“Maureen was fantastic! She arrived right on time, kept us updated, and took such great care of our puppies while we were away. It gave us real peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We’d absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter.”

“Alyssa was absolutely amazing beyond expectations. She cared for our 2 pups and our cat. Great communication and true care for our babies. Would highly recommend and when needed Will definitely ask for help again. A+++”

“Meredith did a wonderful job watching our pup for the weekend. She kept us updated all weekend and left our house clean and tidy. We returned to a very happy, calm dog. Highly recommend!”

“Stephanie was amazing with my girls. She took care of them. Sent a ton of pictures and went above and beyond with their care. I highly recommend using Stephanie for your fur babies.”

“Barbara is a very good pet sitter! Our cat & dog love to spend time with her when she is taking care of them. We prefer a house-sitter arrangement because our dog is elderly and Barbara has been great and gives us the peace of mind that our babies are being well taken care of when we are on vacation. I highly recommend her services!”

About: I’ve been a dog and cat lover my entire life and have always had pets of my own. Over the years, I’ve cared for pets of all personalities and have experience pet sitting for friends and neighbors, as well as serving as an interim puppy foster. I’m new to the area and excited to build relationships with local pets and their people! While I may be new to Rover, I’m definitely not new to caring for animals. I understand how important it is to have someone you can truly trust with your pet, and I’ll care for yours with the same attention, patience, and affection I give my own. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, playtime, meals, or simply some company and cuddles while you’re away, my goal is to make them feel comfortable, safe, and loved, and to give you peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. I work remotely, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability throughout the week. I’m able to accommodate daytime walks and drop-ins, as well as early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Because I’m home during the day, I can often be flexible with timing and am happy to work with your pet’s usual routine whenever possible Your pet’s safety and your peace of mind are my top priorities. I’m extremely attentive and careful, and I understand the responsibility that comes with caring for someone’s pet in their home. I’ll follow your instructions and your pet’s normal routine closely, always double-check doors, gates, leashes and harnesses, and pay close attention to your pet’s behavior and surroundings. I’m happy to provide updates and photos during every visit so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, happy and well cared for while you’re away
“We love Mary! Not just us but Toby too. Toby is so happy she arrives because he loves her too! She is so attentive and caring. Our dog needs TLC due to anxiety and taking meds and Mary always takes care of Toby like he is her own. We know Toby is in the best hands when we are away!”

About: As a lifelong dog lover and owner for 10 years, I’m now embarking on a new chapter after 24 wonderful years in Chicago. Following a long career in advertising sales, I’m seeking a slower-paced, more fulfilling path — one that lets me combine my reliability with my love for animals. At 49, I bring maturity, responsibility, and genuine care to every pup I watch, ensuring your they are looked after as if they were my own. Also, the doodle you see in some pics is my amazingly chill, gets along with every living thing, sidekick Lambeau. So please note your dog(s) must be okay with other dogs. I'm currently taking some time off and won't be going back to remote work until the fall '26, at the earliest. So I'm very flexible with my time at the moment. I live in an apartment complex (2 bed / 2 bath) with a huge unfenced grassy area off my lanai, that Lambeau and I call our own backyard. I also live across the street from John Chesnut park, in the Tarpon Woods area so Lambeau and I spend lots of time at that huge dog park and/or exploring the various trails. So if you're open to that as well, I'll gladly take your pup(s) over there for some adventures.
“Lucas did a great job caring for our lab. He engages well with the dog and seems to genuinely like caring for him. He was very respectful of our home and communicates well. Lucas is very responsible and trustworthy. Highly recommend him!!!”
“You couldn't ask for a better sitter. This was the 1st time we used rover and our dog had never had a sitter. Shawn used his charm and probably patience to win Bernadette over. He also left our house spotless. An all round gentleman. Would hire him again in a nanotechnology second”

“Callie took care of my Lily and did an amazing job! She took her on walks on the beach, gave her a bath, and entertained her all weekend! She also provided pictures of my dog to keep me updated.”

“Cody and Lily love Stephanie and we do too! Stehpanie is dependable and trustworthy. She is always prompt, communicates well and leaves our home in perfect condition. I love that she sends videos of the "kids". I can go away for the weekend and not worry about Cody and Lily and that is priceless!”

