“Jill was excellent with Peanut & Biscuit. She constantly kept in touch with us throughout our weekend away with texts and pictures. Thank you Jill for taking care of our babies!!”

“Laura was absolutely fantastic! We had never left our dog before and were pretty nervous since she’s a rescue and can be shy. Laura was amazing! She won Lilly over quickly and kept us updated the whole time with lots of messages and photos. We felt so at ease knowing our dog was in such good hands. We would book with her again in a heartbeat! Truly so thankful for her and highly recommend her!!”

“Jordan did an outstanding job with our furries. She was very punctual, she communicated very well and made sure that our 4 dogs were well cared for and loved while we were away. I would definitely recommend Jordan, and we will be reaching out to her for all of our future trips.”

“Isabella did a great job taking care of my two dogs and my home while we were on vacation for a week. My dogs were happy when we got home. Isabella made sure the house looked great too! I would recommend her without hesitation!”

About: I am currently a Dog Trainer at Petco! I have a strong passion for animals and approach pet care with love. I’ve cared for dogs of almost all breeds, sizes, and temperaments throughout the course of my life. Whether it’s maintaining their routine, going on walks, providing playtime/mental stimulation, or simply offering companionship, I treat every dog as if they were my own. Through caring for my own 14 year old girl, I know how to be attentive to special instructions like dietary needs or medications. While they're away, I make sure pet parents feel at ease by providing regular updates and photos. My goal is to create a stress-free, loving environment where dogs feel secure and well cared for. I work part time as a Dog Trainer for Petco Sunday, Thursday, and Saturday. Those days are blocked off, but I am completely free to help you with your doggo the rest of the week at any time! I will care for your dog the way I care for mine - with the highest sense of responsibility and accountability. I understand that these animals depend on me for sustenance, exercise, stimulation, and affection. That is why I follow instructions diligently and always work with passion.
“Stephanie was great. We have a very anxious dog and he doesn’t warm up to many. Stephanie and Frankie were friends in no time. She made us at ease with multiple updates during the night. We were very comfortable with her and will definitely use her again when Frankie is back in Florida.”

“Soraya was absolutely wonderful! She took amazing care of Lady. She sent detailed updates, photos and videos. I could tell from her videos she was showing Lady all the love and attention. Lady absolutely loves her! I’m grateful to have found someone to take care of my baby like she would her own! Soraya was super communicative, professional and prompt. I would definitely recommend her!”

About: We are located on 5 acres fully fenced in Land O' Lakes. It's like have a full doggie park out the front door. We love it!! We have been watching dogs for friends and family for years. The kids love playing with dogs. Any medication your pet(s) may need we will handle. Any special toys or beds are welcomed (and encouraged) to be brought, along with food/water bowls. We want your furry family member to feel right at home. If the furry family member needs special attention with anything we will accommodate those needs. When you are on vacation, your furry family member will be on their own little vacation in a home away from home. We look forward to meeting you and your furry family member. We love all dogs! Pet care is our everyday life. We are up between 5:30 and 6am. The larger dogs get a 1.5 to 3 mile walk every morning. The smaller and older dogs get a walk to more suit their individual needs. After the morning walk its breakfast time with one more short out before we are off to work. The pups get an afternoon walk along with a longer evening walk before dinner. Then shortly before bedtime we go outside one more time. This is normal day, but will be modified around the pups needs and our schedule. All pups are treated as they are part of our family while in our care. They get loved, pets and playtime. We allow all pups on the sofa and bed (unless asked by the owner not too).
About: Pet Care Experience I’ve been a dog owner and animal lover since I was a child, giving me a lifelong passion for caring for pets. I have hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, including senior dogs who require extra patience, attention, and gentle care. I am also comfortable administering medications and following specific care instructions to ensure your pet stays healthy and safe. What Sets Me Apart What makes me different is my genuine love and dedication to every pet I care for. I treat each animal like family, paying close attention to their unique needs, routines, and personalities. Whether it’s providing extra comfort to senior dogs or ensuring medications are given properly, I focus on dependable, compassionate care you can trust. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. As a mom to a 2-month-old and a part-time student studying to become a medical assistant, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to plan my day around both my responsibilities and the pets I care for. I’m already used to maintaining a consistent routine, which helps me stay organized and dependable for feedings, walks, playtime, and medication schedules. Caring for pets blends seamlessly into my week, and I make sure each pet gets the attention, love, and reliability they deserve. I care for pets in your own home by keeping their routine as consistent as possible to help them feel safe and comfortable. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and can administer medications when needed, always making sure pets are comfortable and well cared for. I stay attentive to any changes in behavior or health and keep you updated for peace of mind while you’re away.
“Wow amazing! Amazing communication and even came by for a meet and greet with such short notice. One of our pups had some tummy troubles and she kept us updated the entire time and even made a vet visit on our behalf. The whole process she made a breeze. We will for sure be using again. She loves dogs.. it radiates off her!! Our boys seemed so so happy and we felt comfortable having her stay in our home.”

