“Alyssa was very good as usual! Have always used her for long trips but this was the first times I did a drop in visit for an hour dur to being gone for several hours. Coco and Sallie loved seeing Alyssa again and it was great to get several photo/video updates!”

“We were anxious about leaving our cat home alone overnight for the first time but Alyssha was so attentive and sent us updates on him. Even scooped litter for us before we got home. Would definitely ask Alyssha to check on our boy again. Thank you!”

“Camron did a great job with reoccurring visits to take care of my cat while I was on vacation. I always knew when she arrived and she always took plenty of photos to show what she had done and so I could see my cat. She even brought in my mail for me and swept up the cat litter off the floor. I will definitely use her services again!”

About: I’ve been a dog owner for over 20 years and absolutely love dogs! I work from home, so your pup will have plenty of company, attention, and care throughout the day. I have a very friendly doodle who loves having another dog around. To make sure every guest gets lots of individual attention and feels comfortable in our home, I only care for one visiting dog at a time. I also have children, so visiting dogs must be friendly and comfortable around both kids and other dogs. I welcome dogs under 50 lbs who are house-trained, non-aggressive, and not destructive or prone to chewing furniture or household items. My goal is to provide a safe, relaxed, loving home-away-from-home where your dog can feel like part of the family while you’re away. I work from home, so your pup will rarely be alone and will enjoy plenty of walks, playtime, attention, and companionship throughout the entire day. I provide a safe, loving home with constant supervision. I work from home, take one dog at a time, and have a friendly doodle. I will try to follow your schedule as closely as possible.

“Allison was fabulous with my Rico. I was worried because of his fear of fireworks but she followed instructions and kept me informed of his behavior on her visits. She was personable and easy going and in turn I was able to enjoy my mini vacation. I will definitely book with her again.”

About: My experience includes different breeds, sizes, ages-(puppy to senior) disabilities, and some temperaments but exceptions may apply. Understanding individual needs is my best quality. If you have questions please ask. I am a student currently- so I am pretty available unless appointments overlap which I give plenty of notice. It is a top priority of mine to be transparent in scheduling as the animals depend on me! In my care I emphasise accuracy in your routine, plus safety for both me and the pet. If your pet has special requirements for safety such as being known to swallow or chew on certain things, communication is key!

I’m patient, attentive, responsible, and I always follow each owner’s instructions and their dog’s usual routine. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. I’m available on weekdays and weekends and can adjust my availability depending on your pet’s routine and needs. Safety and comfort are always my priority. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, walks, routines, medications, and house rules. I keep pets supervised, make sure their environment is clean and secure, and always pay attention to their individual behavior and needs.

“Great experience with Emma ! She was on time, reliable, and took great care of our two dogs and cat. She was even able to get our usually anxious dog comfortable enough to go outside, which meant a lot to us. Thank you”

About: Growing up, I have always had dogs and I have always loved taking care of them and being around them my friends and family have had me walk their dogs and feed their dogs and take care of their animals while they were gone or on vacation. I’m currently working as a bev cart girl 3/4 days a week and I have a vehicle I can get back-and-forth with so I can fit any needs. We have a dog, Richie he loves to play with any pets I will have plenty of time for your pet! Whether it's to take them on long walks or play with them whenever they want to! Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priorities. About: For 12 years I’ve had the honor of caring for my 86 lb. Pitty named Shadow, who enjoyed a very rich and healthy life. Shadow is now in doggy Heaven, but had the very best life any dog could ask for. Shadow was a very active & playful dog who enjoyed our daily runs, walks and playing fetch. I have a lovely pet friendly home and would love to share it with your fur babies when you are in or out of town. I work full time, but get home very early in time to run, walk and play with your dog. I do not work on Sat or Sun so we have all day to enjoy our beautiful Florida weather indoors or outdoors. My yard is fenced in and I typically go for daily walks with the dogs in my care. My home is lovely yet pet friendly and your dog would be welcomed as if it were their own home. I have multiple crates of varying sizes if your dog requires crating, but it is not mandatory while they are here. You can bring your own crate if your baby is more comfortable with what they already know. Also, they can use the potty as often as they like as I usually sit outside with them. My care is superior and my home is safe and friendly. Try me, I promise you will be more than satisfied. My fur babies comes first, everything else is second nature. I’m dedicated to giving the best care I can possibly give ensuring each baby is comfortable, happy, safe and get enough exercise through play and walks throughout the day. All dogs are kept separate if they come from different homes. They eat separately as well so as not to cause food aggression or anxiety amongst each other.
About: I’ve been around pets my whole life and I’m super comfortable with all kinds of dogs and cats. I’ve watched playful puppies, easygoing adults, and sweet senior pets who just need a little extra care. I can stick to feeding routines, give potty breaks as often as needed, go on walks, play, and of course give them plenty of love and attention. I’ll treat your pet like they’re my own while you’re away! ❤️ I have open availability, so I’m able to make caring for pets a priority throughout my day. I enjoy structuring my schedule around the pets I’m caring for, making sure they feel safe, happy, and well‑cared for every single day. I like to care for pets the same way I’d want someone to care for mine; with a lot of love, patience, and attention. In a client’s home, I make sure to follow your routine as closely as possible, like feeding times, walks, and any little habits your pet is used to. I keep their space clean, give them plenty of playtime and cuddles, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away.
“Ava is an absolute gem! She handled both of my dogs with so much patience and love, including my hyper dog who can be a handful. She matched her energy while still keeping things calm and safe for my other dog too. Ava communicated very easily throughout the time she cared for my dogs and followed every single care instruction I left to the letter. It's clear she genuinely cares about the pet and their safety. My dogs responded well to her and I'm looking forward to booking her again. Five stars all the way. Book her, you won't regret it!"”

Cat was absolutely wonderful! I reached out on pretty short notice, and she was so sweet and accommodating from the start. She even came by the day before to meet my cats, which I really appreciated! Throughout my trip, she sent lots of pictures and the cutest little updates about how they were doing, which made me feel so much better being away. You can tell she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. I'm so happy I found her and would absolutely book with her again! Highly recommend! ❤️

She did a wonderful job taking care of our pets! We felt completely comfortable knowing they were in good hands while we were away. She provided plenty of photos and videos, which gave us peace of mind and let us see how happy and well cared for they were. We really appreciated her communication and attention to our pets. We would definitely hire her again and highly recommend her!

I can’t say enough amazing things about Jacob! I lucked out, as he was the first sitter I contacted. He took such great care of my Archie boy. He made sure he knew all of Archie’s needs in advance, and I felt such peace knowing Archie was in such good hands. I recommend Jacob ♾️/10!

The best experience we have ever had with someone watching our two crazy pups! Isabell communicated through the entire process flawlessly, provided photos, a nice update about the visit and even arranged to get our house key back safely! Our dogs are XL, often hard to find someone comfortable with them and I could tell this was a perfect fit from the meet up. They can’t wait to see you again 🐶 🐶 thanks a ton!

Faith took great care of our fur babies. We got stuck for a longer duration out of town due to weather and had to extend care and she was so flexible and caring! She even stopped by to turn the heat up when the trmps dropped! We will definitely ask her to watch them again! Highly recommend!
Juliana provided wonderful care to my three fur babies while I traveled out of town. Within minutes, all pets felt comfortable enough to seek attention and stand next to her. I received pictures and communication throughout the entire booking. I highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