About: Hi! I’m Rachel, and I’m an animal lover who genuinely believes pets are family. 🐾❤️ I know how stressful it can be to leave your furry babies with someone else, so my goal is to make the experience as comfortable and worry-free as possible for both you and your pets. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to follow your pet’s normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. Whether your pet wants lots of cuddles and attention or prefers a little space, I’m happy to meet them where they are. I’m especially comfortable caring for cats and love getting to know each one’s unique personality — including the shy, sassy, and slightly spoiled ones! 🐈⬛💕 I’m also very responsible when it comes to feeding schedules, medications or special instructions, litter box care, playtime, and keeping you updated while you’re away. Your home and your pet will always be treated with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I’d love the opportunity to meet your pets and help give them a happy, comfortable experience while you’re away! 🐾 Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I’m able to build visits and pet care into my daily schedule and make sure each pet gets the attention, care, and consistency they need. I’m very comfortable following established routines, including feeding schedules, medications, litter box care, playtime, and other special instructions. I also understand that pets thrive on consistency, so I make it a priority to be dependable and keep their routine as close to normal as possible while their owners are away. 🐾💕 I care for pets in their own home by keeping their routine as consistent and comfortable as possible. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, fresh water, litter box care, playtime, cuddles, medications, and any special treatments they may need. 🐾 I’m respectful of my clients’ homes and treat them with the same care I would want someone to show my own home. I also make sure pets receive plenty of attention and companionship while their owners are away, while respecting their individual personalities and boundaries. I’ll provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your fur baby is happy, safe, and being well cared for. 💕
“Sarena was absolutely amazing with our girl. She kept us updated the whole time we were away with pictures and even brought in our packages and garbage cans. She cleaned up and washed the sheets and towels as well! We would 100% ask her to watch our pets again. We’re so lucky to have found her!”

“Heaven stayed in our home with Cleo for 12 days. She’s great with communication and super friendly. Upon our arrival home, our house looked just as we had left it and Cleo laid in the bed Heaven slept in, clearly missing her! We highly recommend her!”

About: I have volunteered at pet shelters, boarded and babysat dogs, and have encountered all different types of behaviors. All of them need love and attention. I’m working part time remotely and have plenty of time to take care of pets. I am available everyday of the week to follow any schedule or routine that your pet might need. I can take pets on short or long walks, spend time with them, and adhere to any routine that your pet finds comfortable. I can keep you updated on your pets day as well.
“Taylor was very good with Hunter. He had a couple of skin infections and she was on top of it! He had a trip to the vet and a trip to the ER. She made sure he had his medicine, daily exercise, food and water, and made sure he wore the dreaded cone. Taylor took very good care of him. Taylor gave us daily updates and pictures of Hunter. If she had a question, she asked. Taylor also stayed at our house. She treated it as her own. Everything was in order when we came home. Bedding (ours and Hunters) was washed. We were very pleased with the care Taylor gave Hunter and our home.”

Stephanie was an amazing sitter for my two large dogs! She took the time to meet them a few times beforehand so I could make sure my older dog was comfortable, which I really appreciated. While I was away, she walked them multiple times a day, kept the house tidy, and sent me updates with photos and videos throughout the day. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were so well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Stephanie to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

We were new to Rover and had previously only had family or close friends look after our dogs when traveling. We ran into a last minute bind and needed to find someone to look after our dogs a day before we left. That’s when we were fortunate enough to get paired with Katie. From the first interaction, Katie was responsive, accommodating to our requests, and absolutely wonderful with our very co-dependent dogs. She sent us pictures and check-ins daily which truly exceeded my expectations. She took the best care of our pets while we were away and I’m truly grateful we met Katie. We will absolutely book with her in the future.

Victoria was fantastic! Stayed over on a holiday weekend and was great at staying in contact, sending pictures, and taking care of my babies! One of my dogs is a bit more high maintenance and she handled her wonderfully. I would definitely recommend Victoria and we will be contacting her again for future trips!

Lillian was very good at communicating with pictures some days. This is one of the most important things to having someone in your home watching our Precious Fluffys . She let our Cockapoo snuggle in bed with her , that made Amber much more comfortable and lessened her missing us . She also made headway with our kitty , that is very shy . She got him to come to her for pets and snacks . This made us feel even better fir a more Peaceful vacation . Lillian is a delight , she also fed the squirrels in our yard and refreshed their water , which is so important during drought times . She also left our hone so clean, we almost couldn't tell she was here . Thank You Lillian for all of your help . We will hire her again .

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Oldsmar on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 4,076 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Oldsmar. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oldsmar walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oldsmar maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oldsmar choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oldsmar. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
