“Laura was absolutely fantastic! We had never left our dog before and were pretty nervous since she’s a rescue and can be shy. Laura was amazing! She won Lilly over quickly and kept us updated the whole time with lots of messages and photos. We felt so at ease knowing our dog was in such good hands. We would book with her again in a heartbeat! Truly so thankful for her and highly recommend her!!”

“Susanne is such a blessing! She was able to house sit with our 3 pups in a last minute time of need. We appreciate her very much! She is professional & respectful to say the least! 110% recommend!”

“Jill did a great job with our little princesses as they can be a little “needy”. She arrived when she said she would and provided the ideal level of communication with pictures during her stay. Even left the house cleaner than when she arrived.”

About: We are located on 5 acres fully fenced in Land O' Lakes. It's like have a full doggie park out the front door. We love it!! We have been watching dogs for friends and family for years. The kids love playing with dogs. Any medication your pet(s) may need we will handle. Any special toys or beds are welcomed (and encouraged) to be brought, along with food/water bowls. We want your furry family member to feel right at home. If the furry family member needs special attention with anything we will accommodate those needs. When you are on vacation, your furry family member will be on their own little vacation in a home away from home. We look forward to meeting you and your furry family member. We love all dogs! Pet care is our everyday life. We are up between 5:30 and 6am. The larger dogs get a 1.5 to 3 mile walk every morning. The smaller and older dogs get a walk to more suit their individual needs. After the morning walk its breakfast time with one more short out before we are off to work. The pups get an afternoon walk along with a longer evening walk before dinner. Then shortly before bedtime we go outside one more time. This is normal day, but will be modified around the pups needs and our schedule. All pups are treated as they are part of our family while in our care. They get loved, pets and playtime. We allow all pups on the sofa and bed (unless asked by the owner not too).
“Laura went way above and beyond my expectations! She went on numerous long walks with my dog Jane and I could tell they really connected. Laura is responsible and was super flexible with me as I had to extend my trip a few days. I will be using her again!”

“Ashley is truly amazing with Ares! She not only arrives on time, but immediately jumps into caring for him — taking him on multiple walks, heading to the dog park first in the morning, play time, and keeps up with his scheduled routine. She also sends me multiple videos and photos throughout the day with important updates. We absolutely love having her watch our puppy!🩵”

“Sarah was punctual, kept me informed with multiple updates, and meticulously maintained our puppy’s schedule. She kept me informed throughout the day by sending multiple photos of my puppy throughout the day. We have absolutely no complaints and are so grateful for the level of care and attention she provided. 🩵🐾”

“Jayla was great from the start. She was very communicative through the app when setting up our first meet and greet and continued after booking. We have two dogs and they were very comfortable with her. Jayla sent pictures and updates during her stay. She was also a great guest in our home and left the house better than we left it. I recommend Jayla and will be using her again!”

“Victoria was wonderful with Ludo. She was quick to respond and had great communication throughout, along with sending a picture update. She followed his care instructions and asked questions to clarify his puppy routine. I would be happy to book with her again and I would recommend her to anyone seeking care for their pet.”

About: Hi - I'm Madeline! I'm an experienced pet sitter in the Tampa Bay area and I would love to care for your family. As a pet mom myself, I understand the importance of having responsible, patient, and loving care for your pets when you have to be away from them. I have more than a decade of experience caring for dogs and cats (and even an opossum!) in their own home. I am comfortable caring for animals with a wide variety of needs. Do you have a diabetic dog who requires shots? I can handle that. Is your cat a serial puker who requires a special diet? Mine too. I would love the opportunity to care for your pets and your home. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine. I have open availability for drop-in visits and overnight sitting. I have several established clients, but those visits are scheduled in advance and are often easily managed alongside new bookings. Because I have cats of my own, I care for pets in their own homes. Rest assured, mine are cared for when I'm away, so I can focus solely on your pet and their needs. For overnight/house sitting bookings, I require a "Get to Know You" visit in your home at least 48 hours prior to the start of your first booking to ensure that we're a good fit for each other.
“Charlotte was amazing while staying with our beagles for 5 days. She sent updates and photos everyday and was very quick to reply. She seemed to care a lot about the happiness of the pup. We can’t wait to use her again!”

“Carrie was so great house sitting for our family. She sent twice daily updates and pictures. She seemed to genuinely enjoy the time she spent with our animals and the house was exactly as we left it. Everyone was in good spirits when we returned. Very happy with her service.”

“Naomi was great. Our foster is rather shy and he took to her right away. She was extremely flexible and we can be back to a really clean home. We will definitely be rebooking again with her. Thank you!”

“Rhoda did such an amazing job taking care of my baby! She was very communicative, sent lots of pictures, and really gave me peace of mind while traveling. She also kept my place very clean and was a great house sitter. I highly recommend Rhoda!!”

About: Hi my name is Mariana! I’m a college student and I’ve always loved dogs, unfortunately, I didn’t grow up with one, however, that only made my heart fonder of them. I have experience with taking care of my friend’s dog while he went to Bolivia for a week in my home as well as taking care of my boyfriend‘s family dogs (5) for two weeks while dropping by 3 to 4 times a day. I’m excited to bring love and care to your home, while also staying professional and attentive! I’m currently taking summer classes and they’re both online so I have a very flexible schedule for any pet care over the summer. I care for pets in my clients home by staying attentive and professional while also providing a level of care and affection. I also have respect for my clients home and their belongings.
About: I grew up in Maine on the lake with 7 dogs, my family was very pet welcoming and gave them all a great life. We had acres of land up there and I was always the one running around with them and going crazy on walks for the most part. Lots of adventures. And as time went on and my parents became busier, I was always helping out making sure they were fed, bathed if needed, walked, bathroom breaks, and medication etc. now I live in Florida and don’t get to see them very often. I just love animals! Haha I work from home in sales, so I have location and time freedom. So I can fix my insurance schedule around household and pet needs I grew up with dogs and love animals. Active, reliable, and attentive, I’ll keep your pet happy, plenty of exercise, safe, and well. They’re welcome to sleep on my bed / couch.
“The best rover we've ever had. Definitely planning vacations around Emma's schedule in the future. Loved the pics, videos and just really made us feel like our animals were in great hands.”

“Giulia did a great job taking care of our pups and kept me updated throughout the stay, which I really appreciated. I felt comfortable knowing our dog were in good hands, and I would definitely use her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lutz
Lindsay did a great job house sitting over the weekend with our 3 pups. She kept them on their schedules. She spent time cuddling and exercising with them. We came home to happy relaxed pups and the house was as clean as we left it! We highly recommend Lindsay!

Where has Laura been all our lives!! She is by far our absolute favorite person to house sit and stay with our Greyhound and German Shepherd. They both fell in love with her right away. She gave 3 updates every day with plenty wonderful pictures. Our dogs were smiling from ear to ear in everyone of them. She left the house in the exact way we left it in. From kitchen to bath and guest room, tip top! I'd give 6 stars 🌟 if I could!! Thank you!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Lutz
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Lutz on Rover is $41.12 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 4,172 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lutz. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lutz walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lutz maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lutz choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lutz. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
