Ashley was absolutely amazing with my babies. My original boarding was fully booked so I was hesitant to use Rover, but she made me feel at ease. She provided lots of updates and photos - will definitely be using her again! :)

Ryan was an absolute awesome sitter for our little Luna. He was very accommodating and came a little early per our request to bond with Luna and give her time to feel comfortable around him. She seemed very comfortable and happy and wanting to play. Ryan was very respectful and helped also keep things tidy , bringing in our packages and mail. We definitely will book with Ryan again for our next trip.

Cody and Lily love Stephanie and we do too! Stehpanie is dependable and trustworthy. She is always prompt, communicates well and leaves our home in perfect condition. I love that she sends videos of the "kids". I can go away for the weekend and not worry about Cody and Lily and that is priceless!

About: Hello! I’m Stephanie and I love dogs of all breeds, sizes, and age. Each dog has their own quirks and personality, and as a dog sitter I respond accordingly. Playtime, cuddles, long walks, whatever your dog needs, I’ll be glad to provide. I live in Westchase, but I am willing to travel to dog sit or walk your dog. I have a very flexible schedule and accept one day advance notice. I am attentive and patient, giving your dog the love and care they deserve while in my watch. I can provide your pet with everything they need or want from medication, walks, and entertainment.

About: I’ve had animals my entire life and love them more than humans! From dogs, cats, horses, parrots, and goats, I've cared for them all. My family lived on a farm for a couple years, and I was responsible for pet care at a very young age. Dogs and horses are my passion, with my favorites having big personalities! I raised my own dog outside of my family from eight weeks old until he unfortunately passed at nearly 12. The potty training and grumpy old man years aren't for the faint of heart, but nothing I can't handle! I’m currently trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up and would love to have your pup make me smile in the meantime. Being between work means I am available most times and days and can give the extra care, cuddles, playtime, and (obviously) treats all the good dogs need! I respect each pet parents’ wishes and will do everything I can to accommodate. I cook for pets more than myself and am happy to oblige to each unique need.

About: I've been taking care of dogs ever since I was a child, and I currently have one that I'm taking care of now! If your dog loves to go outside, take walks and play, or even if your dog likes to rest and receive pets and cuddles, I'm happy to provide the same level of care as I would for my dog! I currently work from home off of a laptop, and my schedule is very flexible! I'll be able to provide your fluffy friend the proper care they need and give them all the attention they want! I'm happy to ensure that your home remains a safe environment for your pet while you are away! I'd also be happy to take pictures throughout my stay to provide peace of mind that your pet is happy and healthy!

Katherine was the BEST! She house sat Wiley, my 2 year old pit bull, for several days while I was away. She kept me updated with texts and photos of Wiley. Katherine took Wiley on hikes and several park play sessions throughout each day. When I arrived home, the house was just as we left it and Wiley was a very happy pup. I highly recommend Katherine's services. She is wonderful!

About: Growing up, I’ve always been and loved being around dogs, whether they were my neighbors, friends, or my own! I have years of experience taking care of pups of all sizes, and i’m a proud chocolate lab/pitbull mix owner! Before graduating college, I used to volunteer at the humane society every month, which is where I adopted my own, Cooper! I am currently working part-time, and available during the week, but can still pup sit on the weekends if necessary! My schedule is very flexible!! I love long dog walks to stay active, and I do have a lab that loves other dogs, but prefer to pup sit at the clients’ houses

Chris is Very communicative and patient with timid dogs. This was the first time I had pet sitting at my house and was nervous about the entire process his communication and willingness to follow the directions I provided really made it easy to trust him in my home and with my dogs. I have a Doberman and a Yorkie, the Doberman is still very new to me as he is a recent rescue and Christ provided him the space he needed to naturally warm up to Chris. I recommend and would reschedule.

If you’re looking for a top-tier dog sitter, hire Rico! He set up a meet-and-greet beforehand so everyone felt comfortable, sent daily updates with a cool report card, and left our house completely spotless. He didn't just watch our dogs, he gave them the full babysitter treatment, taking them out and having fun with them the whole time. They had a blast, and we felt 100% confident with them in his care. Highly recommended!

Jasmine was a delight to work with. She is responsible, reliable, and intentional in everything she does. I especially appreciated that she asked thoughtful questions to make sure everything was in order before I left. She arrived early and took amazing care of my dog, Tucker. Each day, she sent me a special photo from their walks or playtime, which gave me great peace of mind. She also did a wonderful job caring for my chickens and watering my plants When I returned home, everything was spotless and in perfect order. I highly recommend Jasmine and would gladly trust her with my home and pets again!

This was our first time booking with Rover and with Kristy. We booked her for over a week of overnight stays and she was incredibly compassionate and kind to our very shy & timid cat. I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter! Nikki was absolutely amazing from start to finish. From the moment she arrived, I felt completely at ease leaving my dog in her care. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make sure he felt comfortable and safe in his own home. Throughout the day, Nikki kept me constantly updated with messages and the sweetest photos, which honestly meant so much to me. I could tell my dog was relaxed, happy, and getting lots of love and attention. She followed all of my instructions perfectly and made sure his routine stayed consistent, which I really appreciated. What stood out the most is how genuinely caring Nikki is — you can tell she truly loves animals. My dog absolutely adored her, and that says everything. When I got back home, he was calm, content, and clearly well cared for. I would 1000% trust Nikki again and recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, responsible, and loving. She is truly amazing, and I’m so grateful I found her!

I reached out to Megan the day before a work trip (after usually sitter cancelled). Not only did she respond quickly, but she made herself available to meet that same day. While I was gone she took great care of both my pup and my house, and based off the pictures I think my dog was more excited to see her than he is with me 🤷‍♂️ Point being - Megan is reliable, trustworthy, and has a huge heart for animals. Thank you again!! 🫶🫶

FAQs for House Sitting - Town 'n' Country

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Town 'n' Country on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 4,382 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Town 'n' Country. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Town 'n' Country walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Town 'n' Country maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Town 'n' Country choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Town 'n' Country. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
