My life has always been deeply intertwined with animals. From growing up with a menagerie of pets to raising my own human and furry kids, I've spent my life caring for loved ones of all kinds. My father bred and trained bird dogs, which gave me a deep understanding of canine behavior from a young age. My experience with dogs spans from puppies that need endless attention and training to senior dogs that require gentle care and a slower pace. I was raised in northern Michigan and have lived and worked around the world. That includes four years building an off-grid permaculture farm in the rainforest. I now call Florida home to be close to my three adult children (Tampa and Atlanta). My normal day includes an hour or two of walking, including in the woods if that is an option. My small marketing business is entirely online, which allows me the flexibility to live anywhere. This makes pet sitting an excellent option to combine my love for travel with my passion for pet and home care. Before starting my company, I spent 22 years in business roles within the tech industry and 14 years teaching economics in the international school community. I am a native English speaker and am reasonably fluent in Spanish. I am confident with the care of a wide variety of family pets and a wide range of needs, including giving injections, cleaning and bandaging wounds, and assisting with births. As a pet parent who has used paid sitters, I know what it feels like to entrust your home and beloved animals to a stranger. It's a responsibility I take very seriously, and I am glad to provide that same sense of security and expert care for you and your canine kids.

When I am not pet and home sitting through Rover, I live with one of my adult children. While I do help her with pet and homecare (and the cooking!), unless she is traveling, I am not required to be there. As such, I have infinately flexibility to accept interesting house and pet sitting assignments, and to be fully present for your pets in your home when you are away.

Sarah stayed with my dog for 11 days in my home. She is a lovely person and a wonderful caretaker!. My dog was happy and serene when I got home and my house was immaculate. I hope Sarah is available the next time I go away - in fact, I may plan my travel around her availability!

Sarah was just incredible to state it as plainly as possible. I am so lucky I found her. Not only did she arrive super early the morning of her first day watching my dog (I had an early flight to catch), she also stayed late the day I came home…after caring for my dog for 11 straight days!! I instantly had my mind and worries put to ease. She communicated any concerns and notified me what she tried to do to make my dog happy (my dog refused to eat or drink the first couple days I was gone). She went above and beyond the call to care for my dog and I know they had a great time together! I came home to a clean house, and a very happy dog 😊. I honestly felt like I didn’t have to worry at all while I was gone because I knew my dog was in such great hands. She will definitely be my first choice for any future pet sitting needs!!! Sarah stayed at our house to watch our dog, and she was fantastic. She was on time, communicative, and our dog warmed up to her immediately. I highly recommend her.
Sarah was great! She understands how anxious my dog is even under normal circumstances and handled her accordingly. She was prompt and professional.
I highly recommend Sarah as a pet/house sitter. She was a joy to have caring for my young golden retriever, as she is responsible, trustworthy, and attentive to all the little details that matter. What sets Sarah apart most is her genuine connection to animals, above and beyond being a highly competent caregiver. My young dog became so attached to her during their daily walks and frequent cuddle sessions that for weeks after Sarah left, my pup still ran to look for her first thing every morning. That speaks volumes about the bond they formed. Sarah also left my house in better shape than it was in when she arrived. I wholeheartedly believe Sarah will be a positive addition to the Rover community. She is a rare find, and whoever’s pets she cares for will be lucky to have her there (and likely to ask her back again and again).

Schedule
My online business requires 6 to 8 hours per day working online. That leaves ample time for walking outdoors, playing and cuddling, and household care. My calendar is accurate. I have already booked two long sits 1) mid Sep to early Nov and 2) early Jan to end of Feb. I do week or longer sits in central Florida.

- I will ask for a written list of likes, dislikes, behavior quirks, permitted sleeping spots, and medical issues in addition to a short discussion related to those in advance. We would also discuss if you want your pet to accompany me on car based outings, such as to local hiking trails. I have my own vehicle, but you would need to provide any expected car restraint harness or crate for car use.