“Laura was excellent with our two dogs! She is pleasant, conscientious, genuinely cares about our dogs. They fell in love with her the first time they saw her! We will be using her in the future whenever we need someone. Thanks again Laura!”

About: We had a family dog for 5 years as older child to early teen. We have had our own family dog, three different ones, for our three children over the past 28 years and currently. Have taken care of neighbors dogs sometimes over the years. I'm currently working full-time but available for boarding on weekends beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday nights through 8:00 p.m. on Sunday nights. I am in a smaller side by side two units apartment with a fenced in backyard and screened in porch. I am very short walking distance walking to the upper Tampa Bay trail.
“This is 2nd time with Carrie. She is an amazing with our two dogs: one is a older dog, the old a younger very high energy dog. The house is always in perfect condition. We LOVE HER 💕 Highly recommend!”

“Naomi was great. Our foster is rather shy and he took to her right away. She was extremely flexible and we can be back to a really clean home. We will definitely be rebooking again with her. Thank you!”

“She did an amazing job watching over our two cats and house sitting for us while we were gone for the weekend. She sent photos and kept up updated & the house is in great shape. Thanks so much! Looking forward to rebooking soon.”

About: For the past four years, I've cared for dogs, cats, birds, and fish, including pets that require medication, overnight stays, or a little extra love and attention. I enjoy spending time with animals and helping families feel confident that their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while they're away. As the proud pet parent of a Black Lab and a new kitten, I understand that our pets are family. I treat every pet as if they were my own, providing plenty of love, care, and attention every step of the way. I work Monday through Friday as a teacher in Wesley Chapel, but my weekends are mostly free. I am available to drop in before and after work times typically around 7am and after 4:30pm to help with any drop in or over night needs. I currently provide care exclusively in my clients' homes through drop-in visits and overnight stays. I believe pets are happiest in their familiar environment, where they can maintain their normal routine. During each visit, I make sure they have fresh food and water, plenty of potty breaks or litter box care, exercise, playtime, and, of course, lots of love and attention. I also follow any specific instructions, including administering medications if needed, so your pet receives the personalized care they're used to.
“Denise was excellent taking care of my dog, Kent. She went above and beyond for me to ensure peace of mind while I was away. Her communication on how my dog is doing was great. Kent was excited to see her every time she came. Definitely be repeating business with Denise.”

Sarah stayed with my dog for 11 days in my home. She is a lovely person and a wonderful caretaker!. My dog was happy and serene when I got home and my house was immaculate. I hope Sarah is available the next time I go away - in fact, I may plan my travel around her availability!

Jill has stayed with our boys a few times now and we look forward to her staying again! She is responsive, kind and often goes the extra mile. We were nervous to have to find someone new to take care of our boys after using our previous sitter for so many years, but Jill has been absolutely wonderful! We are thankful for her and will certainly continue inviting her for future stays!

Crystal was an absolutely wonderful housesitter and dogsitter! She took great care of our senior dog and our home, and was also great about communicating and providing updates (and we loved that she sent plenty of cute photos and videos too). We highly recommend her!

I have complete confidence in Sami’s care for my kitty. 😄 She needs meds & Sami kept a chart to assure that the meds were given as prescribed. Set that aside, Sami loved on my kitty as much as I do & kept her in her regular routine. I definitely would recommend Sami as a true professional pet sitter. 👍

Mary is fantastic! It’s the 2nd time we book her to sit our dogs and we’ve had a wonderful experience both times. She’s proactive and if she thinks there’s anything she can do to better handle our dogs, she will ask questions and make it happen. She loves our babies and we love her!

Andrew is phenomenal and I’ll happily be requesting his service again soon :) he completed an in home stay with my pup and I know they took great care of him. He was incredibly flexible with my scheduled as well as Milo’s. Happy to have met Andrew and had great vibes on out meet and greet too!

We could not be more happy with having Nicole house/dog sit. From the moment we met to her leaving the house we had no worries about our pups being in good hands. Our pups are older (12.5 & 15.5 yrs old) and though they are for the most part very chill, they do require a lot of attention. Our little girl has three different medications she is on daily, and have to be given at specific times of day. She is also incontinent and has to be let out to pee every 2-3 hours to avoid accidents. They food is Farmer's Dog and the list could go on of important things that need to be tended to daily. Nicole had no problem at all with any of this. We were able to have a nice vacation away on the beach without a worry. Nicole sent updates with photos and even asked questions to make sure she understood my notes accurately. This was her first time staying with them and the house was spotless when we got back, with a youtube channel on our tv playing beautiful music. The dogs were very happy and I am pretty sure they miss her already!! Highly recommend Nicole (Eunice) !! Hope to have her back soon!! Very grateful-- thank you so much Nicole!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Cheval on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,253 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cheval. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cheval walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cheval maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cheval choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cheval. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
