“Ashley was absolutely amazing with my babies. My original boarding was fully booked so I was hesitant to use Rover, but she made me feel at ease. She provided lots of updates and photos - will definitely be using her again! :)”

About: I've been taking care of dogs ever since I was a child, and I currently have one that I'm taking care of now! If your dog loves to go outside, take walks and play, or even if your dog likes to rest and receive pets and cuddles, I'm happy to provide the same level of care as I would for my dog! I currently work from home off of a laptop, and my schedule is very flexible! I'll be able to provide your fluffy friend the proper care they need and give them all the attention they want! I'm happy to ensure that your home remains a safe environment for your pet while you are away! I'd also be happy to take pictures throughout my stay to provide peace of mind that your pet is happy and healthy!
About: I have had multiple cats since I was very young and adopted several from animal shelters over the past 11 years. I have been a Rover user blessed with some wonderful car sitters and now I have some extra time, I would like to give some back to the community. I am semi retired and love taking care of cats. They all have different personalities and I know the only way to gain their trust is to have them decide on their own terms. All my cats are indoor only cats and I would treat my clients’ cats the same way. I will be extra careful with their staying inside and follow all the instructions about litter box cleaning and feeding them.
“Jill did a great job with our little princesses as they can be a little “needy”. She arrived when she said she would and provided the ideal level of communication with pictures during her stay. Even left the house cleaner than when she arrived.”
“I genuinely cannot say enough good things. From the moment I booked, I felt completely comfortable leaving my pup in her care. She were incredibly kind, communicative, attentive, and clearly treated her like she was their own. I got regular updates and photos, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was happy, safe, and being loved on while I was away.”

I couldn't have asked for a better sitter and will definitely book with her again!”

“This was the first time we used Rover and we are very pleased. Erin was fantastic. She was very responsible, and communicative and responded to our texts very quickly. She loves animals and immediately took to our dachshunds and they really liked her as well. The pups were great when we arrived home and our house looked like we never left. Madison is the absolute best. She not only keeps us well updated on all (5) of our fur babies morning and evening, but she really cares for the animals and they seem happy and loved whenever we return. My wife and I are so grateful to have found her because we are very picky about who we trust our babies to ~ and she goes above and beyond. Our house is a handful but we will always trust it in hers. Thanks Madison! Leo, Link, Lola, August and Ava love you!

If you’re looking for a top-tier dog sitter, hire Rico! He set up a meet-and-greet beforehand so everyone felt comfortable, sent daily updates with a cool report card, and left our house completely spotless. He didn't just watch our dogs, he gave them the full babysitter treatment, taking them out and having fun with them the whole time. They had a blast, and we felt 100% confident with them in his care. Highly recommended!

As always, when I leave Pretty Kitty in Sami’s care I have complete peace of mind while I’m away. Sami sends me pictures and tells me of the funny antics they experience together. Sami also is very respectful of my house and tends to the kitty’s daily routines, including giving meds as prescribed. I highly recommend Sami as a very professional, compassionate pet sitter.

Sarah stayed with my dog for 11 days in my home. She is a lovely person and a wonderful caretaker!. My dog was happy and serene when I got home and my house was immaculate. I hope Sarah is available the next time I go away - in fact, I may plan my travel around her availability!

We hired Madie for a trip that another person canceled on us last minute. We needed a house/pet sitter. It was very stressful but Madie came in, did a great job with our pets and was very respectful to our home. Would hire her again in a heartbeat!! She gave us updates and pictures multiple times per day.
Mark took great care of our senior dog, Milo, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. He communicated regularly, kept us updated, and followed all of our instructions carefully. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about the pets he looks after. We felt comfortable knowing Milo was in good hands. We would definitely book with Mark again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive pet sitter.

Mary is fantastic! It’s the 2nd time we book her to sit our dogs and we’ve had a wonderful experience both times. She’s proactive and if she thinks there’s anything she can do to better handle our dogs, she will ask questions and make it happen. She loves our babies and we love her!

We could not be more happy with having Nicole house/dog sit. From the moment we met to her leaving the house we had no worries about our pups being in good hands. Our pups are older (12.5 & 15.5 yrs old) and though they are for the most part very chill, they do require a lot of attention. Our little girl has three different medications she is on daily, and have to be given at specific times of day. She is also incontinent and has to be let out to pee every 2-3 hours to avoid accidents. They food is Farmer's Dog and the list could go on of important things that need to be tended to daily. Nicole had no problem at all with any of this. We were able to have a nice vacation away on the beach without a worry. Nicole sent updates with photos and even asked questions to make sure she understood my notes accurately. This was her first time staying with them and the house was spotless when we got back, with a youtube channel on our tv playing beautiful music. The dogs were very happy and I am pretty sure they miss her already!! Highly recommend Nicole (Eunice) !! Hope to have her back soon!! Very grateful-- thank you so much Nicole!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Carrollwood Village on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 4,394 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Carrollwood Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Carrollwood Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Carrollwood Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Carrollwood Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
