“Hannah was amazing with our 4 large dogs. They can be a handle full and we appreciate having her take care of them while we were gone. One of our dogs is allergic to bees, she called us immediately when she suspected he got stung, got him the meds we left just in case it happens and she called the vet to check in with them as well. Highly recommend her as a sitter.”

“Niiyah was so fabulous! I loved all of the updates and photos, and I was completely at ease the entire time knowing my animals were in capable, caring hands. You can tell from the photos that our animals absolutely loved her. We will definitely be booking with her again for our next trip!”

“Aubrey is amazing! I was in search for a new dog sitter and am happy I found her! She sent lots of photos of videos throughout the day and kept me updated regularly. My dog threw up on the couch and she went ahead and cleaned it ? I also have a puppy with a lot of energy and who needs to go outside to use the bathroom several times a day so she’s very accommodating to different needs. She also checked in on Leia via text to see if she was feeling better after throwing up. Aubrey genuinely cares! ✨”

“Erika was great with our dogs and very knowledgeable , we where able to trust her with our home and animals while we were on vacation. I highly recommend her and will use her again for sure.”

“Gabriela was great with Milo, she came through for us last minute for an evening sitting. Walked milo and took him in backyard to hang out which he loves. Great communication and updates.”

“Very impressed with Stephanie and the care she provided for our dogs. Would highly recommend for anyone considering reaching out. She provided check ins with pictures and walked them regularly. We will be reaching out for all future dog watching needs.”

“Keishla took great care of my large dog and cats while I was away. She even won over the affection of my more skiddish kitten! From the meet and greet, through the end of the sit, Keishla was respectful, responsive, and professional. She spent plenty of time playing with the animals, kept the house clean, and sent several updates and pictures throughout the sit. I would happily book her again!”

“Brandy was phenomenal. She took great care of our fur babies. She sent us daily updates with photos. Knowing our home and pets were being so well cared for allowed us to throughly enjoy our vacation. I will definitely book again with Brandy 😁”

“We have used Danielle to house-sit and dog-sit for a long time now; probably 3-4 years, and well over a dozen times. She is one of the ONLY people besides family, that we would trust with our dog and our home. She is always reliable, and makes herself available whenever we need her, including weekends and holidays. Our dog is always excited to see her, so we know she does a great job. She is very responsive and very easy to communicate with. She even stayed an extra day in an emergency, when our plane was delayed overnight. She’s taken care of Phoebe so many times, we don’t even send her instructions anymore, and she knows exactly what to do. We just leave the keys under the mat, and she does the same for us. I would personally recommend Danielle to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter or house sitter.”

“Zarmineh did a wonderful job watching our puppers. Sent is photos of them playing outside and letting us know their condition throughout her stay. Was very receptive to our instructions during our meet and greet for our dogs in training. Very positive, punctual, and reliable. Would hire again!”
“Laura was exceptional in taking care of our German Shepherd, who comes with several challenges, over several days. She was incredibly attentive and caring, and Zoey took to her instantly. Communication while we were away was fantastic, and she left the house in perfect order. We would absolutely hire her again.”

I’ve had years of experience with cats and dogs of all ages and sizes. I can be active or lazy depending on their needs. I’m happy to help take care of your pets however is best.

“Jenna is the best Rover sitter I've found! Sends regular updates, is super thoughtful and takes great care of my older pup. Trustworthy, reliable. Have used her before and will continue to book with her!”

