I can't say enough good things about our recent experience with Johnna pet/house sitting for us. Johnna took the time to meet us first to make sure it would be a good fit. Our dog is a senior and Johnna was so kind and considerate of all of his needs. Her little dog Bonnie is so adorable and I think having her here made Dexter feel even more comfortable. She sent us daily updates and pictures to let us know how he was doing. She left the house spotless and even watered our outdoor plants! It was by far the best experience I have had with a pet sitter. I have already reserved another pet sitting!

About: Loved and cared for two puppies, potty trained them and how to sit and shake. Currently caring for our second chihuahua that is 10 y/o I am currently taking classes on the weekdays for a Personal Training program—which is really flexible. The weekends will be needed for a second job. Treating every pet and home like my own, I follow routines closely by keeping doors locked, sending photo updates, and staying responsive throughout your trip.

Alexis is fantastic! Immediately I noticed she had a nice peaceful energy, which is really important for my nervous girl. She gave me unprompted morning and evening updates with pictures, and never once did I worry or wonder how things were going. My home was also just as clean as I’d left it when I returned. Will absolutely be booking with her again, and for the long run! Thank you Alexis, Ms. Millie was so happy spending time with you! <3

Jasmine was nothing short of amazing! She took care of our two dogs and our house for three days while we were on vacation. She is a natural with animals, making our rescue dogs feel safe and secure. They loved her! On top of taking them on walks and playing with them, she also kept our plants alive during the heatwave and fed the multitude of wild birds who frequent our feeders. She even laundered the sheets on the bed where she slept. All and all, we found her to be trustworthy and reliable, just like one of the family. We're so lucky to have found her.

Danielle was great. She was very communicative and suggested a meet and greet, which was appreciated. I also liked receiving photos and updates during her stay. Danielle took Winston for a walk each day and ensured he also got his ball-time throughout the day. (A tired large puppy is a happy large puppy) She left before I arrived home - which was discussed and planned, no surprises - and before she left she even found a dog-related movie to put on TV for background noise. The extra attention to detail was cute and very much appreciated! I will definitely ask her to return. You can trust her to take care of your home and pet.

We have never had anyone stay at our house with our animals before, so the idea of leaving them with a complete stranger was very daunting. Sydney was absolutely wonderful with our two big, rambunctious dogs (2 year old huskies) and four cats. Our house was exactly as we left it and she sent lots of updates so we could see everyone’s sweet faces and how much fun they were having without us! She was terrific about updating us when she got here and letting us know how everything was going. She was always very responsive through the whole process, and it was very clear our animals were all comfortable and enjoying their normal routine with her. We will absolutely have Sydney back, and I would 100% recommend her to anyone!

Dmitriy was a great sitter for our 2 month old Puppy, Willow. He arrived on time and ready to go. Willow is a high energy puppy that is very mouthy and still working on her potty training. Dmitriy dived right in and worked with her to have the best day! He was very good about sending me updates and photos, which really put me at ease. When I returned home Dmitriy related that it was a good day of play, naps, and no potty accidents!! I would recommend Dmitriy for his professionalism, patience, and good care for your pet!!

