About: Nothing is more important to me than the health and safety of your family. Safety being most important, my next concern is that your dog has a positive and rewarding experience in any environment they find themselves. I train dogs. My walk price reflects that experience and value I add to your dog’s experiential learning. My core philosophy is that all learning be a positive incentive based experience for the dog. Boarding rates do not include dog training. Dogs in my care receive structure throughout their day including structured playtime, walks, training, and enrichment consistent with the needs of the client. Each dog is an individual, and I welcome a discussion to find out how I can best serve your dog’s individual needs! My demonstration dog is a 1.5 y/o Malinois Husky. He is stable with all dog breeds and sizes. I work him as a sport dog but he is built to be a companion dog. Dogs in B&T may be crated or in an exclusion room for compression and decompression when not actively being trained or exercised. They will also receive structured play and walks consistent with their individual goals.

About: I have been a pet owner for virtually my entire life! Cats, dogs, rabbits and even a bird! My partner and I recently lost our beloved Jack Russell Terrier “Terrie” after 14 wonderful years. While regular travel commitments make it difficult to adopt another companion of our own at this time, we would love the opportunity to care for your “best fur-iend” when we are home! My partner and I both work from home, so, rest assured, someone will always be there with your pet for playtime, potty breaks and walks. I have a fenced yard in a quiet neighborhood. The house is of a decent size and currently we are without a full-time pet of our own. Your pet will enjoy being the center of attention!

I dropped off my 7 lb chihuahua, Molly, for a daycare session with Hana yesterday, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I’ll admit I was really nervous at first, Molly is tiny, and there were two other dogs there, one of whom was super excited to meet a new friend. So much energy can make Molly hesitant, but Hana immediately stepped in with calm, confident leadership. She set clear boundaries to help everyone settle down, which made me feel so much more comfortable. Throughout the day, she sent me several videos showing Molly relaxed and happy, calmly hanging out with the other dogs and going for a nice walk. By the end of the day, Molly was curled up on the couch with Hana, her husband, and her two new friends, a huge sign of trust from my usually cautious little dog! Hana showed wonderful leadership, genuine care, and constant attention throughout the day. I left feeling completely reassured and grateful to have found someone so capable and kind. I’ll definitely be booking again!

About: I may not have dogs of my own but I sure do love being around them. Before moving I use to volunteer at an animal shelter and I loved it there just to see how dogs were able to have at least a couple of minutes of happiness from pups to seniors. I also foster kitties and have two of my own! I am currently attending nursing school, so can’t fit a full time job into my schedule. This is the best option because it’s something I love and I can still complete my studies! I would first build trust with the animal ensuring they are not frightened by me. Aside from that I love for the owners to tell me more about their pet to allow me to best adjust my skills to accommodate the pet.

Heath Bar didn’t make it easy - he barked the entire time at Danielle’s unless she was there with him, I k ew he had separation anxiety but the only time it presented for the last several years was while he was alone in the car. His being alone in the house was not a problem for him. My take away is to be certain someone will be at home with him for most of the time he will be in someone else’s care. Danielle was very responsive and kept me informed the day Heath was in her care.

About: I am returning to Rover after a long hiatus while pursuing my PhD. Before my beloved Stella (black pitty) passed away, we had a wonderful time dog-sitting for clients. After many years of grief and a very, very busy life in my doctoral program, I have another doggy companion, Bruce. We enjoy working from home together and are excited to care for your pets! Training my boxer, Bruce, has been such a rewarding experience, and we hope to have the chance to help others on their journeys to build strong connections between handlers and their beloved companions. Working from home allows me to adapt to different needs and routines to stick as closely as possible with your pets current routine to give them a sense of familiarity. My boxer, Bruce, knows when it is time for his meals, bedtime, or when I need to step out to run errands for the day. I intend to do the same by adapting to your pet's routine so they feel at ease.

About: I’m a huge animal lover with 6+ years of hands on experience caring for dogs and cats. What started as helping my neighbors with their pets and volunteering at local animal shelters grew into professional experience with dog walking, boarding, daycare, and pet care. I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels, and I’m comfortable caring for pets with different needs and routines. I love taking the time to understand each pet’s personality so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. 🐶🐱 Building genuine bonds with the animals I care for is my favorite part of what I do. Whether your pet needs a long walk, some playtime, extra cuddles, or simply a familiar and loving presence, I’m here to make sure they feel right at home. ❤️ For my new clients,I try to schedule meet and greets just to ensure we’re a great fit for each other and I’m not a complete stranger to your pup. It’s a great opportunity for us to discuss any expectations you may have or important information I need to know about your dog.I love meeting new dogs and being able to provide a welcoming environment and presence! We’ll be the best of friends in no time trust me! My ultimate goal is to make sure your pet experiences the same kind of love and care you give them at home.I’m very big on safety and ensuring your pet is happy and taken care of.I have lots of space in my home for your dog to run around and play in! I live very close to huge parks with dog runs that I am more than happy to bring your dog into with your permission!

Mia is 6 months old and very shy around people and animals but she quickly warmed up to Mahrya and her dog. She got very excited for the morning drop-off which was a great relief to me. I will continue to use Mahrya's services and I highly recommend her.

Kylie is everything you hope for in a pet sitter. She met with us beforehand, which immediately put me at ease, and the moment she and Baklava met it was clear she was the right person for the job!! He warmed up to her almost instantly, which honestly says a lot about her because he can be a picky judge of character. She took the time to really understand his quirks (and he has plenty), and I never once felt anxious leaving him in her care. She also took great care of the house, which is always appreciated! Tanisha was fantastic with my dog Morty. My dog is reactive and nervous around new dogs, and she was willing to do whatever it takes to make sure he would feel comfortable with her and her dog. We did a meet and greet, followed by a test overnight board and test daycare. It was incredible to see how well my dog settled in with her. You can tell she cares a lot about the dogs she watches. I got a lot of pictures and videos of my dog while he was with Tanisha (more than I've ever gotten from a sitter). I highly recommend Tanisha!

Katherine was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Vigo. She is clearly very experienced and comfortable with all different kinds of dogs, which immediately put us at ease. We felt completely confident leaving Vigo with her for two consecutive days while we visited Sacramento. Katherine has an excellent system for thoughtfully and safely socializing dogs, and it was clear that Vigo felt comfortable with her and engaged right away. Our dog has A LOT of energy and loves to run and play, and he was genuinely happy and very content when we picked him up both days. We couldn’t have been happier with the care Vigo received. I highly recommend Katherine to anyone with dogs of any breed or temperament. We wish she lived closer to us for regular stays but will absolutely go back to her any time we’re in the area.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Sacramento on Rover is $37.45 per day (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,351 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Sacramento. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Sacramento commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,351 sitters in Sacramento, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
