About: As a lifelong dog lover and owner for 10 years, I’m now embarking on a new chapter after 24 wonderful years in Chicago. Following a long career in advertising sales, I’m seeking a slower-paced, more fulfilling path — one that lets me combine my reliability with my love for animals. At 49, I bring maturity, responsibility, and genuine care to every pup I watch, ensuring your they are looked after as if they were my own. Also, the doodle you see in some pics is my amazingly chill, gets along with every living thing, sidekick Lambeau. So please note your dog(s) must be okay with other dogs. I'm currently taking some time off and won't be going back to remote work until the fall '26, at the earliest. So I'm very flexible with my time at the moment. I live in an apartment complex (2 bed / 2 bath) with a huge unfenced grassy area off my lanai, that Lambeau and I call our own backyard. I also live across the street from John Chesnut park, in the Tarpon Woods area so Lambeau and I spend lots of time at that huge dog park and/or exploring the various trails. So if you're open to that as well, I'll gladly take your pup(s) over there for some adventures.
“Alyssa was incredibly communicative and loving to our pup, and when we returned, the house was just as we left it. It’s so special to know your baby is being so well taken care of. Will definitely rebook.”

“Karen was amazing. She provided daily updates and photos and seemed to bond very well with our dog. She responded to all communication promptly and came to meet Franklin prior to our trip. It's such a relief to have Pet care in your own home, especially with a senior dog. I would highly recommend Karen to watch your pup on your next trip!”

“We are very happy with Sierra house sitting our 2 dogs. She took great care of them, took them on walks, played with them in the yard and we received pictures of the dogs having fun as well. It was great knowing that our dogs were well taken care of and we could relax and enjoy our vacation. We will definitely be using Sierra again.”

“Melissa is always great with Daisy. She is very thorough, always making sure she is fully taken care of right up until I get home. I never have to worry about anything when Melissa is my sitter. ”
“Stephanie is absolutely wonderful and took such great care of our dog Summit! She went above and beyond for us while we were out of the country ! I truly can’t say enough amazing things about her and has become like family to us. She’s extremely reliable, common, and treats your pet as if her own. She sent tons of pics so we wouldn’t miss her too much while gone. We will use her again in a second on our next trip away ❤️”

“Our dog is very timid around new people. Cora did a wonderful job taking care of her. We are definitely going to use her again in the future. We would recommend her to others as well.”
“Melinda is fantastic. I had her house sit and care for my high energy dog and cat that needs meds 2x/day for a full week. She asked plenty of questions to be sure she knew their needs along with the household schedule. We got a detailed daily summary with plenty of pictures. It was obvious that my pets were having their typical day in our absence. My house was immaculate and my pets were happy and healthy upon our return. I recommend Melinda highly.”

“Doug was absolutely fantastic. He is an excellent communicator and kept us abreast of how our girls were doing. 10/10 would absolutely have him stay with our girls in our home again.”

“Holi-Nicol was great! We had to make a last minute booking due to an out of town funeral. She responded quickly and set up a meet and greet for the next day. She was great with our three dogs, and kept us updated with pictures. The dogs loved her, and we will definitely be using her again!”

“Wow amazing! Amazing communication and even came by for a meet and greet with such short notice. One of our pups had some tummy troubles and she kept us updated the entire time and even made a vet visit on our behalf. The whole process she made a breeze. We will for sure be using again. She loves dogs.. it radiates off her!! Our boys seemed so so happy and we felt comfortable having her stay in our home.”

About: Hi! I’m Rachel, and I’m an animal lover who genuinely believes pets are family. 🐾❤️ I know how stressful it can be to leave your furry babies with someone else, so my goal is to make the experience as comfortable and worry-free as possible for both you and your pets. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to follow your pet’s normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. Whether your pet wants lots of cuddles and attention or prefers a little space, I’m happy to meet them where they are. I’m especially comfortable caring for cats and love getting to know each one’s unique personality — including the shy, sassy, and slightly spoiled ones! 🐈⬛💕 I’m also very responsible when it comes to feeding schedules, medications or special instructions, litter box care, playtime, and keeping you updated while you’re away. Your home and your pet will always be treated with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I’d love the opportunity to meet your pets and help give them a happy, comfortable experience while you’re away! 🐾 Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I’m able to build visits and pet care into my daily schedule and make sure each pet gets the attention, care, and consistency they need. I’m very comfortable following established routines, including feeding schedules, medications, litter box care, playtime, and other special instructions. I also understand that pets thrive on consistency, so I make it a priority to be dependable and keep their routine as close to normal as possible while their owners are away. 🐾💕 I care for pets in their own home by keeping their routine as consistent and comfortable as possible. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, fresh water, litter box care, playtime, cuddles, medications, and any special treatments they may need. 🐾 I’m respectful of my clients’ homes and treat them with the same care I would want someone to show my own home. I also make sure pets receive plenty of attention and companionship while their owners are away, while respecting their individual personalities and boundaries. I’ll provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your fur baby is happy, safe, and being well cared for. 💕

