“Lindsay was so good with our Chiweenie dog that has anxiety. I had zero worries leaving our adopted Chiweenie dog with her. I will definitely be booking again. Thanks for everything including the updates and pictures.”

About: Hi! My name is Ashley, and I would love to walk and love on your fur babies while you’re away! I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life and I love walking in and seeing the smiles when they know they get to go for a walk! I’m a local PreK teacher so my schedule is usually free after 3:30 on weekdays, but my weekends are usually wide open! Growing up I always had animals in my house so I’m very comfortable with messes they make or medicine they need, so if your babies need that too I’d be more than happy to help! If you’re looking for someone to have your pets feel comfortable and happy all day, even while you’re away, I’d love to be that person! I'm currently a PreK teacher at a local elementary school, so my weekdays are open starting around 3:30 pm! On the weekends, I usually hang out at home or around town, so my schedule is pretty flexible! In your home, I promise to follow whatever makes your pets the most comfortable! Whether your dogs like to lounge on the couch or feel more content in a crate, I'll do whatever you'd like!
“AJ is the best !! My kitty Sasha has such a crush on him 🐈⬛❤️. I know I can count on AJ to love on and fed Sasha . I always enjoy his breakdown of his visits with Sasha . He goes above and beyond 👍🏾”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all kinds my entire life! I helped my family foster dogs of all ages and sizes (up to 23 at a time) since elementary school. I haven’t met a doggy I didn’t love! I’ve cared for dogs by administering medicine, grooming, wrapping injuries, and more. I love going on runs and playing catch if your furry family needs some exercise as well! I work full time, but have a lengthy lunch break and free evenings after 5pm. I would be happy to drop in for an early morning visit as well. I don’t currently have any pets in my own home, but in my family home I am responsible for feeding, administering medicine, walking, cleaning up after, playing with, and giving head scratches!
“Ava is an absolute gem! She handled both of my dogs with so much patience and love, including my hyper dog who can be a handful. She matched her energy while still keeping things calm and safe for my other dog too. Ava communicated very easily throughout the time she cared for my dogs and followed every single care instruction I left to the letter. It's clear she genuinely cares about the pet and their safety. My dogs responded well to her and I'm looking forward to booking her again. Five stars all the way. Book her, you won't regret it!"”

“Marisa is the absolute best. I’ve never been happier with a sitter. She is so good with my very anxious dog who takes awhile to warm up and my kitties all love her too! She went above and beyond. Even accepted a last minute drop in request because our flight was delayed. Highly recommend! I hope she’s available every time I need a sitter. Thanks SO much, Marisa!!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and have always loved being around them! I’ve taken care of dogs of different ages and even trained my own dog when he was a puppy. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playing, and keeping up with their daily routines. I know how much pets mean to their families, and I would treat every dog with the same love and care I give my own! I’m currently a college student, but I have plenty of time outside of classes to care for your pets! I’m available all day Mondays and Thursdays, as well as Tuesdays after 3 PM. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets with someone else. I’ll always make sure they’re safe and comfortable and follow any instructions you leave for me. I’ll also make sure they get plenty of attention and are well taken care of while you’re away!
About: I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me! I currently have a dachshund of my own and understand how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your fur baby. 🐾 My healthcare background has made me attentive, responsible, patient, and comfortable handling unexpected situations. I’m also knowledgeable in dog CPR, adding an extra level of safety and preparedness while your pet is in my care. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, feeding, or simply keeping them company, I’ll treat your pet with the same love and attention I give my own! ❤️ I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide your pet with the attention and care they deserve! I’m available Monday–Friday after 5 PM, as well as on weekends. After work, I often take my own dachshund to the dog park for exercise, playtime, and fresh air, so I’d love to incorporate your pup into my active routine when appropriate. 🐾 Whether your pet needs an evening walk, drop-in visit, playtime, or weekend care, I’m happy to work with their normal schedule and routine. My goal is to make pet care convenient for you and fun and comfortable for them! Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my top priority! I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, so I treat every dog as carefully and lovingly as I would my own. My dachshund, Jasper, is friendly and loves having canine company, making him a great companion for dogs who enjoy socializing and playtime. Of course, I always follow each owner’s preferences regarding interactions with other pets. I keep a close eye on dogs while they’re in my care and never leave them unattended in situations where their safety could be at risk. I pay attention to behavior, energy levels, surroundings, and signs that a dog may need a break or extra attention. I also carefully follow feeding, walking, medication, and household instructions. With my healthcare background and knowledge of dog CPR, I’m comfortable staying calm and attentive in unexpected situations. I’m also happy to provide regular photos and updates so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, happy, and loved! 🐾❤️

“Joycemar is soooo wonderful with our pups. After a previous sitter abandoned our Giant breed puppies, Rover got in touch with Joycemar- she promptly accepted the booking. She is godsend, she plays and bonds with the puppies, left our house super clean after every visit. She even brought some help to clean up between visits so she can bond with our puppy babies. She has now gained our trust and admiration for life. I wouldn’t think twice about rebooking her if we go on another trip. Thank you for everything Joycemar!”

