She loves dogs.. it radiates off her!! Our boys seemed so so happy and we felt comfortable having her stay in our home.”

Jasmine was a delight to work with. She is responsible, reliable, and intentional in everything she does. I especially appreciated that she asked thoughtful questions to make sure everything was in order before I left. She arrived early and took amazing care of my dog, Tucker. Each day, she sent me a special photo from their walks or playtime, which gave me great peace of mind. She also did a wonderful job caring for my chickens and watering my plants When I returned home, everything was spotless and in perfect order. I highly recommend Jasmine and would gladly trust her with my home and pets again!

Victoria was fantastic! Stayed over on a holiday weekend and was great at staying in contact, sending pictures, and taking care of my babies! One of my dogs is a bit more high maintenance and she handled her wonderfully. I would definitely recommend Victoria and we will be contacting her again for future trips!

Rylie looked after our two dogs over the 4th of July weekend. Between the fireworks and the constant thunderstorms they were two very anxious dogs, but Rylie took great care of them. We really appreciate how well she takes care of them - we never have to worry anytime we go away ❤️

This was our first time booking with Rover and with Kristy. We booked her for over a week of overnight stays and she was incredibly compassionate and kind to our very shy & timid cat. We felt very secure being out of town knowing Kristy was at the house taking caring of it and our cat as if it was here own. Highly recommend.

Christine is always great with Cole - She did a great job with staying overnight with him. It was the first time we have left him since we adopted him. I was not worried at all while we were away and appreciate all Christine did to take the best care of our sweet Cole.

I had an unexpected emergency and had to fly out of town at the last minute, and she truly came to the rescue. She was incredibly attentive to my dog, Charlie, and kept me updated the entire time. It was clear he was comfortable and having fun while she was with him. I came home to a happy, relaxed puppy, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her help during a stressful situation. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!

AnneMarie & Elyse did an excellent job! This was my first time to use Rover and have someone house sit and they put my mind at ease from the start. AnneMarie went above and beyond the call of duty. My dog and house were found in excellent condition upon my return home. I would definitely use them again if they were not returning to school.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Westchase on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,300 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Westchase. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westchase walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westchase maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westchase choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westchase. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
