“Jill was fantastic! My dogs were very relaxed around her, so that gave me peace of mind. She kept me updated every day and I could see the kids were having a good time. Thank you, Jill!”

“Ashley was absolutely amazing with my babies. My original boarding was fully booked so I was hesitant to use Rover, but she made me feel at ease. She provided lots of updates and photos - will definitely be using her again! :)”

About: We are located on 5 acres fully fenced in Land O' Lakes. It's like have a full doggie park out the front door. We love it!! We have been watching dogs for friends and family for years. The kids love playing with dogs. Any medication your pet(s) may need we will handle. Any special toys or beds are welcomed (and encouraged) to be brought, along with food/water bowls. We want your furry family member to feel right at home. If the furry family member needs special attention with anything we will accommodate those needs. When you are on vacation, your furry family member will be on their own little vacation in a home away from home. We look forward to meeting you and your furry family member. We love all dogs! Pet care is our everyday life. We are up between 5:30 and 6am. The larger dogs get a 1.5 to 3 mile walk every morning. The smaller and older dogs get a walk to more suit their individual needs. After the morning walk its breakfast time with one more short out before we are off to work. The pups get an afternoon walk along with a longer evening walk before dinner. Then shortly before bedtime we go outside one more time. This is normal day, but will be modified around the pups needs and our schedule. All pups are treated as they are part of our family while in our care. They get loved, pets and playtime. We allow all pups on the sofa and bed (unless asked by the owner not too).
“Keyla was wonderful with my golden retriever Freja. She let me know when she was there and took pictures to show how happy Freja was with her. When I got home Freja was happy as can be and not stressed that I had been gone for the weekend.”

About: We had a family dog for 5 years as older child to early teen. We have had our own family dog, three different ones, for our three children over the past 28 years and currently. Have taken care of neighbors dogs sometimes over the years. I'm currently working full-time but available for boarding on weekends beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday nights through 8:00 p.m. on Sunday nights. I am in a smaller side by side two units apartment with a fenced in backyard and screened in porch. I am very short walking distance walking to the upper Tampa Bay trail.
“Laura was absolutely fantastic! We had never left our dog before and were pretty nervous since she’s a rescue and can be shy. Laura was amazing! She won Lilly over quickly and kept us updated the whole time with lots of messages and photos. We felt so at ease knowing our dog was in such good hands. We would book with her again in a heartbeat! Truly so thankful for her and highly recommend her!!”

“I wish I could book Rylie every time we traveled. Are pets are so loved and cared for and we came home to a picked up house, mail brought in, a cleaned out litter box, and happy kitties and a puppy. She sends great updates/pics, and truly has my animals best interest at heart. This is our 2nd time booking her and would 100% use her again.”

“Stephanie was amazing with my pups. She sent me photos and stayed in communication with me the entire time. She was even sweet enough to leave them an extra toy! My dogs loved her!”

“Could not have asked for more from Patrick! He was extremely easy to work with and did a fantastic job watching my dog Koda for 8 nights. “I can’t even begin to explain how amazing Rico was during our 2 weeks away from our beloved pup. I’ve read reviews saying “my dog might like Rico more than me” and I agree😂 Our dog definitely built a strong bond with Rico. He would send updates, report cards, and pics/videos DAILY! He didn’t just dog sit but he spent time training, nurturing and caring for our boy. He was very thorough and even asked questions that I didn’t think of! Very trustworthy, reliable and professional. 100/10 recommend (but beware your dog may not want you to come back😂) !! Signing up for training sessions ASAP. He’s awesome!”

Jill has stayed with our boys a few times now and we look forward to her staying again! She is responsive, kind and often goes the extra mile. We were nervous to have to find someone new to take care of our boys after using our previous sitter for so many years, but Jill has been absolutely wonderful! We are thankful for her and will certainly continue inviting her for future stays!

Crystal was an absolutely wonderful housesitter and dogsitter! She took great care of our senior dog and our home, and was also great about communicating and providing updates (and we loved that she sent plenty of cute photos and videos too). We highly recommend her!

We hired Madie for a trip that another person canceled on us last minute. We needed a house/pet sitter. It was very stressful but Madie came in, did a great job with our pets and was very respectful to our home. Would hire her again in a heartbeat!! She gave us updates and pictures multiple times per day.
I have complete confidence in Sami’s care for my kitty. 😄 She needs meds & Sami kept a chart to assure that the meds were given as prescribed. Set that aside, Sami loved on my kitty as much as I do & kept her in her regular routine. I definitely would recommend Sami as a true professional pet sitter. 👍

Mary is fantastic! It’s the 2nd time we book her to sit our dogs and we’ve had a wonderful experience both times. She’s proactive and if she thinks there’s anything she can do to better handle our dogs, she will ask questions and make it happen. She loves our babies and we love her!

Trace gave Pretty Kitty all the love & attention she craves. I was very pleased with her attention to specific instructions: meds & routines. I received daily photos of PK showing how content she was. Trace also gave thoughtful care to my home. I will definitely like to use Trace again!🐾

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Greater Northdale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Greater Northdale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Greater Northdale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
