“Leah is great and super nice. My pomeranian loves going. He has no issues there and his anxiety has become a night and day difference since going to day care with her for almost 2 months now. She's been awesome at taking care of him. And also has watched him in a pinch for me too. Couldn't imagine a better person/ family to watch him 💜”

“We’ve booked Grisel several times and will continue to rebook! She has gone above and beyond to provide exemplary care for my Otter boy (lending him a doggy sweater when it’s cold outside and successfully flushing his eyes with his eye wash during allergy flare-ups). I can rest easy knowing that he is in her care.”

“Our pup had a blast with Jennifer! He immediately knew he was in a fun and safe place when he arrived. Not only got a ton of playtime, but came back tired and well behaved. We will be booking with Jennifer again!”

“Kody had an amazing time playing with other pups. Nelly was willing to send pictures and videos and ask questions about Kody’s limitations due to him being neutered recently. Will definitely book again!”

“I enjoyed seeing all the picture updates of Nikos stay again with Lety. My pup seems to always have a fun-filled day with her & Mason. Thank you for taking good care of my Niko. Our family is grateful!”

“Johnna took such great care of Luna. I felt completely comfortable knowing she was in good hands. We received pictures and updates that kept us feeling confident in her care. Thank you Johnna!”

“We had a fantastic experience with Alexis and her family. Bonnie loved spending the day playing with the kids and other dogs. Communication with Alexis was also great - we’d happily book again!”

“I have used Manny for daycare on multiple occasions in recent weeks. I am an extremely neurotic pet parent and I always get nervous taking my dog to a new sitter. Manny went above and beyond in talking through my questions at length and asked thoughtful questions about my dog’s needs. My dog has done really well at Manny’s and I will be using his services in the future!”

“Lee was amazing with Lucy! She had the best time playing with Bubba and came home happy and tired both days. He sent lots of pics and videos throughout the day so I knew she was having fun. Couldn’t ask for a better dog sitter — Lucy can’t wait to hang with Bubba again!”

“We are so grateful Derek, Leslie and their family help look after our sweet fur babies when we are away. The Pitadors are always excited when they know they are going to these wonderful Rover sitter’s home and always come back to our home tuckered out from all the play, love and attention they’ve gotten!”
“Reginay did an amazing job taking care of my puppy Minji. She was very communicative and provided me updates throughout the day. I will keep booking with her whenever I need to!”

“My dog had such a great time with Debra! I can tell my girl was very calm and happy when I picked her up. Debra even waited outside in the rain to make sure I could find her house when I dropped her off. It was good to know I had someone experienced to watch my dog.”

About: Having been through some pretty big life changes recently, I’m reminded to slow down and focus on things that make me happy. One thing that makes me happy is dogs. I’ve also wanted to get out and take more walks, so what better way to enjoy both than dog walking. I’ve had pets of all types all my life, but dogs are hands down my favorite. I currently have two of my own and occasionally watch my friends’ dogs. A friend of mine uses Rover, and I’ve been a pet sitter since I was a teen, so I thought I’d give it a try. I have taken a few training classes when my dog was a puppy and I have some experience with special needs (seniors, blindness, low mobility, and seizures). I work full time, but telework three days a week. For midday visits and dog walks, someone close to home would be best to ensure availability. We can always discuss evening visits or walks as well. For boarding, unless discussed and scheduled prior, weekends would best to ensure I can be home with your fur babe. I treat visiting pups like my own. They’re allowed on my furniture and in my bed. I have multiple crates of various sizes if a crate is needed. My yard is fenced, but dogs aren’t typically left unattended in the yard. I have seven free range chickens in my yard, so their safety is also a concern for me. I’m also open to discussion if your dogs’ needs don’t align with my typical routine; I don’t mind changing things up if it’s something I can accommodate.
“Nico had the best day with Wyne. She sent photos throughout the day which eased my one as this was his first doggie daycare experience. He came home happy and tired from playing and that is all win in my book!”
“Sookie always has a great time with Tammy, and her dogs. I tell her where she's going, she gets very excited, she almost pulls my arm off trying to get inside to see everyone. I feel good knowing she's getting great care.”

“Darlene was awesome. I couldn't be happier. Her home is set up super dog friendly. She kept me posted with photos and videos. Rocco had a great time meeting and playing with new friends. He cannot wait to go back.”

“Teddy had a great afternoon and evening. Communication was very quick and I love getting updates and photos. He had a great night and slept well when he got home. I will definitely use her again when we are back in the area thank you so much.”

Serena was Fantastic! Posted lots of photos and was very impressed with her communication. Sadie just loved Serena and Wes. Before we got there she was super excited! I can always tell Sadie been good when she’s well behaved after. Serena and Wes have a perfect back yard for are dog who has special needs and past trauma so finding the right fit is a major factor. Serena checked all the boxes during the meet and greet. Key words for Serena professional, calm, organized, understanding, good listener, communication skills.

I am so thrilled to have met Tiffany to dog sit my puppy. Tiffany is very kind and caring and it showed in how she interacted with her sweet dog Alice and my puppy. You can tell she loves what she does. She is responsible, reliable, professional, and accommodating to my puppies needs. Tiffany communicates well and sent me updates with pictures, which I loved. Trying a new dog sitter can be a nervous situation for the parents, but Tiffany made the whole experience, from the meet and greet to the dog sitting, smooth, easy, and relaxing that I felt at ease knowing my puppy was in great hands! My puppy had a great time with Tiffany and her cute sweet dog, Alice If your looking for an amazing sitter, Tiffany is for you! I highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs. Thank you Tiffany! I look forward to more pet sitting opportunities with Alice and you!💜🐾💜

My puppy Nelly absolutely adored Jeniffer! She is so sweet and caring - the kind of person you instantly feel good leaving your pet with. She went above and beyond with walks and playtime, and took the cutest photos of Nelly! I came home to one very happy pup. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Thank you sooo much! I’m currently over seas and Coryn helped me out big time picking up Tito and dropping him off for all day play. He got to hang out with her play with doggies and go back home. My family forgot to leave out his food and Coryn totally stepped up, went into my fridge and fed Tito while my family was out working and getting home late. I can always rely on Coryn when ever I travel away for a day or if I’m over seas. 🙏🙏

We contacted Hallie at the last minute for dog care help on Thanksgiving. She was available to take care of our 3 Aussies for the day and as late as we needed. Hallie was great and very flexible. She asked questions about their needs. The dogs settled in right away and even took naps, a sure sign they were comfortable. I loved that she was able to take them for walks - they are pretty high energy. She sent us a wonderful photo of the 3 doggos. It made us feel so good and allowed us to really enjoy our visit with family. We will absolutely contact Hallie again when we are back in the area.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
