Pet care experience

Your pets are family & my priority

My family has owned dogs since I was young. I've cared for an trained a Schipperke, Alaskan Malamute, two Cairn Terriers, and two Rottweilers. I currently have an Australian Shepherd and an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. I have cared for elderly dogs and puppies. My Aussie has seizures, so I'm used to medically complex dogs and providing oral medication. I have been dog walking/sitting since March 2022 and have enjoyed the wide range of dogs and cats that I've met along the way! Prior to my start with Rover, I helped raise and train two German Shepherds and consistently watched three GSDs while attending college. I am comfortable with all breeds and sizes of dogs.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I will follow all requirements of the pet parents while in their homes. I can safely crate your dogs if that's where you would prefer to keep them, or I can leave them to free roam, or outside. I will make sure the dogs have plenty of water prior to leaving. When I am at your house, your dog(s) is my main priority. I will play with them outside and make sure they get the freedom to run around, play catch, play tug o war, or just rub their bellies.

House Sitting • Jun 08, 2026

Bailey's first weekend with a pet sitter. First, Whitney is an excellent communicator and very responsive. She is thorough with her notes and came to our meeting prepared. The pictures, videos, and daily updates were greatly appreciated. And best of all, we came home to a very happy and content puppy. Baily is a 1.5-year-old mini Aussie with lots of energy.

House Sitting • Apr 09, 2026

Whitney is a great dogsitter! She frequently played ball with Brinkley and took him on several walks. We received frequent updates and fun photos. I always worry about Brinkley when we're not home for awhile, but Whitney put my mind at ease. Thank you, Whitney, for sharing your time with our puppy!

Dog Walking • Dec 02, 2025

Whitney is the absolute best! We’ve worked with her for several years now and our family vacations wouldn’t be possible without her taking care of our dogs for us 🩵🩵

Schedule

I have a hybrid work schedule and am in the office on Thursdays and Fridays, so that does limit some of my availability. I can do drop ins and walks pretty easily Fridays after work through Wednesdays. House sitting would require the flexibility to work and drop in to play with the dogs. I would not leave the dogs alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time.

I like to know if the dog has any triggers while out on walks (chasing after cars, small animals, etc.) so I know what to watch out for on our walks. I also want to know if they tend to pull so I can prepare for any tugging. Please let me know if there are any training techniques you want me to perform (having them sit before a meal or a quick correction on a walk).