About: Hello fellow pet parents! My name is Emily, and I am thrilled to offer a safe, fun, and reliable home-away-from-home for your beloved four-legged family members. As a passionate animal lover, I know firsthand that pets aren't just animals—they are cherished members of the family who deserve the absolute best care, attention, and affection. Whether your pet is an energetic ball of fluff who needs to burn off some energy, or a sweet senior soul who just wants a quiet cuddle on the couch, I tailor my care to meet their unique personality and routine! 🐕 Services Provided & Activities When your pet is with me, their day will be filled with structure, safety, and a whole lot of fun. The services I provide are fully customizable, but a typical day of care or visit often includes: Tailored Exercise & Neighborhood Walks: Active walks to explore local spots, sniff all the good trails, and get some great fresh air. Engaging Playtime & Mental Stimulation: From classic games of fetch to interactive toys, I love keeping pets mentally and physically sharp. Cozy Cuddle Time & Companionship: Plenty of belly rubs, ear scratches, and relaxing downtime to ensure they feel entirely safe, secure, and loved. Routine Maintenance: Timely feeding, refreshing water bowls, administering any required medications, and ensuring a clean environment (including keeping litter boxes spotless for feline friends). Daily Photo Updates: I love capturing great candid moments! You can expect regular, bright photo and text updates so you can see exactly how much fun your pet is having while you're away. 📚 My Pet Care Experience I have years of hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of pets, ranging from high-energy dogs to independent, sweet cats. My background includes managing different temperaments, understanding animal body language, and adhering strictly to specific dietary and medical routines. Having my own beloved pets has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and vigilance. I treat every single animal in my care with the exact same level of devotion, respect, and safety that I demand for my own furry family. From puppy training basics to gentle senior care, I’ve got it covered! 📅 Availability & Daily Routine I understand how important peace of mind is when leaving your pet, which is why I pride myself on being highly present and attentive. My Schedule: I manage my professional responsibilities with an incredibly flexible schedule that allows me to put your pet's needs first. Time Spent with Your Pet: Because I have excellent control over my daily calendar, your pet will never be an afterthought. I am able to dedicate significant chunks of the day to direct interaction, frequent potty breaks, and structured play. Evenings & Weekends: I have fantastic availability for overnight stays, weekend boarding, or dedicated evening drop-ins, ensuring that your pet maintains their normal routine without disruption. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry best friend! Feel free to reach out with any questions, details about your pet's specific quirks, or to schedule a meet-and-greet. Let’s give your pet the best day ever! 🐶🐱✨ Pet care naturally fits into my everyday life because spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy and prioritize. I’m used to building my day around routines like walks, feeding schedules, playtime, potty breaks, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for. I have experience caring for dogs with different energy levels, including puppies who need extra attention and consistency. I’m home enough to provide regular care, supervision, and companionship, and I enjoy being active, so walks and exercise are an easy part of my routine. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so I make sure to follow each owner’s instructions closely and keep their normal routine as stress-free and familiar as possible while they’re in my care. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well being will always be my top priority. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. I make sure every pet is supervised carefully, kept in a safe environment, and cared for according to their individual needs and routine. I pay close attention to behavior, energy levels, eating habits, and any signs that a pet may be stressed or uncomfortable so I can respond quickly if something seems off. I believe in clear communication and will always keep owners updated with messages and photos so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is in good hands. I treat every animal with patience, kindness, and the same level of care I would give my own pet. My goal is to create a safe, positive experience for both pets and their owners every time.

About: Not only have I grown up with large dogs for the past 23 years, but I have also consistently pet sat for families in need of a loving and reliable sitter. I’m the type of person who has to stop and say hello to every dog I see, so caring for furry friends is something that comes naturally to me! I treat every pet as if they were my own, giving them plenty of love, attention, and care while you’re away. Although I do not train animals, I do have experience in providing oral medication as well as walks, feeding, and love! I’m currently in a transition period and taking a gap year, which gives me plenty of time and flexibility for pet sitting! While my schedule varies, I have a very open and adaptable availability and can often accommodate different scheduling needs. When caring for your pet in your home, I make it my priority to keep their routine as consistent and comfortable as possible. I’ll provide plenty of love, attention, playtime, and cuddles while making sure they are fed, exercised, and cared for according to your instructions. I also treat your home with the same respect and care as I would my own!

Drew was phenomenal with Meeko and Belle. I was traveling abroad for two weeks, and it was such a blessing to find someone who can genuinely care for blind pets—especially an elderly one with a younger, mischievous sibling. Drew was incredibly responsive, sent regular updates, and took amazing care of both the pets and the house. Belle is blind, senior, and sometimes experiences separation anxiety, but Drew was patient, gentle, and attentive with her. Meeko is a curious troublemaker, and Drew kept him stimulated while keeping the “trouble” under control. I’d 100% recommend Drew to anyone. I’ve already told my coworkers and friends—he’s truly exceptional.

We have used Danielle to house-sit and dog-sit for a long time now; probably 3-4 years, and well over a dozen times. She is one of the ONLY people besides family, that we would trust with our dog and our home. She is always reliable, and makes herself available whenever we need her, including weekends and holidays. Our dog is always excited to see her, so we know she does a great job. She is very responsive and very easy to communicate with. She even stayed an extra day in an emergency, when our plane was delayed overnight. She’s taken care of Phoebe so many times, we don’t even send her instructions anymore, and she knows exactly what to do. We just leave the keys under the mat, and she does the same for us. I would personally recommend Danielle to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter or house sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - McClellan Park

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in McClellan Park on Rover is $51.78 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 2,681 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across McClellan Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred McClellan Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in McClellan Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in McClellan Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in McClellan Park. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