About: I've had and cared for animals ever since I can remember. I grew up with dogs, cats, birds and even rats. I have always had a natural love for animals and truly enjoy taking care of them like they're my own. Spending time with pets doesn't feel like a job to me, It's something I genuinely look forward to. Whether it's going on walks, playing, or just giving them attention and comfort, I make sure every pet feels safe, happy and loved while you're away. I currently have open availability and a flexible schedule, so I am able to give pets lots of attention and care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs walks, check-ins, or extended stays, I can easily accommodate different routines and schedules. I am available daytime, evenings and weekends as needed. For safety and comfort, I provide care in your home rather than boarding. I live in an apartment, so I'm unable to host pets, but I'm more than happy to stay in your home and follow all care instructions closely. I respect your space, keep things clean, and make sure your pet stays in their normal routine where they feel most comfortable.
“Anna stayed with my two dogs for a full-day house sitting. She was on time and texted when she arrived so I knew they weren’t alone. Anna sent numerous photos throughout the day and kept in touch. She even sent photos of their lunch that she made. (They’re spoiled with homemade lunches) I checked in a couple times because I’m as needy as the dogs and she was quick to respond. She also took them for a walk before it got too hot. We set up a meet and greet before the house sitting and she was on time, courteous, and friendly with my dogs right away. I will definitely use her again to sit with my dogs.”

“As always, Joel is the best when it comes to looking after our home, and more importantly, our dog Loki. Loki loves Joel, and is always happy to see him! Joel takes such good care of Loki, keeps him to his routines and follows any special requests we might have. Joel takes great care of our home, always leaving it clean and tidy, and treats our space with respect. We have booked Joel for 3 weeks next year while we are overseas. Thank you Joel!”

“Diana is so kind and generous! We have two animals and she came over twice to make sure she understood how to take care of them. Each time, she was a complete delight and also she kept me updated with updates on how my fur babies were doing. I couldn’t recommend her enough. She will be our go-to sitter from now on”

“Charlie and Alex my Scottish Terriers are 7.5 years old, and Claire my cat is 17 years old. Besides me who never goes anywhere because I don't trust anybody to watch these three, my mom is the only other person who has spent time with them. I needed to take a trip out of town for 9 days and I was stressed. Then I found Brittany. Alex is my guard dog. Charlie welcomes everybody. Brittany came in with doggie treats. Charlie immediately fell in love with her, Alex was guarded. In 5 minutes she had won Alex over. He was sitting right next to her as if it were me sitting on the couch. It was then and there that I knew she was the one I could trust to watch my group. I have pretty extensive instructions I'm one of those people and she followed it to a tee. Brittany well send you photos and video clips of your pets as often or as little as you want to make you feel comfortable. I was able to be away and know that Charlie and Alex and Claire were all being very well taken care of. Claire took a little bit of time to warm up but she did come around. Bonus, Brittany also tidied up my house for me. I would highly recommend her hands down. In fact I'm trying to see if she could help me in September.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Arden-Arcade
Came home to two happy dogs! Erika was wonderful with both our energetic pup and elder buddy. And communicated easily with us humans too. She made it easy for us to enjoy our vacation knowing the dogs were having a fun staycation with her - appreciated her text with pictures for updates.
Cheryl was great. She communicated with me the entire time and provided a bunch of pictures to make me feel better about leaving them. She was very kind and understanding of my dogs individual needs and treated them amazingly well. I would use Cheryl again without a doubt.

Bailey's first weekend with a pet sitter. First, Whitney is an excellent communicator and very responsive. She is thorough with her notes and came to our meeting prepared. The pictures, videos, and daily updates were greatly appreciated. And best of all, we came home to a very happy and content puppy. Baily is a 1.5-year-old mini Aussie with lots of energy.

We had a wonderful experience with Natalie! From the very beginning, communication was clear, friendly, and professional. She took the time to understand our dog’s routine, preferences, and quirks, which immediately put us at ease. During the stay, we received regular updates, including photos and messages, which made it so much easier to be away. When we returned, our dog was relaxed and content, which says everything. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and highly recommend Natalie to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive sitter!

Rachel was incredible! She took such great care of my dog, Estrella, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. She was reliable, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I came home to a happy, relaxed pup and a spotless space. I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her! ✨

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Arden-Arcade on Rover is $50 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arden-Arcade walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arden-Arcade maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arden-Arcade choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