About: I have loved and cared for dogs and cats my entire life, and would be happy to help take care of yours! I am comfortable with small, medium, large, and extra large sized dogs of all ages and have experience walking and pet sitting all sizes. I am an active person and thoroughly enjoy walking/swimming with dogs as well! My family raises seeing eye dogs for the blind, and working with such wonderful animals is a passion of mine. I understand that leaving a family member at home while you’re away can be difficult for both you and your dog, so I hope to alleviate some of that stress for you. Please feel free to reach out to me with additional questions. I am excited to meet you and your fur babies! I work from home and have a fenced yard! I can take frequent potty breaks and/or walks, and have the flexibility to be attentive to your pets needs throughout the day. I have a friendly black lab who loves everyone to keep your fur baby company. I also have a pool if your pup likes to swim!
“Lucas did a great job caring for our lab. He engages well with the dog and seems to genuinely like caring for him. He was very respectful of our home and communicates well. Lucas is very responsible and trustworthy. Highly recommend him!!!”
“Jillian was beyond amazing. We had some schedule changes and she rolled with the punches and was there to look after our home and Dog. She sent photos periodically to let us know he was doing great but also didn’t overwhelm us while we were away. we will definitely be having her back.”

About: I’ve had animals my entire life and love them more than humans! From dogs, cats, horses, parrots, and goats, I've cared for them all. My family lived on a farm for a couple years, and I was responsible for pet care at a very young age. Dogs and horses are my passion, with my favorites having big personalities! I raised my own dog outside of my family from eight weeks old until he unfortunately passed at nearly 12. The potty training and grumpy old man years aren't for the faint of heart, but nothing I can't handle! I’m currently trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up and would love to have your pup make me smile in the meantime. Being between work means I am available most times and days and can give the extra care, cuddles, playtime, and (obviously) treats all the good dogs need! I respect each pet parents’ wishes and will do everything I can to accommodate. I cook for pets more than myself and am happy to oblige to each unique need.
“Michele is wonderful, very gentle and loving with our rescue dog who has some fears. She is very professional and left our home in great shape as well. It was lovely to get home and see everyone happy and well cared for. She also sent us pics and texts updates daily which is important to us because we miss our dog.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - East Lake
Andrea was caring, communicative, professional, dependable, and a pleasure to work with! She responded quickly when I first reached out and generously made time for a meet-and-greet the very next day. This was my first time booking a house sitter and my longest time away from my recently adopted senior kitty, so I was understandably a little nervous. But Daisy immediately greeted Andrea at the door and seemed comfortable with her, which put me at ease. Andrea was attentive to all the little quirks I shared about Daisy, asked thoughtful questions, and was transparent about her daily schedule. She had the flexibility to spend most of the day at my home with Daisy, which was a huge benefit. Throughout my trip, she provided daily photo and video updates and was always quick to respond when we communicated. I also appreciated coming home to a tidy space—Andrea vacuumed, kept the kitchen clean, and took out the trash and recycling. I felt genuinely relieved knowing my cat had loving care and steady companionship while I was away. One of the best signs of how well the stay went was that Daisy was completely herself when I returned, with no apparent signs of stress or separation anxiety after my time away. I would highly recommend Andrea for house sitting and would happily reach out to her again for future stays or drop in visits!

Melinda was wonderful and we recommend her to anyone considering her services. She was prompt for our meet-and-greet and brought a notebook to write down answers to her questions. While she watched our furry friends she sent daily pictures was communicative. We arrived home to a tidy house and happy pets! We will absolutely rebook with Melinda.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in East Lake on Rover is $37.45 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 3,832 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across East Lake. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Lake walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Lake maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Lake choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Lake. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
