I understand most animals thrive on a set schedule and working remotely gives me the freedom to adjust my schedule to match what they are used to with you at home. I’m a runner and like to start my day early with some exercise to beat the heat. If you’ve got a high-energy pup that needs to blow off some steam, I’d love to have them join me! If a walk is more their speed, we can do that too; or if it’s too hot, I can always hit the treadmill while they sleep in. My work allows me to take frequent breaks so you’ll likely get some update pics mid-morning or early afternoon of your pet playing. Maybe some fetch in the backyard, a quick stroll through the neighborhood, a play session inside, or a treat puzzle. After work, I like to go for a walk before prepping dinner; and then relax on the couch until bedtime. Whether your furry friend needs structured exercise or cozy companionship, I’m here to make them feel at home.

Safety, trust & environment
When boarding, I like to provide a home-like environment more than a kennel or doggy daycare. When I agree to care for your pet, I treat them like they are part of my family, not a client. That means I bring them with me whenever I can, we work on training, they get treats for being good (and for just being cute!), they get brushed, and most importantly - loved, and snuggled like they would at home. I never take on more than one boarding family at a time; limit my daycare slots to 2 dogs, so I can give my full attention to your animals. I always keep pets separate during feedings for safety. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, my calendar is blocked off for only them. I won’t be leaving for long stretches to care for other animals, or to go to an office. My main goal, outside of the health and safety of your baby, is to have your pet think of me and our time together like a fun vacation. When it comes to. health and safety, I am canine CPR-certified and have independent pet sitter insurance; so in the event of an emergency, I am as prepared as possible.

Information Laura D. would like to know about your pet
My main goal is to make sure your pet is happy and comfortable with me, so let me know what I need to do to make that happen. Things like if they have a certain morning or nighttime routine, if they prefer to be left alone during meal times, or get anxious around loud noises, new people, or animals are all helpful details! I’ll ask you lots of questions during our meet & greet and take lots of notes; so don’t worry about remembering every little thing.
A typical day
Activities depend on your pet’s preference! Regardless of what we do, you can expect a minimum of 5 updates per day when your pet is in my care. Walks and Hikes: We’ll go on daily walks around the neighborhood. If you’re boarding at my house, we can go see the donkeys or zebu cows, or mix things up with a hike at Lake Park or on many of the Tampa Bay Trailheads within a few miles of our house. In your home, show me your favorite walking routes, I love to explore! Playtime: Fun, interactive play sessions with my ever-growing stash of toys like balls of all shapes and sizes, frisbees, squeaky animals, and flirt poles to keep tails wagging and energy burning! I know lots of animals need not just physical but mental stimulation so bring a list of commands your pet knows; and we can have training sessions while we’re together. We can also break out a puzzle toy or two to keep those clever minds active and happy. Backyard Adventures: Plenty of time to safely run, sniff, and explore in our backyard, perfect for burning energy and having fun. We live on a very quiet cul de sac (only 22 houses!); but yard time is always supervised and on a long lead for safety. If your pup likes water, we have a kiddie pool and a splash pad for those extra hot days. Making Friends: If it suits them while they’re at my house, we can plan friendly playdates with other pups to help them socialize and enjoy some canine companionship. I’ve hosted a handful of “Yappy Hours” at our house on Fridays for pups I know and they have been a huge hit! While I won’t take your pup to a dog park without you; I’m happy to coordinate sessions if they have friends in your neighborhood. Snuggles & Love: Lots of cuddles, belly rubs, and one-on-one affection to make sure they feel safe, loved, and part of the family. Our home has big windows and a large lanai so we have plenty of cozy spots for relaxing and napping. Housesitting: If I’m staying at your home, please let me know what other things you’d like me to do while you’re gone! I’m happy to water plants, bring in mail or packages, put away grocery deliveries, etc. I love cleaning and folding laundry, so don’t be afraid to ask me to do something.

Pet care experience
Hi, I’m Laura, a dedicated pet lover and experienced dog caretaker. I’ve had dogs my entire life; and I started Rover-ing after my heart dog, Pepper, a special-needs pup with EPI, crossed the rainbow bridge after 14 years together. My years of caring for pets have taught me patience, compassion, and the joy of understanding each animal’s unique personality and needs. I’m experienced with daily medications, special diets, and keeping up with clever, determined dogs who will do just about anything for a treat! I understand the anxiety that comes with leaving your pet with someone new, so I pride myself in giving the kinds of daily updates that I wanted to see as an owner. I am canine First Aid & CPR certified and outfit every dog that boards with me with an AirTag for the length of their stay
Reviews

Laura was absolutely phenomenal! She was incredibly nice and easy to work with. She took superb care of my baby boy Zeke. Laura was excellent with communication! She kept me updated with multiple texts which included pictures and/or videos. This gave me peace that Zeke was happy and well cared for! Thanks, Laura! We'll see you again.

Amazing visit as always!

Always great to book her as our sitter! Puts a ton of effort into walks and playtime. Will definitely book again!

Laura and her husband Dude are absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond to make sure that my dog Max has an amazing time they treat him amazing. Laura sends so many updates pictures and videos and Max looks like he’s having a blast in every one of them! I really can’t say enough about Laura and dude they are the absolute best! I’m so happy I found them to watch Max!