“Keyla took great care of our dog Charlie while we went out for an appointment. She is very friendly and we would trust her to watch our dog again! She even sent pictures so we could check in on how Charlie was doing since it was our first time leaving him.”

About: I’ve had animals my entire life. I currently have 2 kittens and my family has a 13 year old yorkie! I’ve had my own dogs, big and small, cats, and a bunny, birds and guinea pigs. I volunteered at my local animal shelter in high school, and now in college I have my own pets! I believe animals deserve so much love and respect and will treat your animals like my own. I am currently a USF student with online classes only! I am able to help you and your pets at any time during the week. I have my own transportation and my own pets are very easy to take care of, so I am able to be working very flexible hours. While working in your home, you can ensure that your pets will receive my full love and attention. I have walked big dogs, and dogs that like to pull, such as labs, dobermans and german shepherds. I am used to dogs jumping and play bites. I am also used to bathing cats and dogs, when necessary, and administering medication to them as well.

About: I’ve had dogs since I was a little girl, and we got our first cat just a few years ago but they’ve seem to have fallen in love with me lol. My main concern is making sure your pet is happy and comfortable, doesn’t matter the situation. I’m very gentle with them and I always make sure to communicate or ask when necessary, I don’t want to assume and be wrong or not inform you if something happens. **Please do not book boarding for the weekend if your pet cannot handle being alone for 12-13 hours (in regards to going to the bathroom), as I work every weekend** I am in college and I work full time. I typically work 3-12 hour shifts a week, but my class schedule is more flexible. Please just ask if a date/time works and I will let you know! I’m in an apartment so I don’t have a lot of space inside. The complex does have a little fenced in dog area, and there are some dog parks in the area that I would be willing to go to if you have a more active pet. I don’t have anything toxic in the apartment, or in a place they could reach at least (medicines/rubbing alcohol, that sort of stuff). I also like going on longer walks, 20-30 min if the weather is nice.
“Alexandria was great! She agreed to watch the dogs very last minute, and worked with our schedule for the meet and greet and drop in visits. We got updates and pictures every day, and she was on time and took really good care of our girls!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lake Magdalene
Thank you for taking such great care of my cats and home. We really appreciate it and your rover card and photos are such a welcome and rejoiced treat for us while we are on vacation, it brings us such comfort knowing you are watching them. Thank you for going out of your way to get crickets for my leopard gecko and all the slow blinking and photos of our shy girl Poe. Grey and the kittens and Poe in her own way all love you!

Morgan was amazing and I already plan on booking her again! She did hourly check-ins on my cat while I was traveling, and my cat is somewhat of a sassy girl, and takes a while to warm up to people. Seeing their relationship progress through the photos was so cute, and after a couple days she was snuggling Morgan and in her lap - which does NOT happen easily! I came back to a kitty who I knew was well taken care of, and my place was in perfect condition, with a nice note from Morgan. 100% recommend her!

Viviana was so great with Cheerio! Very tentative and kept me updated every visit and even stayed with her when Cheerio wasn’t feeling the greatest. She went above and beyond in her care with Cheerio and made her feel so loved. Definitely recommend having her watch your baby and will be using her again in the future!

Anessa is by far the most amazing sitter I’ve ever had. My cat Nunu warmed up to Anessa instantly by her calm demeanor. Anessa was incredibly patient and respectful of his boundaries. Instead of forcing interaction, she simply stood still and let him come to her on his own terms.She took such great care of him, followed all of my instructions carefully, made sure he was fed, and spent time playing with him. I also really appreciated all of the pictures and updates she sent throughout the visits. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was happy, comfortable, and being well cared for. You can truly tell that Anessa understands animals and genuinely cares about them. She went above and beyond to make sure my shy little guy felt safe and loved. I would absolutely trust her with him again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and attentive pet sitter!

Trish does a fantastic job walking the dogs. The dogs LOVE her and I am sure they look forward to seeing her. She’s reliable and is a great communicator. This is our third time using her while we were away for an extended period (this time 5 weeks). We know our girls are in good hands with Trish.

Alyssa is great. My pets take to her very well. She really engages and interacts with my fur babies and ensures she’s mindful to accommodate any requested needs for either of my cats. She’s punctual reliable and communicates well. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with her!
Brooklyn was a great pet sitter! She followed all of my instructions to a T, checked in on my cat, and tried to play with her as much as she could. She took care to go above and beyond what was asked of her, which I really appreciated. I will definitely book with Brooklyn again if she is available the next time I am out of town!

Allison was fabulous with my Rico. I was worried because of his fear of fireworks but she followed instructions and kept me informed of his behavior on her visits. She was personable and easy going and in turn I was able to enjoy my mini vacation. I will definitely book with her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
